Marakand Steakhouse is a beautiful Uzbek restaurant with stunning décor, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu is colorful and easy to navigate, with photos and descriptions of the dishes, which was especially helpful since this was our first time trying Uzbek cuisine.
We ordered family-style and shared several dishes: Achichuk salad (a refreshing mix of cucumber, tomato, and onion), manty (steamed beef and lamb dumplings), chicken lula kebab with home-style fries, samsa (a savory beef and lamb-filled pastry), traditional Uzbek bread, iced tea, and a strawberry mojito mocktail.
Everything tasted fresh and was clearly made with care. The food was delicious, and one thing that stood out was how Uzbek cuisine isn't heavily spiced. Instead, it allows the quality of the meat, vegetables, and other ingredients to shine on their own. The flavors were simple, fresh, wholesome, and satisfying.
The portions were generous, and although we were too full to try dessert, the dessert selection looked incredible. The only small thing we would have liked was butter served with the Uzbek bread, as we've seen mentioned in some other reviews. That said, it was a very minor detail and didn't take away from the overall experience.
One thing to note: an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill, so be sure to check your receipt before adding an additional tip.
We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. If you're looking to try authentic Uzbek cuisine in a beautiful setting with excellent service, Marakand Steakhouse is well worth a visit. read more
