We just had a very unfortunate experience at the Bellfort Marble Slab in Meyer Park. We decided to celebrate my son's baseball win with his grandparents who had driven all the way from Dickinson with some ice cream. We ordered 6 ice creams and my dad ordered a rum flavored ice cream, but it did not taste good at all. Unfortunately, he hadn't tasted it first. We asked to please have it replaced with another ice cream, but the employee told us that he should've tasted it first because she wouldn't replace it. She said ¨why would I give you a free ice cream?¨ He had barely eaten any, but we all tasted it and not only did it not have a rum flavor, it did not taste good at all. Not even try and eat. So we gave it back to show it wasn't just a preference thing, even though we had paid for it. I looked in the tub and his serving was the only one that had been scooped out of the tub. The employee said "You think it doesn´t taste good, but no one else has had a problem with it and I don´t have a problem with it¨ I pointed out that apparently no one had even ordered it, because the tub was still full and she tried to tell me that they had just switched out the tubs. When we left it on the counter, the employee pointed to the trash can and said "The trash is right there. " because for some reason she didn't want to pick it up and throw it away from the counter. We asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I asked for a contact to the store manager or owner and she refused to give me anything other than a name, saying that we should look it up ourselves. She also refused to give me the phone number to the store and also said I should look it up myself. Only after I started videoing the incident did she look up the number and write it down, with the comment, "you know that's the number to here and we are the ones that are going to pick up the phone.¨ She turned a celebratory occasion into a disappointing, awful and frustrating experience. We have celebrated so many kid wins here as customers at this store for 8 years. So disappointing. read more

Geez Louise, after reading all the negative reviews I had to sit back and ask myself if maybe I'm just being too generous with my star rating... then I snapped back to my senses and remembered that I rate everywhere I go, honestly! I've never had a bad experience here, and this marble slab is probably the closest one to where I live, so I've been hear a decent amount of times. While I am very open minded, when it comes to my ice cream, I usually stick to what I like from marble slab. Cinnamon ice cream, with reese's peanut butter cups and butterfinger mixed in. DELICIOUS! I took my wife and daughter here last night and it was a complete and utter failure. The employees here have absolutely no training or manners. This and the fact that all three of our ice creams were served half melted which is utterly ridiculous on a cone. I asked why the ice cream was in this state and the girl behind the counter stated that there was something wrong with the refrigeration. She did not apologize or offer anything to make it right but had no problem charging us $20 for 3 cones. This place has basically hit bottom, if you're looking for good ice cream and good service, this is definitely not the place to go. We asked for a business card and the managers number, of course they refused, I wonder why?! I told them I would get it online. Do yourself a favor and don't go here...ever. read more

Worst Customer Service by the manager! Refused to give me her name. Refused to give the corporate number. Refused to give a copy of my receipt. I could have easily found the corporate number online but wanted her to provide it to me. She had given me a copy of my receipt but I usually throw them away as I have seen how much I paid for and no longer needed it but after the rudeness and attitude, she decided to give me I wanted another copy of my receipt so when I call corporate I could provide them with precise information regarding the transaction. Well, the manager said "I provided you with one" Me: I just told you I trashed it can I have another one. Her response " WELL THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM YOU CAN GET OUT THE TRASH YOURSELF". I'd heard of Coldstone Creamery before moving to TX- we had those in Chicago, although I'd only ever been there once. (Chicago weather means short, short window of ice cream being appealing each year, IMO). My ability to mix chunks of birthday cake into birthday cake flavored ice cream made it fairly memorable, although I was a bit incredulous about the whole "mixing my ice cream on the counter with a spatula" thing. I mean, I worked in an ice cream shop for three years during highschool, and as some say in Chicago: "that don't be clean". But whatever- Marble Slab (a less appealing name than 'Cold Stone'), allowed me to bring my dogs into the shop, which meant Jim and I could actually stand and browse flavors at the same time. They were out of cake batter ice cream (Khaaaaaan!), so I put together the dubious combination of peppermint ice cream (mmm), oreos (mmm), and peanut butter cups (?!) Jim got another flavor I desperately want to try- cinnamon (we had that at my old job- and it was my favorite with some chocolate jimmies on top). Ice cream was.... fine. Nothing overly special, apart from some of the cool flavors. This shopping center is desolate. Maybe it needs a Washateria to help bring in the crowds. ;) Barring something local and interesting, I'm voting for the vacant building next to the Shlotsky's to either be an Olive Garden (hmm space too small), an Applebee's (meh, but I their side order sampler makes me nostalgic), a Chipotle (for Jim), or a really big Jamba Juice. read more

Stopped by here for a thick milk shake. There were no actual customer only several teens hanging by the registrar with the female cashier. I ordered an extra thick milk shake which came out extra milky so I had to ask for another. The two female employees that were there had barricaded the door by 9:25 p.m. online and on the window it stated that they close at 10 p.m. the door was still unlocked and I opened it and ask them if they would serve us and they completely ignored me they turned away another man that was in a blue car as well as another truck with four other potential customers. Get the register and instead of the price i was used to it was $ 7.34!! I asked why she said because you ordered the Waffle Bowl I told her I asked for a cone though!! I normally come here to get a quick snack since I live close, but tonight, two younger Hispanic young ladies displayed horrible customer service. I kinda think this post won't change much, but there were two young ladies in the store tonight, one came out the bathroom when I walked in...and the other was watching something on tv. When I was ready to order, I had to break up their conversation...then when I was pointing to what I wanted, one young lady drifted off to the tv, so the young lady that came out the bathroom served me...but I noticed she didn't wash her hands. Just left marble slab. Not a good experience at all. We arrived close to closing at 9:40pm the chairs were already up. We walked in with two other men also arriving to get ice cream. The girl behind the counter had head phones in and seemed a little startled and irritated we were there. She told us we could only get ice cream that couldn't be mixed. I told her I wanted sweet cream but I wanted Reese's even if it wasn't mixed. While she was making mine the other girl working came from outside and asked my nephew what he wanted. He said he wanted the blue ice cream with gummy bears. She proceeded to put the ice cream on the slab to mix it until the first girl helping me went over and told her she had told us she couldn't mix it. The girl stopped making my nephews and did not put gummy bears in it. We were charged the same price for all three even though they weren't the same orders. We weren't greeted, weren't thanked and they didn't say goodbye. Our ice cream was disappointing without being prepared as we expected it to be and it cost 24$. My daughter and I always eat at this creamery. Today we both decided to eat Vanilla ice cream when we both noticed the sour taste of the ice cream. When we arrived home I called to let them know that their Vanilla was sour the young man on the phone either couldnt understand English or couldnt understand what I was telling him. He argued with me, which was just a series of "no's".. then I finally said " just taste your vanilla and if its sour to you replace it" he responded ok and hung up. I didnt demand a free cone or even a refund, I just want them to check their product. Not my last time going, but I will ask for samples before ordering.. lesson learned. read more
