I've had the bagels two days in a row and they are very good, but we went to eat inside with our nonverbal special needs family member. The owner was quite rude and told his mother. dog could not be in there and then said he was elbowed by the nonverbal gentleman. It was appalling on how this owner spoke to our family. Edited- I find it very interesting that Cynthia is contributing to my review where interaction described below was with a 50 something man wearing a grey tshirt with a marathon bagels logo. If that is Cynthia, I apologize. We felt unwelcome from the start by those working the counter shouting at us to close the door as our party was trying to get in and my disabled person who sat at a table by the door and was identified by the service dog and was threatened by a man in a grey tshirt with a marathon bagels logo that was short with us trying to sit down because we didn't do it quickly enough. So much so the rest of our party was rattled and my person took the rest of the day to calm down from the bulling by the guy in the grey shirt I don't know who Cynthia is. And why she's responding to this interaction. On 11/26 we brought 10 folks in for breakfast including our significantly disabled adult son and his service dog. As we were settling down our adult nonverbal son into a seat and trying to move his service dog out of the way of the line, someone that I assumed was the owner, aggressively told me the dog wasn't welcome and when I explained she was a service dog he barked that I needed to mover her out of the way of the line which I was actively doing. I decided it wasn't the local business for us and our party tried to leave. While leaving my son, watching 2 barney dvds on portable dvd players , was verbally threatened by the owner. My son is nonverbal and had a severe intellectual disability. I would like to remind the owner that not all disabilities are someone in a chair and maybe stop and take a minute. Our entire party of 10 was shaken up by the aggressive and intolerant nature of the encounter as we always shop local when we are traveling. The bagels are great but because of today we will never shop here again ending a 10 year streak as it was the first time we didn't do something togo and brought my son in to eat in person. It takes a special kind of person to threaten a service dog and a severely disabled adult who are just trying to leave after the owner made clear we were not welcome in his establishment. If you are looking for acceptance if you happen to be disabled complete with having a service dog identifying you as such this isn't the place. It is the exact opposite of our experience with marathon businesses for the last 20 years. Edited to address Cynthia who owns the business didn't actually interact interact with us. And barking at me to move the service dog which again I was doing. Your male person in the grey tshirt that we had all interaction with and had no patience with us as a group walking in and then threatened my disabled adult venerable person. We welcome it At the end of the day Cynthia, you decided to pick a fight with a family that was trying to have breakfast at your restaurant and not tolerating someone that was disabled with their identified service dog because they didn't move as fast as you wanted them too. That makes you the a**hole. And your staff that enforced your position. We are allowed to be in a restaurant without "if I may, it may be best if you stay out side."Can I give the ada around service dogs and disabled patrons? What you and your people did was discrimination. My son just walked out he didn't purposefully elbow you. You were no were to be seen. He interacted with staff in the grey shirt who had threatened my son for walking past. You were looking for a fight because you didn't understand what you were seeing. And no worries. We were looking for a breakfast place on Marathon and found this place through its Yelp reviews and proximity to our condo. This place is phenomenal. Fast, clean, efficient. We walked in on a Saturday morning and the place was hopping! The smell is like a warm hug and I can't wait to come back. We got the Lox Bagel, Belly Buster Bagel, Cinnamon Crunch Bagel Toasted, and American Bowl. This is the best lox bagel I have ever had, hands down. The lox is perfect and melts in your mouth. Pair that with the onion, capers, cream cheese, thinly sliced tomatoes, and an everything bagel, and enter nirvana. The belly buster is delicious! I added Mayo and chose the garlic bagel. Go with a plain bagel, or something less powerful than the garlic. It was delicious, but if you aren't a garlic fan, it can be a tad overwhelming. I happen to love garlic and loved this sandwich. Secondly, after reading these reviews I've noticed the owners lack of sympathy and care towards how customer's experiences have been. Definitely won't be returning. We drove up from Key West, FL this morning without eating. By the time we got to Marathon, Fl at 1:15pm we were starving. We wanted breakfast food and found Marathon Bagel. They were closing at 2pm, so we got our order in just in time. We had French toast, 2 scrambled eggs, bacon and coffee. 5 Stars for everything. The bacon was exceptional as was our whole meal. The service is great there. It's a nice little store in a strip mall setup. The food is amazing and the prices go right with the quality.

Bagels were good but the atmosphere takes away from the food. Signage where you place your order insists that you tip them for taking said order and handing you the food. Before a visit to the Turtle Hospital, my wife and I stopped at Marathon Bagel for breakfast. She got a plain bagel with Oreo cream cheese while I went redundant and got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch bagel with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cream cheese. Only the top half of my bagel tasted like cinnamon and it wasn't nearly as strong of a flavor as I would have preferred. Both of us thought our cream cheese was lacking too. Been to the store a few times and had a Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich .I was born and raised in NJ.75 years old now and have had a lot of Taylor ham sandwiches from. RT80 to the Delaware line,and have trouble finding the 1/32 thick pieces of Taylor ham in your sandwich . I have very good eyesight but have trouble seeing the meatI didn't know they made a meat cutter that cut that thin.You say your from Jersey ,but anyone from Jersey wouldn't accept a Taylor ham sandwich with less than 2 or 3 1/8 inch slices .You should be ashamed of disgracing the New Jersey Sandwich . Wow I am beyond impressed with the food, service and quality of everything! I was there alone with my toddler and the staff was so attentive and kind! They saw me splitting our food and insisted on bringing me an extra scrambled egg and sausage for my baby. They ran to get the high chair and make sure we had everything we needed. You really need to study the menu and come in with a plan. There was a constant line the entire time we were there. This place was hopping for sure! Woah. This place is legit. The bagel had something like caramelized garlic and the salmon was fresh and yummy. Can't tell you how the bagels are because I never got to eat one. I was sent by our group to get a dozen bagels. After waiting in line for over 25 minutes I was told I could only buy "a couple." Meanwhile the group of 5 was able to buy a couple for each person in their group. So please NOTE: MUST BE PRESENT TO BUY BAGELS! Wish their website had said this or on a sign outside. OMG! Come here. Don't question it, just get in your car, or bike, or scooter and have a bagel sandwich. Their bagels are the kind you dream about...good crust on the outside, but perfectly chewy on the inside. My husband and I came here after seeing a sign on the road that said "bagel" (clearly that's all we needed) and we ended up coming here for breakfast every day on our vacation. The ladies behind the counter were friendly and efficient also! I went with a porkroll egg and cheese (4.99) and an iced coffee (2.45) and didn't stray from it all week. They don't skimp on the meat...I think there were three slices of porkroll on my sandwich. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the cheese was melted to the bagel. The iced coffee was perfectly creamy and just the right amount of sweet from the hazelnut. Our next adventure to the keys will certainly have a stop or 5 to this place again! read more

Came for bagels and breakfast sandwiches but found out they offer a lot more than that. They have a bunch of unique and creative looking sandwiches, wraps a paninis. Edit after response: I wasn't thrown out of this restaurant so not sure what the response is about? But still my opinion stands. Honestly, you couldn't pay me to recommend this place. To put it briefly, The staff is extremely rude, the building is small and not well kept, and the bagels fell far below my expectations. The lady taking orders seemed extremely bothered that I had questions about the menu and kept walking off as I tried to ask things. There are very rude signs regarding tipping around the establishment. Here's a tip: be nice to your paying customers. The lady at the counter also kept screaming at everyone to shut the door, but the line exceeded the restaurant. The people who were there were all crammed inside and forced to crowd the few tables of indoor seating they provided. My other issue with this place is that the wait took FOREVER. I was waiting nearly 30-40 minutes for a bagel. These are the type of waits I expect from a sit down restaurant, not a "quick service" place like this. Not to mention a bagel sandwich shouldn't take that long to make. My real issue wasn't with the wait, it was with the fact that many people who ordered after us were getting their food first. I'm not sure what the hold up on my order was, but if you can't make an item in a timely manor then it shouldn't be on your menu. The food here is also nothing spectacular. I've never been one to turn down a bagel, but the sandwich I received was nearly inedible. Chewiest bagel I've ever had. If you're looking for a tough, flavorless bagel sandwich, this is the place to go. I would love to see the place cleaned up a little as well. What a great breakfast spot! When you're on vacation and you want a quick breakfast, the bagel sandwich is the way to go! Their menu was impressive, the staff was friendly, and it was fairly priced and cooked to order. I had egg and bacon on an everything bagel. First time we came there was a line out the door.. 10/10:30! IMO that's a good sign that it is good and it was! We went today and went 8/8:15 and the line was inside and much better if you're in a rush! To all the negative people on here about customer service being awful.... There is a difference between mean or rude and just being down right busy!!! I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years and it can be a tough one... NO ONE is being mean we are just busy trying to make your order as quick as possible to try and please you the customer be cause that is what your there for.. THE FOOD! Will absolutely be returning.
