Red Velvet, Dark Chocolate/Olive Oil/Sea Salt, Caramel Salt Lick

Stopped by this spot for some ice cream dessert. This place was recommended as a place to try when visiting Texas. Staff was very friendly and patient. Opted for 3 scoops consisting of Dark Chocolate & Olive Oil, Red Velvet, and Salted Caramel. All were quite satisfying. The one flavor that stood out to me was their Dark Chocolate & Olive. Recommend to anyone visiting Texas!

For the last few months I've been receiving social media ads nonstop about this ice cream spot, so I'm glad I finally decided to come in. For a Friday night, it wasn't busy at all, was well lit and had convenient parking nearby. The flavors are SUPER unique, and to my surprise, the roasted beets and fresh mint combo was actually good. The service was fast and friendly; the associate was happy to have me try as many flavors as I wanted before deciding on the caramel apple cake and coffee with cream.

Service was very quick with easy access to 15 minute parking in front of the store. The flavors are very different and I wasn't feeling too risky so I played it safe. The coffee with cream with so good I wish I got a second scoop. The sweet cream with strawberry was also good, it almost tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch though? The ice cream is really good and smooth and was a decent price for two scoops.

It was really good ice cream. Great flavors and the combo flavors worked well together. The goat cheese, thyme, honey was my favorite but so many of them were good. The employee was very nice and friendly. The only issue is he couldn't validate our parking because the system asked for a password and he didn't know it. Please make sure they know the password.

I tried a scoop of the fresh mint and chocolate chunk ice cream. I liked that the ice cream wasn't artificially colored. The mint flavor was prominent and I enjoyed the chocolate chunks very much. Solid ice cream... in a cute area as well!

Great spot for ice cream and they have VEGAN OPTIONS! Located in the Autry Park development, Lick Ice Cream is mostly a walk up spot (seating is a little limited) to grab a sweet treat while you're in the area or visiting the nearby Buffalo Bayou Park. Unfortunately the parking is limited to paid street parking or the nearby garage (I didn't get a chance to ask if they validate) although you could park a couple of blocks away on one of the few free parking streets and walk up. They have a bunch of unique flavors including rotating seasonal flavors and a few dairy-free options. Feel free to sample as many as you would like before committing to a particular flavor. I'm dairy free and tried all of their three options before picking one flavor without any problem. I've been twice now and have tried the vegan chocolate chocolate and the vegan RumChata and both are excellent. Creamy, flavorful and not overly sweet. I've also visited their West U location and I have to say, this location is better. The service has always been more friendly and the portion sizes are more generous. Definitely check them out and as they say, Lick Y'all!

Cute ice cream shop in the Autry Park development. We came here for a post dinner dessert after eating at Doko. They had some bizarre, but in a good way, flavors as well as all of the go to flavors. Ice cream was good and we would come back if we were having dinner in the development already, but we probably wouldn't go out of our way to make a stop here given that the parking isn't super convenient and appears to be mostly valet with limited paid street parking.

Located in Autry Park, this Lick Honest Ice Cream location was perfect during this hot, Houston summer. We came here after dinner nearby and enjoyed our ice cream in the beautiful park. I was surprised to read the other reviews about the bad service they received here. We didn't have any problems service wise, maybe the manager fired the previously rude employee that other reviewers mentioned. Don't let those other reviews stop you from coming here, Lick has some honestly good ice cream! Our favorite flavors were the caramel salt lick, dark chocolate olive oil sea salt, and their seasonal blueberry crumble. We were able to sample a couple other flavors too before deciding. After having been to the Austin locations as well, I'm really glad they opened in Houston also. Enjoy!

I got the beet & mint flavor. It doesn't taste like what it sounds like but yet it does. It's so smooth and I felt like it was a healthy ice cream. lol! This was a great place! Glad to see they have other locations

That alone made the experience feel thoughtful and welcoming. They are also open late, which I loved. I had already dined in the area, so this ended up being the perfect post dinner treat. I have been here before, but it had been a long time, and it was great to return and enjoy it again. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the overall environment made it easy to relax and enjoy the moment. I ordered a kid's cup, and it was honestly the perfect amount. Anything larger would have been too much for me, so the price point felt very fair for the portion and quality. I also tried the macaron and the tea. Both were fine but nothing standout for me. I have had better macarons and better tea elsewhere, and as someone who really appreciates good tea, it was decent but not something I would go back for specifically. That said, the gelato alone is absolutely worth returning for and even making a drive for. The space itself is very small and cozy, more of a boutique style spot. It is ideal for individuals, couples, or very small groups. Larger groups may prefer to enjoy their treats outdoors around the plaza and then move along, as this is more of a grab and go or short stay kind of place. Overall, I would definitely be back. The gelato is truly the star here and well worth it.

Consequently, Yelpers should not be surprised the…read moreparking is mostly in paid lots, just like in every major city in the US--Cocos does not deserve to lose a star for this as in some reviews that brought down their average. You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.
