The lentil soup wasn't what I had expected. It was a creamy lemon scented delight. My husband's Borscht. was not the usual thin affair but as he put it "very hearty". We opted for the lunch special $15.99. A full bowl of soup/ a very nice plate of Russian salad (not lettuce type) hearty beans & potatoes or the other root veggies along with a small plate of meatballs or chicken or goulash with mashed potatoes or grains and a drink is included (coffee or tea or fruit compote. My husband had the Compote he liked it , too sweet for me. The desserts look really good but I will have to try them another time. I actually took a little food home from the lunch. too full. The server we had "Dill" for short was great at explaining the food and special. They do lattes and all kinds of coffees too. Try them out keep them in the Bay so we can keep going back. It is also very cute with a little outside seating

"Pegasus opened its doors in 1993 at 8610 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY, in Bay Ridge. We wanted a small…read morediner where neighbors could feel at home and take a break from the rush of the city. From the beginning, we focused on simple American breakfast and lunch made with care. Over the years, Pegasus has grown with the community, becoming a steady place for everyday meals and familiar faces." Pegasus is a longstanding landmark in Bay Ridge. I wouldn't call it a diner per se because it is cozy with a few booths and a counter. I would call it a classy coffee shop. The menu has something for everyone: burgers, eggs, pancakes, salads and all the comfort food from home made for you. I had some errands to take care of on 86th street so I decided to stop in; I haven't dined here in a while. Pegasus is not just for Brooklynites, many patrons come from Staten Island and other far away places. As I stood on line I heard " I made a reservation is my table ready?" "45 minutes wait?" and I said "I'll take any seat even the counter" as I was told 30 minutes for a seat. Then, 10 minutes later, three seats opened up at the counter. I found my seat and reviewed the menu; I was in the mood for a turkey burger but they do not offer it anymore. So, I ordered an Impossible Burger deluxe and a cup of coffee. The coffee was served piping hot and it was delicious! Then, my burger came out.TBH I didn't know what to expect. I spread some mayo and ketchup on it and took one bite... delicious! It really tastes like the real thing. The fries were plentiful and also scrumptious. The service was on point: iced water served, coffee cup refilled and love the fact there are extra napkins in the bar to take which I needed. The burger was a little messy but worth it! It is not hard to understand why Pegasus has endured; simple food cooked like a home meal, cozy environment and great service. Pegasus Brooklyn 8610 3rd Avenue 8:15-4:30pm

We were able to fit our strollers inside and they were allowed near our table so long as they weren't in the way. We ordered the banana French toast (spectacular) and I ordered the French onion grilled cheese sour dough which was also amazing. To drink I ordered the lavender foam cold brew (wow!). Usually I'm not a fan of cold brews because I find them quite bitter but the cold foam gave it a great balance. There were other great options on the menu that I have to come back to try!

Our server was not having it that night. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, we felt like he was having a bad day and couldn't have been more annoyed with every single customer's presence. Not a great feel. Needless to say, service left wanting more. Would not return here just so I wouldn't have to interact with that waiter. Ambiance is pleasant. The establishment aims to provide a more upscale vibe, even if customers are dinning super casually on a Thursday night. $28 Mongolian beef appetizer was tasty--a bit too dry--more sweet sauce would've been in order. The portion was big--good to share amongst several people. The fact that an appetizer costs as much as an entree is nuts to me. $54 for 8 oz. Filet Mignon entree was standard steak house price but this establishment is not a steakhouse. Both our fillets were cooked to the temps we ordered. The meat was good quality. However. The entire dish was BLAND. Zero salt or seasoning in anything. What? Did the chef forget to add salt to everything?? The sauce would've been great if it was seasoned and had taste. Same goes for potatoes gratin and mushrooms and meat. This was bizarre. How do you not season food? $15 napoleon was okay. Not the best and not the worst I had. The cream was too heavy on the eggs and more of a custard consistency, not the traditional Russian napoleon kind. Big piece, though, so it's good to share amongst several people after a filling dinner. Would I return? For such prices, bad service, and bland food--no. Spend your money elsewhere.
