I have been coming to maplewood nails for 3 years now. Tiffany Has always done my nails perfectly! No matter what nail shape or design I choose, she always delivers. Not only am I always overly impressed by my nails, but I always enjoy the company. Tiffany is wonderful and the whole team is so kind and always takes the time to say hi and make my visit wonderful. We love this place!! Been there a few times for pedi's and they are so so kind and make you feel completely comfortable. Plus the atmosphere is also nice and welcoming. Price isn't outrageous and they do a really good job. Lots of services and color options. If it's busy sometimes you have to wait a minute. Our favorite continues to be the massage chairs ! read more

I tried this place for the third time. The last two times I have been cut or burned in multiple areas on my fingernail & toenail cuticles. They also cut the sides of my big toenails causing toe pain from being too aggressive & later became ingrown nails. My fingernails scabbed and remained painful for a few days. I cannot recommend and will not go back. read more

What a terrible experience. Went in for a fill and pedicure and left completely disappointed and embarrassed. The acrylic application was sloppy and thick, with acrylic all over my hands -- I had to scrape some off myself before even taking a photo. My nails are uneven, badly shaped, and look rushed. The nail polish doesn't even match my toes, even though it's from the same bottle -- and no, my toes aren't discolored. The pedicure was worse: my toenails were cut crooked and uneven, and they look so bad I'm too embarrassed to show anyone. I paid $105 for this disaster. Absolutely unacceptable -- never going back. read more

I am posting this because of this past experience.. however there are some nail techs who work here that I do adore. Tiffany, Kim and B are great. I got my nails done yesterday (dip manicure) and one cracked that same day. I went back to get the one nail fixed. The lady immediately started arguing with me and said it wasn't cracked. When I asked her if she could redo the nail, she got mean. I was so uncomfortable. She started raising her voice so that everyone in the store could hear and called her coworkers over to show me "there was no crack" I couldn't believe it. It's one nail and clearly split to the point it would lift off my finger. She shook her head, continued to argue despite the fact that I was not arguing back and she gave nasty looks. All I did was ask if there was anything we could do to fix the split part of my nail. All she did was paint over the crack with gel polish. I simply got up and left. Unprofessional and rude environment. Here's what the nail looks like for reference... read more

Very clean salon with friendly staff. I made an evening appointment a few days in advance for 6 pm and was confirmed immediately. When I got there, they asked me who I made the appointment with but I never received a name when scheduling so just make a note to do that. I was helped by a man named Awesome and he was so friendly and skilled. I got a full set with gel polish and a chrome finish and it was shaped perfectly, you can't even tell it's not my real nail. During my appointment, there were many staff members that took a lot of time to clean each station and sweep. The cleanliness here is kept well. Will definitely be back and recommend Awesome! read more

Lady who did my nails had sores on her hands and razor sharp nails. I was smelling a strong bleach smell as well. My nails were dry, burning, and smelled like bleach afterwards. I was sure to wash my hands good and use lots of hand sanitizer..... won't be back sadly. read more

It was a nightmare I had the worst spa experience here yesterday. In short i experienced dehumanization assault and racism. I would not recommend this place to any black woman. If you are an ally; please don't go here The man who did my nails pulled and yanked my fingers and arms to the point where I not only had to ask him to be gentler several times but I also woke up this morning with bruises around my shoulder and wrist; my boyfriend is a orthopedic resident and he wants to press charges. I asked the nail worker to use a clean nail file while doing my shaping and he screamed at me "do you know how much the nail files cost? $10! Way more than you" I was so shocked by his behavior that I kept looking around for the other customers to step in and maybe advocate for me because I was vocalizing the fact that I was scared; the others seemed to be purposely minding their business. Instead of using clean tools to move my cuticles back he scraped them and pushed them back with his thick sharp fingernails; so unsanitary. NONE OF THE TOOLS WERE CLEANED. He only switched tools because I kept advocating that he wasn't going to use nasty nail files on me & then he started getting physically violent and told me to be quiet while he hurt me. Although I wanted to leave every time I tried to get up he literally yanked my arm. When I tried to go after my acrylic was complete the worker raced outside to smoke; he was making sure to physically guard the door. The service was listed as $25 and he charged me $37; I didn't complain or mention the huge discrepancy and I just paid bc I recognized I was not safe and I'm only 95lbs and didn't want to be caught in anything more physical since it was clear that I was already being treated roughly. I was assaulted and not treated like any other woman there because of my skin color as none of the white women customers where being pulled and yanked or screamed at; they had relaxing experiences while ignoring my cries across the room. I will NEVER EVER go back. EVER! there's no response from the owners that would make me consider even editing this review. Black women need to be treated like every other female; not rag like dolls and punching bags. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I keep having poor experiences here, yet I keep coming back. Probably because it is just so close. I've finally reached the final straw. I've had BAD services, and I mean BAD. And thats coming from someone whos pretty easy to please. What has finally done me in is the misleading pricing and pushy sales. I came in for a last minute pedicure. Wanted regular polish, which I stated a couple of times. When it came tome to polish, she said "gel?" Anout 6 times, interrupting me each time I tried to object. I finally acquiesced because I felt pressured and figured it would only be like a $5 uncharged. What I expected to be a $30 ticket before tip ended up being $48! It was *NEVER* disclosed that I was going to be charged more than 50% extra of my service cost. And 3 days later they were chipping anyway.... Completely done wasting my money here read more

First time stopping in with the Sil to get gel manicures and it was decent but felt like the two that were doing out manicures were in a rush and kept switching off on multiple people. Now I understand they have to finish others as well but I personally think it's rude when they do things like that. Didn't feel like a overall relaxing experience. They could of done more and maybe I would of gave it some thought to come back but I'm not sure atm. Had to ask them to fix up small details which were noticeable thinking they would themselves but I had to tell them.. I liked that it was clean and they also had a huge selection for all types of nail colors! read more

Very unprofessional. You could tell they were talking about you. Language switch up wasn't trying to be hidden. And the person that did my nails "Hanh" made my gel nails too thick and uneven on my hands and my feet. Maybe another worker does better work But I don't plan on coming back. read more

Mary was extremely rude toward the end of the service. I got a classic pedicure no gel, I explained that I had previous experience where the gel would not easily come off and caused pain so regular polish was fine. After that, no conversation was had (which is completely fine with me!) Towards the end of checking out when it asked for the tip before rewards, I got confused because I'm new to the area and nail salons where I'm from have you check in before the process. I asked her "can I type in my number for points" she said, "no. you want a receipt?" and when I said yes, she then ripped the paper off the machine and placed it to the side of me instead of handing it to me. (I can only assume because she thought I was not going to tip her.) I assumed I could tip before or after if I was getting a receipt anyway. I understand the whole tip culture of nail salons but we didn't get that far before her entire mood became rude to which she and the other nail tech laughed and asked me "do you want to wait or leave, you can go but you can't wear your shoes" ...why would I leave the nail salon barefoot and wet.... anyways, My first time, probably my last. read more

I've been to this nail salon 3 times over the last two months. I've been searching for a solid nail tech for awhile and chose this place after not having the best experience at another nail salon. The first time was great! The cuticle cleaning and trimming was a bit painful, but my French pedicure was perfect. She also used a battery powered sander to smooth my heels which I liked. My second experience two weeks later was not so good. It was storming, the lights went out, my French was not even and when she applied the top coat, the wet white paint bled and left streaks because it wasn't dry. I chopped it up to being a bad day. Two weeks later, today, I got my usual French pedicure with the same person. I made an appointment and was 5 minutes late, but she had started someone else and I had to wait about 30 minutes. I also discovered some white spots on my big toe that looked like it could be fungus. I've never experienced that in my life and it had me questioning how they sanitize their utensils. I noticed she used a file on me that looked used already. I asked her what the white spot was and she said she didn't know. The technician next to her said maybe I dropped something on my foot but that's not the case. She also applied the top coat too soon and the white paint bled once again. There's paint on my skin and it just wasn't a good experience. I will not be returning. read more

Maplewood Nails & Spa - Great experience at the salon. Mary did a fabulous job on my nail and eyebrows. - Nail Salons Near Me - St. Louis, Missouri

I started coming here about a year ago. At first, they did a great job for a reasonable price. I only ever get gel nails. A couple of months ago, it started going downhill. One time, I had to change nail techs because my polish kept separating while she was doing my nails. She did them about three times. Overall, I was there for about 2 1/2 hours just for gel. I thought about changing nail places after this but have trouble with change sometimes. I recently took a break from getting my nails done because they were starting to get brittle from doing them so often. I just went back and the experience was less than ideal. The woman got polish all around my nails. She kept using a file to get it off. She was filing my flesh. It didn't hurt but it serrated the skin around my nails. At the end, she put oil (yes, oil) all over my arms (all the way to my shoulder) and tried to rub it in. I ended up wiping it off with a towel. I left with polish under and all around my fingernails. Even the polish on my nails looks wavy. She also added sparkles to one of my fingers without asking me first. The rest are matte. It doesn't make sense. This was the last straw. I won't be back. read more

I came here on my seemingly endless quest to find a nail salon I love in STL, and it was...fine. I got a dip manicure, and there was dip on my fingers, over the sides of my cuticles in some places, and missing on the sides of others. I was worried about it lifting with the uneven application, but it surprisingly lasted until my next nail appointment. I'll continue on my journey and move on from here, but am not too miffed at the experience. read more

Thoroughly enjoy my time spent at MapleWood Nails. I prefer a classic French gel pedicure. It lasts one month. Service is swift and the staff is attentive. Prices are fair. Was able to easily make an appointment and get in very quickly! The shop is beautiful-- very clean, decors was modern, and I was greeted as soon as I arrived. I showed my technician a photo of what I was interested in and she was able to duplicate it! the pedicure was one of the best I have EVER had.. will definitely be back! The only area of improvement would be having some help to pick out the colors.. I was told to look on the wall but had some difficulty deciding and colors needed to be changed (technician picked some out) and some weren't on the wall because they had recently been used by other patrons. Will definitely be back! read more

I had an appointment last Saturday and it was super busy bc they kept starting new clients when they should have been focusing on the ones they already started. Someone would be working on my nails one minute (I just got a dip color on my natural nails nothing else) and then they would get up to do someone else... I had 3 different ppl doing my nails rushing to get them done. 1. They are super bumpy, were definitely not evened out at all and just overall poorly done 2. Not the color I asked for. I've had a good experience with them before when it was less busy but I'm pretty disappointed with my nails this time read more

A new salon just opened up in downtown Maplewood. The owners, An (aka. Awesome) and Tiffany, are the most friendly and kind-hearted business owners I've met. They welcomed me with a friendly smile and offered me a drink once I got seated. The facility is spacious, clean, and bright. It had nice spa vibes. Also the salon chairs were pretty comfortable and felt pretty luxe. MNS did a fantastic job with my gel pedicure. I switched it up from my usual blah beige to an electrifying chartreuse color. MNS have similar offerings you would see at other nail salons in St. Louis with decent prices. I hope that the business continue to thrive in Maplewood because it's so close to my place! read more

This was my go to salon however today they were very sloppy, rushed, seemed as though they just didn't care. Nail shape was not good, I reshaped them myself at home. The nail tech did not even file the acrylics with the filer!! Pedicure was subpar for the cost. When I addressed the concern about the pedicure, I was met with a poor handling as they wanted to involve everyone. Will not return. read more

Not great. Nail tech blamed me for "ruining" my gel polish. Told my I "must have touched the towel" and smudged the gel... I didn't. Not sure if the gel didn't agree with my body chemistry or what. But these turned out terribly and he let me walk out of the salon without making them look good. I didn't have the energy to fight for them to be re-done. read more

I went here randomly because my salon was closed. I thought the salon was clean, the people were friendly, and it was very quick! I was surprisingly shocked. I got a full set and a pedi. They were great. However, it was SO EXPENSIVE. Which is why I was shocked when one of my nails FELL OFF in 6 days. One of the nails I had glued on fell off! This is so disappointing and I can't imagine I'll be back there. Not the best experience when something you pay $40 doesn't last more than a week. read more

I came to this place when I first moved here about a year ago and haven't been back since so decided to stop in to get a mani/pedi. Pedi was fine for the most part, she cut my big toe but was very apologetic. The manicure was when it all went down hill. The bowl to soak was my hands was scalding and after telling her how it was, she said she was trying to "cook" me and laughed. 6/10 of my cuticles were cut and bleeding. The polish and shaping were fine but my cuticles are not. I won't be back here again. read more

First time coming here. They have a huge selection of colors to choose from. The salon "looks" clean, looks more modern. I asked for a square shape, I did have to ask her to file more. However, I got gel polish and the lady who was doing my nails kept paying attention to everyone else's nails but mine! She wasn't looking at what she was doing to my nails. She missed the whole side of my thumb nail so I have a strip without any gel you can definitely tell! My sis got 3 layers of gel what they should do, I got 2 layers of gel. I had to ask for another layer. We also had to ask for her to put cuticle oil on our nails well she dripped it all over our nail beds and hands. She seemed to be more interested in what everyone else was doing. I didn't get a pedi but I noticed they didn't sterilize any tools between those customers. Also she didn't get a new nail file between my sis & I. As far as sterilization and cleanliness for the customers this salon doesn't do it, like most salons don't. I do love the color of the nails and they do look good minus the part of my nail missing gel completely. Edit - barely a week later many nails have chipped and cracked. Gel came off most nails not even in 2 weeks. Very ridiculous! read more

Tiffany did my pedicure. Very friendly, clean, and did a great job on my toes. Leg massage was the best part.

I probably wouldn't recommend this place. It's overpriced for the actual services. The people are super nice but it was a rush job. The person doing my pedicure talked me into the next level up, which was more expensive of course, and there was no benefit to that. I received a 30-second foot massage. My nails look terrible - again, the technician totally rushed me through. read more
