Sketchbook IPA and Peroni Draft
Andrew D.

Wow! I can't state with enough enthusiasm how great the pizza is at Lefty's. We stopped in on Saturday before heading to the Skokie Theatre to see A Streetcar Named Desire. Lefty's has a very small dining room with limited seating (during the warmer months they offer al fresco dining) and a counter running along the main window for additional seating. In this instance seating and interior are secondary to the superb quality of the pizza. We started with a Sketchbook IPA and Peroni beer on draft. They were brought to the table in chilled glasses with a nice head of foam. The beers were presented in glasses with the beer names etched on each of the glasses. Outstanding presentation! For our entree we ordered a 16 inch thin crust pizza with sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms. When it came to the table it was hot and bursting with a sweet aroma and bouquet of colors. The pizza was topped with green, red, and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and chunks of fresh sausage. The sauce was sweet and plentiful and was amply covered with generous portions of melted mozzarella cheese. The pizza was hot and the blended flavors of the combined ingredients were superb. Finally, an establishment that values the quality of ingredients and consistently delivers. Lefty's is one of the very best thin crust pizza's on the north shore. "Pizza is [Lefty's] love language, and [they are ] fluent in it". Bravo!

I finally tried Lefty's. This will be my go to pizza place from now on. Ordered online and showed up early. I was just going to sit in my car until the time came, but someone came out to my car when I pulled up. I told her I still needed to pay and she took my name then came back to take my card. She was so kind! A+ for service! My pizza came out early and pipping hot! It smelled so good. I hard time resisting eating during my 10 min ride home. The pizza was crunchy, yet chewy and soft. A bit salty, but pan pizza is usually salty. The flavors were great. I'm so glad I finally gave Lefty's a try!

Solid pie :)

I give Lefty's two stars because I actually really enjoy their pizza, both thin and pan, and we've been sorely short of good pizza in mid and east Wilmette for years. However, due to the owners responses to people questioning their masking policy, I will not be returning. When an owner degrades a customer for disagreeing with something, or complaining about staff or food....well, it's unacceptable, and it doesn't matter If they are right, wrong, or of differing opinions. I personally don't care if employees are masked when I'm ordering take out, but will never go to a store/restaurant where the owner/s or employees seem to default to name calling and belittling when dealing with a customer complaint.

Sausage and spinach deep dish

One of the best Chicago deep dish pizzas ever! I always order from Pequod's when I come to Chicago and was advised these owners come from there. Their's rivals Pequods and dare I say exceeded my expectations. Delivery was super fast, too!

If you like burnt pizza, this is your place. Pizza is meh. The manager is the absolute worst. So rude. Do not eat here.

The pizza is consistently delicious, with a sauce that's perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. It definitely doesn't taste like the canned stuff you find elsewhere. Every bite is fresh and full of flavor. Their tiramisu is truly next level. It's hands down the best on the North Shore light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. The meatballs are another standout. They taste homemade, not frozen, and they're packed with flavor. The patio is an absolutely adorable. Charming bistro chairs, a beautiful brick floor, ivy covered walls, and umbrellas transport you straight to a European café. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff are always kind and accommodating, making the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. We just can't stop coming back. Marco Roma is that good. Grateful Bites is usually a win, but for some reason they were closed. And then Barnaby's is another favorite for takeout, but I called several times and got their busy signal. I found Marco Roma on Yelp and figured worth giving a try. We ordered the chopped salad, a cheese pizza and even their roma crust pizza, which was kind of like a deep dish pizza. I also got a side of meatballs to add a bit more protein to the meal. The order came pretty fast and the food disappeared quickly among my family of 5. I enjoyed the salad and normal pizza the most, but everyone else really liked the roma crust pizza, which I found to be a little heavy. The meatballs weren't really doing it for me - so much for protein! It's still tough to to Grateful Bites and Barnaby's in my house, but I'd order from here again in the future!

I came last year for my birthday in the fall, and my sister loved the pizza so much she wanted to go for her birthday this past July. The patio is great to have during the summer because they can seat a lot more people, and even on a Tuesday evening their patio was packed. My birthday was on a Sunday last year, and we had no problem getting a table for 7 inside around 6pm. I actually preferred sitting inside. Something about eating deep dish pizza during the fall inside of a cozy dark restaurant just made the experience even better for me. I've been to Pequod's about three times already over the past few years, and it is definitely one of my favorite pizza's in Chicago. Until last year, I was unaware that Burt's Place was the original before Pequod's that started the caramelized crust. I love the caramelized crust, but it is definitely an acquired taste and some people will claim it just tastes burnt (they don't get it). Comparing this pizza to Pequod's, this one seems much more thinner and less doughy. It might be because we got a large, so the dough was just spread out more thin. I do wish I came here and tried this pizza when Burt was alive because many reviews online claim that the quality has gone down or it just doesn't taste the same. Either way, it's an iconic pizza shop that everyone should try at least once!

Waitress was on top of her game and got drinks and order going quickly. Crispy edge, deep dish pizza that was very good. There was a good ratio of sauce to bread and the toppings were very fresh. Friend had the chicken tenders and the jalepeno poppers. Honestly, the tray of fries as an appetizer was a great decision! We were not rushed along- and allowed to sit and chat after dinner. It was a great night with great food! Definitely check out this cute neighborhood spot!
