Marco Roma has become our go to pizza spot, and we drive all the way from Highland Park just to get it. The pizza is consistently delicious, with a sauce that's perfectly balanced and clearly made with care. It definitely doesn't taste like the canned stuff you find elsewhere. Every bite is fresh and full of flavor. Their tiramisu is truly next level. It's hands down the best on the North Shore light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. The meatballs are another standout. They taste homemade, not frozen, and they're packed with flavor. The patio is an absolutely adorable. Charming bistro chairs, a beautiful brick floor, ivy covered walls, and umbrellas transport you straight to a European café. It's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff are always kind and accommodating, making the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. We just can't stop coming back. Marco Roma is that good. Came here with my husband and almost 1 year old. We had an amazing experience! There was lots of room inside so we could use our stroller and the atmosphere was more casual which was perfect. They had good music too and a cute patio. We came here because we saw on seed oil scout that they only use beef tallow and EVOO in their foods and you can really taste the difference. The calamari was crispy on the outside but the meat was tender and it didn't taste greasy at all. The pizza was delicious with a generous amount of toppings. They have desserts such as cannoli that looked delicious but we were too full. Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

Been looking for a seed-oil free restaurant everywhere and was finally relieved when I found out they were a verified seed-oil free italian restaurant! One of my favorite places when we choose to order take-out food. All of their food is delicious! Their meatball sub is one of the best and their Roma crust bosco pizza is such a unique pizza! I had driven by this place thinking it is a high end Italian restaurant for a year now. I decided that a Saturday at 2:30PM trip would be a good time to miss crowds. It was empty. Upon entering, I had to take a minute to figure out what is going on. The counter area was a bit back from the door and it wasn't clearly evident how the system worked. After talking to the man behind the counter and getting recommendations, I chose his chicken Parmesan entree suggestion and noticed the IBC root beers which brought me joy. I pod for my meal and sat down. The ambiance of the place seemed like they were trying to do fast casual with upscale food. The music was a bit eclectic and turned a little louder than I'd expect. When the food arrived, I was impressed by the size of the portion provided. It could easily feed two. The spaghetti wasn't over cooked which was my biggest concern. That concern was misplaced though. It was the breaded chicken that was the disappointment. Both pieces of chicken were over cooked, dry, and bland. The sauce was very Italian tasting including what tasted like wine mixed in. It was fine. The other part that threw me off was the roll. It came out but it was just the roll. No butter, olive oil, and honestly... flavor. For transparency, this is for just that entree. Damn, this is excellent pizza! It's one of my in-laws' go-to pizza spots, and now that I've finally tried it, I want to live nearby too! The thin crust is really really good, especiale-ly the Speciale. It is very slightly thicker than standard Chicago-style thin crust, which helps it hold up all those tasty toppings. The big star, however, is the Roma crust--a pan-style pie that closely resembles Pequod's, right down to the caramelized cheese edges. Pure bliss! read more

We ordered pizza delivery twice now from Marco Roma and both times the pizza was very good and delivery service was spot on time. Both times we tried build your own pizza and Marco Roma has done fantastic job on the order. I think that one thing that stands out for me about Marco Roma is their fresh ingredients and their pizza sauce - you can really taste the tomatoes in the pizza sauce. It's not salty and heavy with preservatives. I like to add few hot pepper flakes on top and enjoy my pizza. read more

In the last 18 months, we dined in once and have done take out 6 times. Every time, the food was absolutely delicious. I love the meatballs. We always get an order of those. Deep dish is good. My current favorite is the cheese lasagne with bolognese sauce. The 7 inch round take out tin was packed with goodness- I made 3 meals out of it! Hubby is more adventurous and tries something different every time. Coming off of a bad penne experience from another restaurant, that's what he wanted this time. So much better!! Huge fan of this spot. I work out in wilmette everyday, and their aren't many place that offer a solid lunch variety like Marco Roma. My personal favorites are: Chicken chopped: which could feed two people. It's BIG! Spaghetti: just absolutely perfect classic Italian dish. Sausage and peppers dish: filled with flavor Turkey Panino:solid turkey lunch sandwich on tasty fresh bread with great house dressing to pour on top. Pizza is great too. The new owner, Joe, is just a fantastic human. Always ready to take care of the customers. He took over about 7-8 months ago, and he's another reason I come back. The Pollo Chopped salad with the sweet vinagrette dressing is absolutely delcious! It's hard to find a really good salad--this one is it! Get extra dressing if you're ordering takeout--the salad is huge. The sausage and peppers is a good dish as well. Coworkers ordered their thin crust pizza and it was absolutely delicious! A large was split perfectly between 4 ladies and we had half mushroom/sausage and half chicken/spinach. Both were delicious! I later ordered from Marco Roma again for a work event and they once again hit the spot! In addition to pizza, I also ordered some salads which were fresh and definitely enough to be an entree salad! We've ordered takeout from Marco Roma's multiple times and brought a larger party to dine in (before Omicron!), we have found the food to be well prepared, good serving sizes and fresh. In addition, the phone/counter service has been prompt and the dine in experience was pleasant and worth taking your family to for a casual dinner. While some restaurants suffer from a consistently strong service and food experience, our family of 5 can count on Marco Romas. The staff is young and eager and it's worth noting that my brother who came in from out of town said that the Roma Crust pizza was the best he has ever had. I've read the some of the negative reviews and I can say that while every one has their own experience, our family loves the food and service and will continue to return, even should a mistake happen here or there. Marco Romo came to my attention recently as one of the rare restaurants to have a seed-oil free menu. They only use olive oil (is my understanding). The food is incredible. First, the roasted squash salad is a must. Veggie pizza is great. The eggplant parm may be the best I've ever had. The ravioli? Exquisite. Plus they give you these big fresh rolls which I assume are baked in-house. This is a special, authentic Italian restaurant with REAL quality ingredients, and the cooking skill to go go with it. I had to speak at Hubbard Woods School today and arrived early so I needed some grub to hold me over. Used Yelp mobile and found Marco Roma close by. Parking was on the street and lunch was fairly packed so parking could be an issue. The smell was awesome! I was craving for pizza, but didn't have time to wait 20 minutes so I settled for a Turkey sandwich... Well, I was very surprised that the turkey sandwich was not at all what I was expecting. It was a Toasted Focaccio turkey melt with all of the fixings. It was rather large but OH MY GOD was it good! The dressing dip on the side was a perfect addition to the sandwich. While I was sad that I couldn't get the pizza, I was still treated to a great sandwich!!! The the pop machine was not working, so the employee gave us all cans of pop. Order staff was friendly and competent. Restaurant looked very clean and a nice small outdoor area. Ordered chicken parm, bruschetta and pollo chop. Wait was fine. Spoke with one of the order takers, a very nice young man. Went back to the car to check on the Mrs. and the original order taker brought the order out to the car while we were chatting. All positive events. The food. Chicken parm and pasta enjoyable. Chicken tasty, tomato sauce plentiful and tasty. Solid B or B+. Bruschetta toppings fresh and tasty, focaccia tasted stale. Did not match the delicious toppings. B-, C+. The pollo chop. Very disappointing. The primary reason was much of the lettuce was brown. Cosmetically a killer. Appeared to have possibilities but no one could get beyond the brown lettuce. D. Finally, had no clue what to do with the rolls. No butter, olive oil, whatever. No contribution to the experience. At some point we will try the pizza. The place has potential if the kitchen does a more thorough job of quality control. read more

I just moved to Wilmette and tried Marco Roma pizza per family and friends request. I am NOT a picky eater or a food snob by any means and generally eat anything in front of me. THAT SAID, I have to say that was some of the worst pizza I've ever eaten, and definitely the worst I've had in Chicagoland (20 year resident). Frozen pizza would have been a step up. The dough and crust were so tasteless, tough and generally bad (my wife and kids agreed) that we threw out the leftovers. Never ordering from there again. Sorry to those of you who are fans but next time I'll just order Papa John's which is a third of the price and considerably better (for average pizza). -Matt read more

When the pizza arrived, I thought 'oh no, they delivered the wrong pizza'. I called the shop, only to realize I had made the error. Usually love this place. Their pizza is amazing as well as pollo chop but I was just so disappointed the other day.. I got a caprese salad for the first time and it was disgusting! The tomatoes were literally frozen and partially mushy, the weren't even red they were just white and gross. Power went out today. We asked when orders would be ready and they said 30 minutes. 40 minutes later, they hadn't started our order even and there was a line of people without food. They seem like they were chaotic and instead of keeping order, they just kept taking in more orders. We had left without eating because it would've taken another hour. They gave us a half apology but they kind of didn't care. They were a mess. Completely understand if they couldn't handle it due to power issues, but at least tell us and keep us informed especially if we were waiting inside and stop taking more orders when you cannot handle it. I also read a review from today- sorry to say and this may have been when you left, but there were a lot of angry people there today. read more
