An area favorite! First night back in RI and I needed some Marchetti's, the service and the food did not disappoint. HUGE portions of chicken and pasta. Friendly staff. A must stop when in RI .... Make sure you have a place for the leftovers!!!

Visited Marchetti's this week with a party of 18 and the service was absolutely outstanding. Lana was our server and I was super imoressed with how well she handled our large group. She treated each person with patience and respect, and most impressive of all, she remembered everyones orders without writing a single thing down! Our group was seated in a semi-private room very close to the entrance. This was perfect for us to be able to all converse. the food was delicious. I ordered a special, Pasta Rustica, which consisted of pasta with a pink sauce, proscuitto, chicken, and shrimp, topped with mozzarella. It was so incredibly delicious and the portion size was large enough that in addition to eating my fill at dinner, I also had enough to take home for two lunches. Did I mention the bread? Marchetti's has wonderful Italian bread - crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, and they pair it with garlic dipping oil. Yum! Entrees are also served with salad, and the house dressing is really good! I would go back to Marchetti's in a heartbeat. Pro tip - Make a reservation as they do get very crowded at peak times. Thanks to Marchetti's and to our amazing server, Lana, for an outstanding dinner experience for our whole group!

I consider Marchetti's to be a RI staple Italian joint known for their large portions and impeccable service. I've been a bunch of times and always leave full and satisfied. Their prices really can't be beaten for what you get and their drinks are a great value as well. We recently went for a birthday dinner and had a quintessential Marchetti's experience. The food was spot on with perfectly al dente pasta and tasty proteins. We all loved our meals and had plenty to take home and feed on for the next few days. The service was extremely friendly and efficient. They had 2 servers that between them checked on us every 5 mins for 1.5 hours. We never once had to wait for assistance. Only downsides are that we made a reservation and when we arrived they still had to put tables together which wasn't really a big deal, just defeated the purpose of a reservation. The tables they used were different shapes so it made seating a little awkward and spread us apart further than necessary which made communication difficult. We were also seated in an area that did not have climate control and it was an unusually hot day. The sun was blinding, even through the shades and it got so hot that it became a little uncomfortable. I felt badly for the waitresses as they looked really hot and the few small fans were not keeping up. If you're looking for some good ol' RI Italian that gives you enough that you can dine on it for a few days, you cannot go wrong here!!

Be prepared for a large portion and come hungry! Came for a birthday dinner for my brother, and I wish I came hungry~ although we didn't have reservations, we were seated quickly, and given a table for 5. For drinks I got a pumpkin Martin and a table of bread. Our server was so kind and very funny. My party all spoke Spanish, and she was so patient with waiting for me to provide translation to my parents, say happy birthday in her limited Spanish. Very cute and we thought she was so kind and friendly. We all ordered entrees and it was very large. The super seafood marinara was delicious. The chicken Alfredo also had the tomato marinara and just as delicious. I ordered the fried calamari, and it was crispy, but definitely order any sauces to get more flavor~ my martini was delicious and strong! Came with a cup to top my drink~ Very pleasant experience and wish I came hungrier~

Another awesome meal at Marchetti's in Cranston! We were here early without reservations on a Friday night, and for right in. Beer, wine and some salad with bread and a delicious dipping oil started us off. I ordered gnocchi with house red sauce. The gnocchi were on the specials page with pink vodka sauce, but there was no issue switching out the sauce. Pillowy deliciousness. My husband also had a special- Chicken Milano, with chicken, red roasted peppers, olives, mushrooms, spinach over pasta. This place is always busy, tables are not empty for long, and a reservation is necessary, especially on the weekend. Just a note: the parking lot is very tight with giant piles of snow that are going no where fast. People trying to back up because you can't actually drive around the piles, and could be tight with cars trying to make it to the back of the lot with no where to go.

The food is good here this isn't my first review for this place . Avery was my waitress very friendly and helpful the fish was very good not overcooked and dry. The broccoli and cheese was good but the squash was too sweet for me. Her service was very good. This is a family setting ambiance come casual but eat classy.

I brought my brother here yesterday for his 60th Birthday. I did make reservations just to secure a table as this place is always full. We walked I. And were seated right away. Our waiter was Dino he got us Margaritas and water with lemon as we looked at the menu. He was attentive, showed us the specials and the brought over bread for the table upon asking. For appetizer we had calamari my brother liked it I would had preferred the option that brings peppers. We then got our salad which I thought was good perfectly tossed in dressing. For dinner my brother had one of the specials pasta with shrimp chicken and pruscetto I believe he really liked it. The portion was so much he took most of his plate home but hey it's Marchetti's they are know for big portions. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp with a baked potatoes and squash my meal was good with the exception of the shrimp it just didn't taste right, tasted a bit odd. I had one and that was it. Our Margaritas were a really good size and they were not cheap with the alcohol yet not over loaded. For dessert my brother wanted the cheesecake and since Dino knew it was his birthday they came over sang happy birthday and even had one candle to blow out. The bill was reasonable for all that was ordered. Parking can be tough to find but we got lucky. Dino did a great job serving... the place it dimmed which gives it a relaxed ambiance

This place is a Rhode Island classic! Great Italian food and ennnnooormous portions. Fine dining it's not, but you can reliably get a delicious meal with the family at a reasonable price. Our server, Jillian, was an absolute gem. She was attentive without being overbearing and willing to meet every request with a gracious smile. Every single plate, from appetizer to main meal came out piping hot. Kudos to the kitchen and the runners for keeping this operation running tight. We loved our fried zucchini sticks for an app. Crispy fried and fresh served up with the house marinara. The salad, served family style, is dressed perfectly with just the right amount of dressing (made right in house!). Entrees? You cannot go wrong with the veal parm. It's so big it hangs off the plate. Tender and tasty with every bite. We also love the veal saltimbocca. Mushrooms, prosciutto, cheese and veal served up in a light wine butter sauce. The atmosphere is classy, cozy and welcoming. Spotless and clean. We enjoy it so much here and recommend it without a second thought.

As everyone mentions, the portions here are enormous - it's a great bang for your buck. The food is also good, although heavy on the cream and oil. Cocktails leave somethings to be desired - my husband ordered an espresso martini and it seemed to be just Bailey's in a glass. I would stick with wine. The Rhode Island-style calamari is also a must-have. The service is quick and friendly. I came during Christmas break and it was very crowded. We had a reservation and still had to wait, which is why I knocked off one star. I like the outside patio. There are lots of TVs everywhere so that takes the ambiance down a notch. Otherwise, the ambiance is pretty great!

Quick layover anywhere in New England automatically has me on the delivery apps looking for lobster…read morerolls, crabcakes, and a good lobster bisque. This time I landed on Legal Sea Foods and grabbed all three... plus an order of their Rhode Island-style calamari with hot peppers and garlic. The calamari came in hot, lightly crisp on the outside and tender inside, and the peppers gave it a nice little kick. What really impressed me though? Their delivery packaging. They deconstructed everything -- which was PERFECT for me because who wants a soggy sandwich? My warm butter-poached lobster roll came with the lobster meat packed separately in a cup, and the bun lightly buttered, toasted, but still soft on the inside. The roll itself was big enough for two sittings, so having it packed separately made it even better because I could put it together when I was actually ready to eat. Same thing with their A-list crabcake -- the crabcake separate, the little salad bed separate, the sauces separate. Lump crab meat, tasty, no complaints. The lobster bisque had good flavor too. Honestly, big kudos to them for the thoughtful "to go" food packaging. Deconstructing it - Everything stayed fresh, nothing got soggy, and when I finally sat down to eat, it tasted like it should.

We stopped in at 5 yesterday and were worried the restaurant would be busy, but we were sat immediately. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of nautical themes. Our waitress was lovely and explained the menu to us in detail. As it was our first time at a seafood boil she was very patient with all our questions. Ultimately I had the 2lb boil with 1lb of mussels, 1/2lb of shrimp, and 1/2lb of clams in the captain Loui sauce with a side of garlic noodles. Our waitress came back quickly with a bib, gloves, and a bucket for shells. Not long after our meals came out and let me tell you everything was excellent! The seafood was cooked perfectly, plenty of sauce, and even the corn and potato were out of this world. I ordered the sauce medium and it definitely had a nice kick to it. The garlic noodles had great flavor, a little clumpy but with a little of that captain Loui sauce added on top it fixed the problem. It's not cheap but for a once in a while special occasion treat I can not recommend this place enough!

I will say that the decor was nice, with blues and whites that were reminiscent of the sea. The bar also had a large TV mounted above it with an aquarium scene playing. The lights also seemed to have an aqua theme and reminded me of bubbles rising through the ocean, although I thought the restaurant itself felt quite dim. For dinner on this evening, I decided to start with the fried calamari appetizer and then went with the Crudo Burger for my entree. The menu described the fried calamari as "tender calamari lightly fried and sautéed with tempura zucchini, banana peppers, and garlic butter." The Crudo Burger was described as an "8 oz house blend burger topped with lightly fried Brie, bacon pepper jam, roasted garlic aioli, and arugula on a buttery baked brioche, served with our signature fries." The calamari came out first and had great breading that was light and sort of shattered when I bit into it. I loved the banana peppers, but the calamari itself was rubbery. The zucchini was a fun addition that helped break up the flavors, and I wish there had been more of it. I also would have liked to taste more of the garlic butter. Once I finished that, my Crudo Burger came out, and between the burger and all the French fries, it was absolutely massive. On my first bite, I got hints of maple from the bacon jam. The burger itself was cooked nicely to a medium and had great flavor, while the bun was nicely toasted. My fries were good as well, seasoned nicely with some Parmesan and truffle flavor. Last but not least was the fried Brie in the middle of my burger. Honestly, it sort of put me over the top, and after eating it, I couldn't finish anything else. I ended up getting both the check and a to-go box for half of my burger and three-quarters of my fries. It's worth noting that my server was nice and enthusiastic throughout my time there. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I felt that the calamari was overcooked, the burger and fries were delicious, and I thought the decor was tastefully done as well.
