Got here shortly after noon on a Monday, and many of their options were not available. Vegan and the Deluxe options were, though, so we chose from those two groups. Still found some stuff that would hit the spot. This store is about the size of an ice cream shop; rather small, but with bar-style ledges and stools to sit on if you choose. There are some ice creams that are available, too. Service was quick and friendly. Cookies boxed in the classic Insomnia Cookies box, and they actually stay pretty fresh in there for several days (if they last that long!). Just didn't give me what I needed 3 bites and the cookie is done and I don't take large bites of anything, doctor says chew your food thoroughly, LOL I could go on about the cookies and cream and the mint chocolate chip but you get my drift. I was displeased. For a $4-5 cookie, it shouldn't be tiny unless it has gold flakes in it and not flat and dense like a pancake. It should be WOW in your mouth. Activate Cookie Monster Mode! I visited here for the first time (I've heard mixed reviews about Insomnia Cookies, so I had to try it for myself). The cookies are definitely warm, soft and delicious- I can see why folks come to get their sugar fix here. I ordered the "Cookie-wich" made with two Cookies of your choice with a scoop of ice cream in between. I chose Sugar cookies with Chocolate ice cream! It definitely hit the spot. Price was decent. P.S. if wanting a Cookie-wich with their featured Cookies it may be considered "deluxe" and cost more. Me and my friends decided to eat our sweet treats inside. There's plenty of bar style seating if you want to hang out. Also, lots of parking (private, street and garage). Cute place, but the only thing I'd say they need to consider is offering water (Pitcher of free water, cups) to customers who do stay. I needed it, and the only thing iffered to me was bottled water available for purchase. They were low on milk options too. Service was ok, they didn't give "we're excited to serve you!" My friend recommended me to try Insomnia Cookies. Because he won't eat any other cookies, including the ones I made. So, I agreed to try it today. Getting here is the usual route to Rice Village, except the direction to the store was confusing. The parking lot is very narrow. I had to carefully drive through it. According to the website, the founder started the business while he was studying at night in his dorm. He wanted something warm and sweet. I understand how he felt. I would want something delicious to keep me awake, too. That concept took off and the company expanded from his dorm room to all over the country. Here at Rice Village, near Rice University is no exception. But my experience wasn't as good as other reviewers. For the sake of argument, the service needs improvement. The cashier had insomnia and kept asking me if I was ready. No! The menu is so tiny. I have to take a picture and enlarge it on my phone. I got the chocolate chunks classic cookies. They came out warm and soft. The melted chocolate was the highlight of the tasting sensation. But the soft dough kind of worries me. Sorry. I'm too critical because I bake my own cookies. Okay, so this is just an ice cream review. We walked in set on getting cookies. I had no idea they had ice cream. It was a hit! Delish! I had the Caramellionaire and I definitely recommend! Bar seating against the wall and front of the store looking outwards. Lots of traffic coming in and out of the store. I'm guessing it's something like Tiff's treats, being that the cookies are warm and they deliver. Parking is free, but it's right. Came here around 11:30pm on a Wednesday. Service was slow but understandable as their was a line wrapped around the store and just one cashier and one person baking cookies. It seems like the customers are the ones holding up the lines but not knowing what they want or wanting to try every ice cream available in the shop. I had a terrible experience at this location. I understand we walked in during the last 10 minutes before closing, but the store was still open. From the moment we entered, the employee named Sephora had an attitude Because it was near the end of the shift, she wasn't sure which cookies were left, so every time we asked about one, she had to walk back and check. Instead of handling it professionally, she became visibly irritated. When I asked if she was okay, she told us we were "stressing her out," then rudely tossed our box of cookies at us. To make matters worse, she told us to leave before even serving the ice creams we had ordered. We didn't even receive all the cookies we paid for. I've never been treated with such disrespect in an establishment. I let her know this isn't how customers should be treated. I wanted to try Insomnia cookies because I saw they had a promo going for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth collaboration. I called the hotline to make sure they had the FF sleeves and put my order in for 1 large box of 12 cookies and 1 lil dipper box with 12 small chocolate chip cookies and a small tub of cream cheese frosting. The cookies were delivered promptly. While they weren't as warm as I expected, they still tasted pretty good. I liked the cream cheese frosting a lot and the larger cookies were soft and crispy on the outer edge. I was surprised the larger cookies were still soft the next day. My favorite were the white chocolate macadamia which has a little coconut. The small cookies were pretty hard the next day, but nothing a microwave could not fix. On to the final fantasy sleeves. They were just printed paper but slip over the box making them look very nice. Also just a shout out--the call rep said they were random, but I put the one I wanted on the large box and they actually gave it to me. That really made my day. My sisters and I were up late and had a sweet tooth craving and this place was open so we decided to drop by and give it a chance. We ordered and as soon as my sister ordered her cookie she was informed that they were out and it would be about 20 minutes till they had more, so she just decided to choose a different one. We went to take a seat and ordered at 12:19 am and didn't get both of our cookies til 12:39 am... we waited 20 minutes for cookies we didn't even want in the first place??! We chose the different cookies because we thought we were gonna get our cookies right then and there yet we were made to wait anyways and for cookies we did not want. The place wasn't clean and had people's left ice cream cups on tables and sticky tables where ice cream residue wasn't cleaned off. I looked down at my feet and there was a roach crawling on the floor :( The cookies are super mid, and their ice cream is basic. It's really overpriced too, $27 is crazy for two desserts. I used to be a huge fan of Insomnia cookies but it has changed. Insomnia cookies were really good a couple years back but when I got it recently, it tasted completely different. They were kinda busy but the cashier was super nice. I had to wait for bit because the cookies were in the oven. One of the main reasons I like the location is because of the view. I'm able to just stare out the window and eat cookies. I got the Super 6, which includes 5 cookies and a deluxe; it came out to be ~$18. Once I received the cookies, I noticed it looked a bit different but I brushed it off. Once I actually tried it, it did taste slightly different otherwise it was the same. It wasn't super busy when I arrived, but it did pick up while I was there. Insomnia shares some similarities with other cookie shops. They serve the cookies warm and this location has ice cream. The price varies from $2-4 depending on if you get a classic cookie or a deluxe cookie. I ordered the oatmeal chocolate walnut and the triple chocolate jumbo cookie. Both cookies are deluxe and were about $4 each. They were so good and so soft! They're also pretty large and can easily be shared. They have barstool seating so you can sit down and eat your cookies while they're still warm if you want. The parking lot is kind of tight; It may be difficult to park in a larger car, but since it's Rice Village, there's garages and street parking available if needed. Because I'm very sad there's not an Insomnia closer to me. --- --- --- I have heard about Insomnia Cookies for years now, but have never had the opportunity to patronize a location. 4 days earlier, I ate dinner next door and as I pulled up, I was so excited to see that I was finally going to be able to experience Insomnia. As soon as I was done eating, I walked over and was surprised to find the door locked. Someone quickly opened it and said that they were having their grand opening on Tuesday and handed me a coupon. Sadly, I quickly discarded the coupon because I am virtually never in Rice Village and knew it might be months before I'd return. But as fate would have it, I ended up having a work meeting on that very Tuesday, a couple of blocks from here. As soon as I realized it, I immediately planned on making a quick detour over to Insomnia. Because I was headed to dinner shortly after, I didn't want to fill up on too much stuff, but it was tempting to order virtually the entire menu. I stayed away from the ice cream, reluctantly, and just ordered a few cookies: salted caramel, peanut butter chocolate, macadamia nut and classic with M&M's. All of them were honestly great. And the salted caramel was warm and heavenly. I could eat one of those daily for 62 years without getting tired of it. I've been waiting for an Insomnia Cookies location to finally open in Houston ! Hurray it's finally here! I previously lived in Philly and would get insomnia all the time so I knew exactly what flavors I wanted to get. It was opening week and they were having a special of get a free cookie in store and with delivery orders. I was more than happy to get 7 cookies total. :) my favorite has always been double chocolate chip. The featured flavors (berries n cream and blue berry ribbon) were the fruity flavors and I actually enjoyed eating them. I wasn't completely enthused about the peanut butter chip and the white chocolate macadamia, but they weren't terrible. The cookies came out hot and fresh. My only complaint is that the cookies were a little too soft! They easily broke when I tried picking them up. Not a big fan of that and I don't recall the ones back in Philly being like that. However, I will say I still enjoy these cookies in comparison to Crumbl because I find Crumbl to be overly sweet and dry. Insomnia is cheaper, decent size, and not overly sweet. I love how Insomnia also has vegan cookies (with strict policies to avoid cross contamination) and they offer non-dairy milk options. So many milk choices - strawberry, chocolate, reduced fat, whole milk, original oat milk, and chocolate oat milk. They have 8 different ice cream flavors and toppings to make your cookiewiches. You can download their app and order ahead of time. Plus, you can collect points as well! Parking can be limited with the other surrounding businesses. I ordered a 4+4 pack with the help of the associates, sampling pretty much everything they had on the menu. Even the brownie. The cookies are so soft , so sweet. I was sitting at velvet taco minding my business and looked up! To my surprise I saw Insomnia cookie right across the street! I have friends in other cities that rant and rave about this place and I wondered why we didn't have in Houston but looks like we do now and it opened up a couple of weeks ago. I'm very biased because there is a cookie shop here in Houston that is very near and dear to my heart but my friend swore that Insomnia cookie is better so I had to give them a try. Boy was he wrong! I'm sorry but these cookies just didn't do it for me. They seems a little dry to me, weren't very warm and wasn't worth the price in my opinion. They have options of classic and deluxe cookies that come in two sizes: a standard cookie size and the a slightly bigger one for the deluxe. I was told that some of the deluxe flavors are limited so they change out from time to time. They do have vegan options and they also sell ice cream. They close at midnight during the week, 1AM on the weekends and 3AM when college classes are in session so I guess that's where the name comes from. It's not a bad option if you're looking for a late night dessert place to be open but it honestly wouldn't be my first (or second) choice if I'm specifically looking cookies. The workers that were working last night were very sweet and knew of them helped "pimp out" my vegan cookie because it wasn't what I expected (I thought it came with a glaze on it but it didn't so I got some icing added to it).
