I happened upon this nail salon by a recommendation from a dear friend. The reception is a dear and I asked her to recommend a tech. I've gone back several times since my first visit to the same tech and I'm pleased every time. The vibe is very chill and the tech and I are cordial to one another the way I like it because I really don't need a lot of chitter chatter. There's plenty of parking and the salon is easy to locate. It is now my go to salon for nails as the tech can always accommodate my schedule. I highly recommend this salon. read more

Every time I come to Beautiful Nails the entire staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Eric for any acrylic service- he is very efficient and I'm always so happy with how my nails turn out. I have always been seated immediately and they are incredibly accommodating for my busy schedule and always fit me in with last minute appointments! The receptionist is one of the kindest people I've ever met and is always friendly on the phone and in person. I love the large space they have and even when they are busy I never feel crowded! My pedicure was awful. Polish all over my skin and somehow not covering the whole of my nails? Very sloppy. My gel manicure had a hair in one of the nails that the tech pretended she couldn't see and then it chipped on 3 nails the next day. Management was kind and had another nail technician fix my pedicure, but the experience overall just wasn't good and took 2 hours for nail painting only. No massages and minimal cuticle work. WORST PEDICURE EVER. I went to this nail salon on a Saturday with 5 other ladies to get pedicures for a birthday celebration. I am from KC, so we just went with a salon in the area that we were staying. 1. The deluxe pedicure only lasted 25 mins for $37. They rushed all of our pedicures in order to get to other customers 2. The nail polish lasted 2 days with normal wear (no swimming, no special situations) 3. One week later 4 toes polish is chipped and 1 doesn't have polish AT ALL. My pedicures last over 3 weeks at all other salons I have tried in KC and other areas. If you want your money's worth do not go here. read more

I'm never coming back again. This place has gone down hill. Does not soak your nails or do any cuticle cleaning and trimming now. The tech only used the grinder tool. No hand washing, no hand lotion massage, no hot towel. Not a good experience at all. Just trying to get customers in and out as fast as possible with no service. I'm afraid what my nails look like after the polish is removed. The place also looked unsanitary as the stations are uncleaned and the tools not sanitized. I'm praying I don't get any infections. read more

Update: myself and companion both got infections. Companion has been on heavy antibiotics for almost a year. Tools came out of a "sealed" plastic package. Clearly there are some severe sanitary issues and poor practices. read more

Overall they did okay. I got a dip manicure and my nails are not even but it's not super noticeable. The woman that did my nails did not apply the dip well, I've never had someone drag my finger through the powder like she did. I also got a pedicure and my heels are still rough, I had to ask the lady to scrub my heels a little longer bc she did it for maybe 15 seconds. Again, okay service, nice staff. read more

It was my first time coming to this salon today and I have to say, the service was fairly impressive and the place was clean and well-kept. I am one of those people who is afraid of change so when I came here, I was really nervous and I was skeptical that I would actually like how they do my nails but when it was all over with, they turned out beautifully done and I am happy with them. I ended up getting a much needed pedicure and a gel/shellac manicure with 2 colors (pink french and an overlay of pinkish sparkles). Like one of the comments on here, it felt a little bit awkward when I first stepped into the place because it wasn't really friendly and inviting when I came in. However, they seated me without a wait and started on my pedicure right away. The lady who worked on them was pleasant enough and she made small talks. I also liked how she started on my nails (soaking them in acetone) right before she worked on my pedicure. If you have ever had gel/shellac before, you know what I am talking about. Anyway, the pedicure was nice and relaxing! The manicure was also pleasant. I had another tech work on them since the one giving me the pedicure had an appointment after finishing my pedi and that was fine. The manicure tech was more talkative and friendly but still did an awesome job! Overall, I love the end-results and will definitely be back! read more

I found this salon by chance a few months ago and it's become my new go-to. It's large with lots of techs, and they can usually accommodate me as a walk-in. The pedicures are meticulous--they get every bit of cuticle etc. And my dip nails are thin (not clunky) and gorgeous every time. As an aside, I read so many reviews that said "I've been coming here for years and had this one bad experience," then leave a poor review. I normally have a really good experience here but today was different. My 30th birthday party is this weekend so I wanted to get my nails done. The lady who did my fingernails rushed and skipped many steps and then when I mentioned it she just made up an excuse that she was going to do it after... which no one has done after they painted my nails even while waiting for the gel to come off my toenails. She skipped the oil, hand washing, lotion, and hot towel and my hands looked like they had just been sanded with sloppy polish. She clearly was just ready to leave adding up her tips and pushing me to a new girl for my pedicure. I watched a lady beside me get the full treatment while I was rushed not awesome since I've been coming once a month and haven't had this service before. We were very happy with the service and tipped well then one day we went in and they decided they don't "work with old people" and told my father after I paid for a Manny Petty for him and myself that he is too old and he is not welcome here anymore. I got my nails done here as part of a bridal party, so it's not where I normally go. I had my nails filled 1.5 weeks before this. The tech here pulled off pieces of my fill and you can see lines and cracks in the nails! One is popping off 2 days later. You can see cracks in them and they look HORRIBLE. I usually go to the other Beautiful Nails location on Big Bend, but yesterday when I really needed a fill, they were closed because of new carpet installation. A very friendly employee told me to try the other location, so that was the best option! Up Manchester I went. First thoughts? Yeeeeaaah, these people aren't near as friendly as the other location. I know it's just nails and friendly employees don't result in a better manicure, but I really place a lot of value on the environment of places. I walked in and everyone just kind of stared at me... I felt like I should start doing circus tricks or something. The woman that did my nails only spoke to me when she needed to tell me how much I owed, and it just was not a comfortable atmosphere. She was also pretty rough on my nails (note to nail technician: that drill you use has a rough end to it and probably shouldn't go on skin! Keep in on the nails, please. Ouch.) Three stars because regardless of the unpleasant experience, my nails look damn good. I would consider stopping in again if I'm in a bind and I had no other option nearby. But you could at least say hello when I walk in the door! Spend an extra ten minutes driving and go to the Big Bend location if you can. read more

I've been going here for over a decade, but I won't be in again. I have thick healthy fingernails and get gel polish. They used to let you sit and soak off your old polish and it's took as long as it took. The last few times they used an electric grinder to grind off the polish after about a minute of soaking. The last time 2 weeks ago the technician ground my natural nails tissue paper thin. With 4 coats of get they are bendable. My nail beds ache. I soaked off my polish at home (for the appropriate 20 minutes) to see how bad it is and it's bad. It will be months of growing out and hopefully I'll get my real nails back. It's gone from a relaxing experience to a wham bam. I got a toenail fungus there a few years ago that I'm still struggling to get rid of, but that can happen anywhere. I stopped getting pedicures after that, but still went there for nails because using uv light cuts the risk. This nail grinding has sent it over the edge to become a place I won't go again. I used to be so excited for nail day. I'm adding pics of what was under the gel I just took off. The pink areas are where my nails hurt because there is hardly any nail left over the bed. read more

I have been to this place 3 times, once for a nail polish change, and twice for nails. I normally get a full set with gel polish. Common theme is that other than the front desk lady, not real friendly. More importantly my nails. the toe nail polish change was solid and she even shaped them and did a mini massage for free. The full set i got was fine, but the lady doing my nails NEVER spoke, was so busy watching over the front desk lady (San i believe, owner) and trying to cater to every other customer she could barely do my nails. She used a white nail to do my french manicure. The 2nd time i went for a fill-in, the lady painted over the white tip, and the job was actually worse, they all chipped pretty bad and had a big lift. I love how big the space is so there is never much of a wait. They also offer beverages if there's a wait. The space is very open and clean. However, I had a few complaints. I went in there for a gel polish change and was charged $25! Incredibly overpriced for not even trimming my cuticles or anything. For an inexpensive nail salon, you really can't do better. than Beautiful Nails. I've been going to this salon for years and have followed them through 2 moves. They started on Brentwood in a strip mall that was torn down when the Villas of Brentwood were build. Then they moved to another strip mall, farther south on Brentwood, where Radio Shack is located (across from Face & Body). Last year they built their own building on Manchester near Brentwood, and the new place is definitely work being 5 minutes farther from my house. It is clean and spacious with plenty of waiting area seating, pedicure chairs and work stations that don't have you crammed in together. Everyone is friendly, and rarely do walk-in visitors have to wait long. I've been having Anne do my nails for years, and she gets booked up so I make appointments for all of my visits...but she can usually get me in within a couple of days. If you make appointments for one of the more popular technicians, Jill (the receptionist) and San (the owner) will get to know your name and say hello every time you arrive. It's also cheap. I get my fills done for $22 including tip. TIP: they can't add a tip to your credit card after they run it, so ask how much it is and tell them to include the tip in the total, or plan on bringing cash for the tip. read more

I got a dip manicure and it was good. They were efficient and cleaned up my nails well. A few complaints.... They soaked off my precious dip for the entire duration of my pedicure (about an hour), my hands were burning and I asked them to take it off and they told me they needed to sit longer. At other salons it has taken 10 mins to soak off. Secondly, the applied a shellac top coat which peeled off the NEXT DAY, which is very frustrating. Finally, they are rough on the cuticles and cut my cuticles 3 times and made all the others raw. I wish it was a better experience because when I left the salon my nails looked good!! read more

My pedicure was so relaxing and my nails looked fabulous -- extra shout out to nail tech Jessica who was so sweet and really put in extra effort to make sure my nails looked great. I usually love going here but my experience today left me disappointed. I had a lady who's desk/station was in the back row, on the end, on the right side. I asked for dip nail which I get every time and this nail tech did it differently than any other time I've gotten them. She was extremely rough with my natural nails and did not take care of my cuticles. I am upset with the amount of aggression and forced she used while holding each finger. She was holding my fingers so tight they were turning white. I couldn't wait for her to let go and move on to a new finger so that one could regain circulation. I usually love this salon, but maybe I should consider finding a new place or just make sure I don't get that specific nail tech again. read more

I visited for the first time with a friend who is a regular because I was looking for a new nail person and was hoping to find a location that would accommodate me on Sundays. I was pleasantly surprised! Beautiful Nails large, modern, clean, friendly and super busy! Reservations recommended!! I was very happy with the neat and gentle pedicure I received and the pink & white acrylics. They were polite, professional and they did a great job! My only complaints would be that they are busy so a reservation is necessary and their fills and pedicures average $6-$7 higher than the norm in the St. Louis region. Otherwise, I'm sold! read more

A popular stop on a Saturday for St. Louis women, men and teenagers of all walks of life ... because they don't know how the employees are treated. Said employees have to pay just to have YOU sit in their chair (around $3), then they have to give 60% of the cost of services and tips to management. Management says it's to pay for their Visas. Employees aren't trained consistently, but it's hard not to feel sorry for them when they are treated so poorly. Today. I paid for a manicure that I didn't get because it wasn't worth the fight. I have been a customer for about 10 years coming with my Mom and Aunt -- every 1 - 2 weeks we got the same service, gel manicures/pedicures. My last service was on Friday but by Tuesday several nails started to peel. I came in today to ask for those nails to be fixed - the receptionist was dismissive which set the tone for the nail tech to be rude and condescending as if I wanted to come back 6 days later after spending $100 on a service that should last at least 2 weeks. Normally, when I've gotten a touch up, I tip the technician but this tech was so rude, I left and decided to write this review. If I could give beautiful nails a -5 star review I would do it in a heart beat. I came in for a Gel fill in and the job was done horribly. It was honestly a half job. Besides the nail tech Lynn using a dull filer on my nails to attempt to shape them, she was rushing which left my nails bubbly. On top of that because she partially gave up while filing some of the nails were crooked. The paint job was horrible, why do I have paint on my cuticles like a 5 year old painted them? She didn't apply the diamond correctly so it fell off the next day. This place is all about quantity, getting people in and out just so they can have a large amount of costumers. This leads to them not putting quality behind their work and sending people away with a nail job that my 9 year old nephew could've done. They need to reconsider changing their name to Hideous Nails. read more
