Wonderful experience at Marcella's. Came here to just look around, not expecting to really find "the dress" but Jenna helped me find the dress of my dreams! And helped me stay in budget completely. She was able to put up with my mom and grandmas different opinions and find something we all loved! She was a wonderful blessing and I'm so excited to get married in my beautiful gown. If you want a unique dress that isn't at every shop in town, choose Marcella's! If you want a custom dress or modifications to a dress you found, they're amazing at doing whatever possible to help it be the dress of your dreams. And all at a reasonable price! read more

I had the absolute worst experience with Marcella shop. I was a long distance bridesmaid and needed to order over the phone. I gave them the measurements and they would tell me what size dress I needed to buy in that line. I received the dress and it said size 14 on the tag which would have a bust of 40.5'' (mine being 41''); however, the dress actually measured at 35'' physically on the dress. I called them and double checked what measurements they used. They repeated the same numbers I gave them. They basically told me that I had gained weight, despite the fact I took pictures of the bust measuring at 35'' on the dress and sent them pictures to ensure my bust was still 41''. The are SCAMMERS!!! and prey on the fluctuating weight of women. My choices were to buy another dress in a bigger size or pay them a minimum of $80 to alter it. I refused to send the dress back and took it to a wonderful tailor in my area. They pulled the same scam on my now sister-in-law at her last fitting. Telling her that gaining weight is what being in love does to you and scammed her out of over $300 in alterations. She didn't have a choice because it was too close to the wedding. "Luckily" they had fabric for that dress in the store and was able to do the alterations. They are ridiculous and disappointing. read more

I cannot recommend Marcella's highly enough!!!! Marcella, Kassi, and Kate were AMAZING!!!! The most genuine, authentic, helpful, and kind hearted people you'll ever need to find your perfect dress. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. They truly love their work and it shows! They remembered what I wrote in the questionnaire, paid attention to every detail, and treated me like I was a precious princess. It felt like a second home. So warm, friendly, and accommodating. I was worried about my size, my skin, and when they helped me I forgot about every worry, anxiety, and felt so reassured and they made it so I didn't feel like a burden. This bridal shop is fabulous and has many gorgeous dresses, just not exactly what I was looking for. Where they go above and beyond is in how they help you visualize what you want in a dress. I found dresses that worked in some ways and not in others. I like straps, so they would bring out strapless dresses, and pin various material in manners that were stylish and gorgeous to show me what the modifications could do for me and the dresses. It wasn't until I came to Marcela's that I really got to see how customizable wedding dresses really are. I never felt like a burden with them and all they did to help me even understand my own desires. They also have a fabulous selection for plus sized people, understanding that we want to feel pretty as well (something that sometimes is forgotten). I would easily recommend this shop to anyone, especially those who want the more elegant, or those who want to go somewhere that can help you truly visualize modifications. Four stars is only because I cannot speak for the entire purchase and alterations process. read more

I can not explain how great my service was at Marcella's! The selection of gowns in my size was by far the best of any stores in the Spokane area. My stylist, Mikaila, did a great job of listening to what I wanted and making sure she talked me through each gown selection. She also had great knowledge of how they could alter the various dresses to get the different elements I wanted. I would suggest them to anyone! read more

The staff at Marcella's try to be very helpful and are definitely friendly, but unfortunately the workmanship and customer service ended there. After purchasing a dress, my first fitting was less than friendly, and I felt pressured into leaving things about the dress alone that I wanted to change. The very worst part was that my dress broke not once, but twice during my wedding day. When I put it on, one of the straps immediately broke, which as you can imagine was very upsetting during an already high stress day. I was lucky that my sister had a sewing kit and the skills to repair it on site, but know that not every bride is as equipped. Then again, at my reception, the other strap broke from the dress when one of my guests hugged me. I was quick enough to catch the top of the dress, in what would have been a very embarrassing situation for me, and again lucky that I wasn't left exposed to my wedding of 200 guests. Of course wedding dress shops do not have much repeat business, so I will not be back anyway, but I hope I can save other brides the heartbreak of spending so much on a dress and having the issues with it be a negative point in an otherwise beautiful and wonderful day. read more

I found my wedding gown here which was a great experience, Kassi and Marcella are wonderful and make you feel like apart of the family. I felt good about my purchase and haven't stopped thinking about my wedding dress since. I took my bridesmaids this weekend to pick dresses out and again had a very pleasant experience, Kassi helped me pick a style that complimented everyone and a color that I liked as well. The first time I came here it was because I drive by the shop almost every day and fell in love with this gorgeous dress in the window so I decided to go in and ask to see it, see how much it was and just get a feel for the store. The dress was a ballgown with hand sewn beadjng in the bodice. Gorgeous! Michelle spoke with me that day, she was amazing. The dress was priced way below what I expected for that amount of fabric and quality, she also let me know that it would be able to be ordered until the end of 2017. So I was sold, I knew I'd get my wedding gown from them in the future when I had more things planned out. The second time I had the pleasure of meeting these lovely ladies was today. I am a bridesmaid in an out of town wedding and I needed my measurements. I had called multiple tailors in the area to be told they don't do measurements. Cassie told me to come down and they would take care of me. She fit me in within 30 mins of me calling, it was just meant to be. Marcella herself did my measurements for me. What a doll! I can't wait for my third visit, which will be to try on gowns! read more

Found a lovely dress here at this store, staff were helpful and friendly. As a side note staff actually select dresses based on what you say is your price range, you as a customer dont get to walk around and look. The dress i selected was 6 sizes too large and I was told they would not be able to order one in my size and have it here in 3 months which was my wedding, at that point I was ready to be done looking having been at it all day. I ended up paying in addition to dress half the cost of the dress in alterations. Dress turned out beautiful read more

The initial visit was great, the service, from Cassie, was excellent. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We paid for the dress up front and had the dress altered to remove a shoulder strap. When my fiancee returned, one week before the wedding the dress was pretty much ruined. The shoulder strap had been removed and in its place was a large notch. The top of the dress was very asymmetrical and when my fiancee voiced her concern she was dismissed. Marcella actually told her that she had put the dress on crooked! My fiancee was sent on her way and was so hurt by the whole episode that it took her an entire day to show me the dress and when she did she broke down crying. At that point we had less than a week before we left for the wedding. I drove the 90 miles, again, and brought the dress in. The associate I spoke with was visibly shocked at the alteration and completely agreed with me that the dress alterations were 'unacceptable'. Marcella wasn't there and when she did call me back she was very nice at first but unwilling to provide any sort of acceptable resolution. In another phone call she finally offered to refund the price of the alterations, but this would have left us out almost $1000 dollars and with a ruined dress. Given no other options I have now sought legal relief for our losses. Such a mess... Please be aware and protect yourselves! read more

I loved my dress but for the price, I don't think that the dress should have ripped all the way across the front about an hour into the wedding/reception. It almost became a mini dress and thank goodness my friend could sew. My friend's two stitches in my dress lasted the rest of the night. Also we had trouble with the bustle staying up so my friends had to "make" a bustle by tying up the back of my dress. It looked like I had a bunny tail but it was better then the whole dress dragging and getting stepped on. After talking to Marcella about it she said that none of us knew how to work a bustle. Considering that there were many people who tried it at my wedding that have had to do a bustle before. It is not very hard and then she goes and insults us by saying it was our fault. Unfortunately most of the people at the wedding were very disappointed in the quality of the dress. My friend who got married a month before got her dress at Davids Bridal and spent a third on it and it lasted the whole night NO problems. I would not recommend this place. I wouldn't have been mad but she did not handle it well after we had all these problems and was very rude and blamed us. Very unprofessional. read more

I am so grateful for all of those ladies at Marcella's Bridal, including Marcella herself. After an appointment that didn't go so well for me because I was still unsure of the style I wanted, I left empty handed. Even when Marcella herself came and tried to put together my dream dress for me by transforming a dress I currently had on. I tried one more bridal shop with no luck and needed a break from trying on dresses. After happy hour with my mom and friends, I decided that the first dress that I tried on at Marcella's needed another shot. My mom called and the girl answered "Is this Emily?" and worked me into their schedule and was so helpful once I got to the store. Thanks Kassie! I am in love with my dress and my experience with Marcella's. It was a very "Say Yes to the Dress" experience and I am very pleased. The only thing that I would change about my experience would to be able to take photos of what you are trying on. My friend (without my knowledge) snuck a picture of that first dress I put on and ended up buying while we were at the store. And had I not had that picture to reflect on, I definitely would not have wanted to go back to the shop and eventually purchase that dress later that day. Thanks Marcella's! Love my dress! read more

Ordered my dress from here and absolutely love it! Loved that we were the focus of our consultant's attention and others who were available came and helped out. They were very determined to find me a dress that I would love, and gave me their full attention, which is more than I could say for other shops we visited. It was a little frustrating that we couldn't go back and look at the dresses ourselves, which meant we got off to a slow start, which was a bit discouraging at first -- but once we got everything explained and some other consultants started brainstorming on how I was describing the kind of dress I would want, they came out with the perfect one! Another thing -- we weren't allowed to take any photos, which is unfortunate, because my mom and Matron of Honor were taking photos of me in dresses at other shops so I would know how I'd look in photos at the wedding and how I looked from all angles/sitting down. I understand they were trying to make sure we weren't taking the photo to another shop to find something similar, but it would have been nice if a consultant could have taken photos and just shown me so we they would have the power of deleting them. I just want to make sure I'm not going to look super pudgy sitting down or walking down the aisle -- and with my need for glasses, looking in a handheld mirror to see the back of my dress through the main mirror was almost impossible for me to see. Overall it was a great experience. Just those two things kind of threw me off and is keeping me from five stars. Otherwise, I'm very excited, love my dress, and love the women there! Just had my say yes to the dress moment at Marcella's. I walked in with my daughters looking for a casual beach wedding dress (2nd marriage) not thinking I would find anything here - just too formal for me. Some would call it luck but I believe in something bigger. Story is too long to share but the short version is I got to work with Marcella without an appointment and she got me into a new sample dress and is going to alter it to be the perfect style and fit for our casual affair. I had actually already found the dress I was 99% sure I was going to end up getting. I made an appointment at Marcella's to have the "trying on experience" with my mom and cousin who live in the area. I had a morning appointment and then an afternoon appointment at another boutique. Walking into the shop I was immediately impressed. The décor was classy and cute. We were greeted at once and asked to fill out a questionnaire. Soon after we were introduced to our consultant Kimi. She was beyond great. Super sweet and friendly! She asked a lot of questions to get a sense of my style and the general feel of the wedding. I told her right off the bat I was pretty dead set on another dress. I showed her a picture. She pulled a few dresses and had me come back to try them on. At first I was a little unsure looking at what she chose on the hangers. She asked me to trust her and I am so glad I did! The very first dress took my breath away. It was so beautiful and I felt like a bride! We went through a few more and in the end put the first dress back on. We talked through a few minor alteration items, tried different belt and veil options. I felt like I was on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress! And I did!!!! I bought the dress and a veil right then! I pre paid for the alterations, which were VERY reasonably priced! When it was all said and done I came in under my budget and very happy with my dress! Kimi and the rest of the girls were beyond amazing! The whole experience was everything I imagined it to be. I have nothing negative to say at all! AMAZING!! Had the best experience at Marcella's today and found my dream dress thanks to the fantastic staff. I was able to make an appointment within the hour of calling. When we got there we were happily and quickly greeted by many of the staff members and even Marcella herself! As I sat down with my consultant she asked all kinds of questions about the wedding and then gathered dresses based on what she told me-this staff KNOWS what they're doing because all 5 of my first options were absolutely PERFECT!!! My sister-in-law-to-be recommended this place, as it was where she bought her wedding dress. I just went to try on some ideas, and fell in love with a dress. I was unsure, however, so they put the dress on hold for me while I went home. I called a week later, and they let me pay over the phone for the dress (as I live out of town). The staff is so professional, courteous, and responds to your needs. Marcella, the owner, and the staff remembered me personally when I visited 6 months later to do my alterations. Prices are very reasonable and for any budget, and they take the stress out of wedding dress planning. Very highly recommended! read more

Recently had a consultation at Marcella's. I filled out their "intake form" while waiting since we were early for our appointment. Shortly after we were greeted by the owner who had concerns about our budget. She informed us that the top of our price range was the price that their dresses START at. I found it odd that they didn't ask this question over the phone which would've saved us a trip. So we decided to bump our budget to see what we could find. They pulled 3 dresses, then left me alone in the fitting room to struggle into the dresses one by one. After trying on the last dress, they abruptly said that those were the only 3 dresses in the entire store in our budget. We were given a business card and then whisked out the door. We were in and out in 15 minutes for what was supposed to be a 1.5-2 hour appointment. Very discouraging and such a waste of our time. read more

Today was the only day I had a random gap in my schedule that allowed me to pop in. The woman behind the counter told me I would hear this at all bridal stores on a Saturday. That is not true. What a fabulous staff and beautiful dresses to choose from! I found my wedding dress at Marcella's and I couldn't be happier about the entire experience. Makaila was my bridal consultant who was so patient, creative, and willing to have me try on as many dresses as I asked to in order to be sure that the dress I found was "the one". It was extremely helpful that Makaila was knowledgeable in alterations (I think she mentioned that she does alterations at Marcella's) but she was able to take my feedback of what I didn't like about a dress and suggest how they could alter it to fit my personal taste. In the end I chose a dress that needed only a few alterations to fit me properly and Makaila itemized said alterations and included them on my invoice which was a relief because I disliked the unknown prices of alterations at other Bridal Shops in Spokane. It was refreshing to know exactly how much my alterations would cost upon purchasing my dress the day of my fitting! This was also the first store that the consultant "pinned" the dress to my body shape if it was too big or wasn't laying right. Which was a HUGE deal to me so I could then see how dresses would actually look on me if they fit correctly. So many stores in Spokane use those clamps but pinning was FAR more of an advantage in seeing how a dress was supposed to fit because she could get everything pulled so tightly. Makaila was professional in every way and I can't thank her and Marcella's enough for the amazing experience in finding my wedding dress! I am even more excited for my wedding next year (as if that was even possible)! THANKS AGAIN!!! read more

I went to Marcella's on good faith alone, and was very disappointed. I felt as though the consultant I had didn't listen to anything I said and was more concerned that I had found a dress I liked in another store than the fact that I was sitting in front of her, having clearly not bought it. The consultant, after showing me several lack luster dresses, shooed me out the door saying that there was nothing she could do if I was already in love with another dress. Which I wasn't. I felt as though I had wasted her time and cried about it afterwards, which is ridiculous because she had, in fact, wasted my time. Don't go here. It's really not worth it. read more

I started out having a great experience in the store but I had to have my dress shipped to me and that is where I would really not recommend this place. My dress arrived in a cheap box after two and a half weeks of being in the mail from only Spokane to Portland. It was hardly even folded and shoved into just a plastic bag. The bodice is incredibly lumpy and distorted, some of the folds in the front aren't done correctly, and there is a hook but no eye in the back of the dress. It is very obvious that this dress wasn't made with very much care. When I contacted the store they appeared as though they would be helpful, however the more I talked to them, the more excuses I got. After I sent them pictures they said that everything about the dress looked normal and that everything should be fixed with a little steam. They didn't even address the atrocious way they shipped my dress to me. They offered to have me ship the dress back up to them (they never offered to pay for that or refund me even a part of the large amount they charged me for shipping) or they offered to let me drive 6 hours to Spokane for them to take a look at the dress. You could tell they just wanted me to go away and deal with the dress on my own. Which I decided to do because they were being absolutely no help. I would not suggest Marcella's and I wish I could return the dress they sent me and go elsewhere so that my wedding dress experience could be better. read more

My experience with Marcella's left a very bad taste in my mouth. I initially went it for a consultation and the consultant was very helpful and accommodating, which left me excited to work with Marcella's. Fast forward to me winning a $750 gift certificate, and the customer service flying out the window. I won the GC at the bridal fair but at this point had already purchased a dress. I gave the GC to a friend of mine (my mistake), but still planned on using Marcella's for my alterations, accessories, bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses and mother of the bride dresses. When my friend tried to use the GC to purchase a dress, they told her she could not use it because they had the name of the winner (me), and ultimately confiscated the gift certificate. I have been trying for months to use the gift certificate to purchase a reception dress for myself but have been given every reason under the sun as to why the GC could not be used. First they said they had no way to verify I was the winner (but they told my friend she couldn't use it bc they had the winners name). They told me it was expired (wrong, it expires 12/31/19). Then they told me I couldn't use it for bridesmaid dresses ( I reiterated I was trying to use it for a wedding dress) and now I have been waiting for close to four weeks for a call back from Marcella. I am opting to leave $750 on the table as opposed to dealing with this bridal salon any further. Wedding planning is stressful enough, if you want to work with a bridal salon who does what they say they are going to do, and follow up when they are going to, I do not recommend Marcella's. read more

I can not begin how to express how greatfull I am for the staff at Marcella's, and especially Marcella herself! I am from Missoula, MT and had been to many other bridal shops both at home and in Spokane, and this was by far the best. I checked into my appointment and was greeted with flavored water and taken to a private showing area. This was the first store that actually had soneone ask me what my fiancé 's name was, where I was getting married and about my colors. She then pulled 3 dresses that were all exactly what I had in mind. I knew my dress when I saw it on the hanger and bought it right then. I am still amazed how it took exactly 5 mintues for her to figure out what I wanted, and better yet they had it! The staff was very accomodating with the fitting schedule since I live out of town, and did an impeccable job with the final product. I was blown away with how professional and courteous the staff were, and I loved that Marcella was right there helping put on my dress, fitting it and teaching my bridesmaid to keep it safe on the ride home. I can not say enough good things about this place, I am highly recommending this classy and elegant place to any bride to be! read more

Pros: Really down to earth, nice staff. A pleasure to be around and very helpful. I really loved the owner; she was a super awesome lady. If you enjoy the full service model, this place is great. You let an associate know what you're looking for and they bring a myriad of styles for you to try. (I am a browser and self-shopper, so this is not my preferred M.O.) My dress was truly a beautiful dress in its original form, but I wish I would have gone for a dress that fit my style with less alteration plans. Cons: The personal-assistant style of dress selection. I know this wouldn't represent everyone's experience here, but could easily happen - the person helping me was SO nice, and listened so well to my ideas, sitting through my 20-30 pictures of what I as looking for. She started out with a couple of ball-park dresses, listening to me hone in on what I liked and didn't...but each dress she pulled became further away from what I wanted and started to represent more and more of what I explicitly didn't want. I thought it might have been my terrible feedback, but it wasn't - a friend who was with me saw a dress hanging in view that matched my description MUCH better, and ended up being the dress I picked. The timeline of service. I mean, I DID get my dress on the day of my wedding, so that was good. However, the timeline of retrieval and alterations up to that date weren't optimal. There were several mysterious postponements of my dress' arrival (by 6-8 weeks at a time)...until I firmly suggested it should have arrived by now, followed by my dress magically showing up a week later. In totality, my dress arrived 5-6 months after I bought it! I had some pretty significant stylistic alterations planned and scheduled for my dress, and wanted to see them well before my wedding date so I could see MY dress and make any fit-related alterations in time. My first meeting was great, and minor hemming alterations were complete at my next meeting. During 2nd meeting, the major alterations were discussed further in length, drawn and measured out, and said to be ready for the 3rd meeting to discuss and place my final minor alteration plan. When I came to my 3rd meeting, nothing had been done to my dress at all. So the alterations that should have been completed at the 3rd meeting and the final alteration were going to be lumped together at once and seen at my final alteration meeting.... All of these alterations were made to my dress and seen THREE DAYS before my wedding. When something didn't fit right from the new alterations, I was told I would have a ridiculously priced rush fee for them to fix it. I hate making negative comments or even having negative thoughts about customer service, so I was embarrassed to have to be compelled to say that my alterations SHOULD have been completed 6 weeks ago at the last meeting they weren't done for, and I would have otherwise been able to comment on this then. The rush fee was of course immediately removed from my price quote (and this was greatly appreciated). After (honestly, overpriced) alterations were said and done..I was not very happy. I didn't get the "this is perfect" feel that I thought I would have. The areas of my dress that were altered for stylistic reasons ended up not fitting very well and were not super flattering. Overall, if you enjoy having someone pick dresses for you, and plan to find a dress that requires no more alterations than a hem, this place has great friendly people to assist you with that! However, I would be mindful about decisions if you may need anything further, or if you (like me) like to have your dress and other things planned out in a timely manner. read more

Horrible! The dresses are very poor quality and all the people there care about is getting your money. Ever wonder why none of the dresses there have designer tags? Because they are cheaply made rip-offs most likely. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that cares enough to stock quality merchandise and treat you like a human being. read more

About four years ago, my friend had her dress custom made by Marcella and had a great experience. I went to Marcella because of that, yet my experience was very different. Getting my dress made by Marcella was the most stressful part of planning a wedding. When I picked up my dress three weeks before our wedding day, I was not happy with the way it looked. I asked Marcella about the bubbles in the fabric, yet she said she could not fix it. She said that because it was a low-back dress, that the fabric would do that naturally. I felt discouraged and took it home anyway, hoping that in a different space the dress would appear better. I was back at Marcella's early the next morning with a friend to complain. Only then did Marcella tell me that she made the dress too big! She let me leave with a dress knowing that it was not my size! And to try to make me feel better, so that I didn't feel alone, she mentioned that she messed up on two other dresses that same week! She said she would remake the top of the dress to fit but complained that her husband would not be happy about her having to work extra hours, which was very unprofessional. I came back a few days before my wedding to try on my dress, and this time it was too small. In order to not have a ton of cleavage, we had to lower the bra pads to an unnaturally low level. I was so mad but there was nothing at this point that could be done. I had to make the dress work so I took it home. Then, to top it all off, the night before our wedding, the seam under my left arm (about five inches) completely came undone! My bridesmaid had to sew it up for me because there wasn't time to drive to Marcella's to get it fixed. I emailed Marcella a long email after the wedding explaining everything and never even got a reply. If you buy a dress off the rack from this store, I am sure you will have a fine experience, but I definitely do not recommend ever getting a custom dress made. read more

Bring an attorney with you to look at dresses. I was with a young girl, who was pressured into purchasing a 1500.00 dress (supposedly one of a kind from a bridal show) . The dresses they gave her to try on were three sizes too small. She bought the dress, only to have the wedding called off hours later. The dress never left the shop, yet they refused to return a call, did not answer the leeter and reufsed ANY kind of refund arrnagements, not even an option of a stocking fee. The sales agreement, according to them is a LEGAL agreement, so if you buy from Marcella's Bridal, good luck. They were nasty and rude and unwilling to work with the distressed bride in any way. I would not treat a rabid dog in the manner she was treated. We will forever boycott Marcella's Bridal. Who brings an attoney with them to look at dresses ? No morals, no ethics, no compassion and flat out did not care about the hardship incurred. Nastiest business experience I have ever encountered. read more
