Disclaimer: I'm not a big ice cream person. The restaurant is cute and stays open late so it's a great space to meet up with a friend, do a date night, or bring the kids. After a not so stellar meal at the big name restaurant in the same shopping center, we needed something sweet to cleanse our palates and end on a high note. Ice cream sounded like a good idea, but ice cream made using liquid nitrogen sounded entertaining as well. It was later in the evening so the lines were not too long. The young folks working there were nice and gave great recommendations. You have a couple of options. The first option is to create your own creation. Pick a size first. Then you pick a base. The base options are milk, organic, coconut, or sorbet. Next is toppings. Each topping is a buck, so this can get spendy quickly. For an additional charge you can get a waffle bowl, brownie bowl or chocolate bowl. This option is good if you have a specific creation in mind, but again, it gets expensive and you can easily mess it up. I like to go with one of their creations. I went with the Cookie Monster which has, Chips Ahoy Cookies, Oreo Cookies, Chocolate Fudge Drizzle, and Whipped Cream. I'm a sucker for cookies and cream and this was just that. My date had the affogato which is espresso poured over ice cream. You can get this at alot of places though. Delicious nonetheless. They make each order fresh so there's no tasting different flavors until you find something you like. Watching them make it is a show and really cool to see. Food science is cool in my book! Got a single scoop of sea salt caramel. Texture wise, probably one of the best. Very thick & creamy. You can definitely tell they use quality ingredients. The flavor was off. It's such a fun experience to see the ice cream not only being made freshly just for you but also made with liquid nitrogen within minutes! My favorite part is just knowing that they are making the ice cream with just the base of real milk with no other additives or artificial flavors. Ok wow! If you've never tried nitrogen ice cream this is the spot. Came here on a weekend I tried their Affogato with a coffee ice cream scoop from their specialty items (you can pick from their variety of ice cream flavors). So many good things to say but I will start by saying their ice cream was creamy and solid with almost like a malt texture but smoother on your palate. This was a nice little nook in the strip across from the Galleria. The ice cream was pleasant and the service was great. Upon walking in, it just feels like an ice cream shop inside. There was a lady and a gentleman working and the lady helped explained the menu to us and how their service worked. She was very nice and helpful. When making your ice cream creation, they use a mixer for the ice cream. Liquid nitrogen is also used which creates a large cloud of smoke. It's really cool visually and something the little ones will love. Creamistry has a bunch of options involving a variety of toppings and sauces or you can create your own. While it doesn't come cheap, it's really, really good stuff. A lot of creative options and it's the ice cream itself that speaks to me. The liquid nitrogen gives the ice cream more thickness than your usual variety. Join their rewards program for periodic discounts. read more
