Made a visit to this establishment on Ladue Rd on 11/11. Called to check for wait times and if available for a walk-in. Came in about an hour later. The owner greeted me, and asked if I just called and got me seated quickly for my deluxe pedicure ($40). It was clean, and the tools used were sanitized and the single-use items were new. As I sat down, I already had gel that needed to be removed. The removal of gel polish ($5) was performed to keep my toenails in great health by drilling the top coat off and using acetone to soak off the rest with a file used to scrap off. The massage was done with a mud mask, then scrub, then lotion, finished with a hot towel to remove. The excess cuticle was removed and I used regular nail polish. Gel is $20 extra. My service was $45 total. I felt the service was done with care and there is street parking on the side of the building. read more

Called in to see if they had availability they took me right in m, sat down and the guy started doing my nails real fast also no communication the whole time just kept asking if it was ok. I noticed he didn't thin out the acrylic a bit because I don't like it to look too thick. Once he finished he pretty much rushed me out of there and once I got to take a good look at them after wards it was horrible. Before my technician started applying a base layer for my manicure, I wanted to clarify that I wanted to get a gel manicure and not dip. This was because the bottle had DND on it, but I was afraid it stood for something dip related (I get manicures very rarely so am not 100% familiar with all the naming). So I said "just to confirm, I'd like to get a gel manicure today, not dip/sns." She replied with "honey, this is gel. This is gel and not dip." And then looked at me like I was in the wrong for even bringing it up. The "honey" was said in a condescending tone and made me feel like I was a little kid being scolded. Then after pausing to stare at me like she couldn't believe I'd just said something, she repeated "honey, this is just a gel base, no dip." And shook her head disbelievingly. Between her responses and looking at me like I was crazy, I kept saying back, "okay great. I just wanted to clarify." I wasn't going to apologize for making sure the service was correct before we got too deep into the process. Even the technician adjacent to us chimed and told me it was helpful for customers to clarify, as if she was acknowledging that the way my tech was speaking to me was inappropriate. And at the end of the manicure, after she'd put on a layer of top coat, I gave my nails a final look to make sure the job was done well. Where she'd filed my index nail after painting it, the tip ooked like it had some patchy painting. So I mentioned this and she stone stared back at me without looking and said "what? You don't like it?" I tried to show her again and she just looked at me like there was literally nothing there. I took my hand out of the bright light to show her one more time and she said "oh." And then fixed it. All in all, the experience was uncomfortable, and I will never allow that technician to work on my nails again. I would be hard pressed to go here again when there are plenty of other good nail salons in the area. After I felt safe being out in Covid-era life, I did some research and came across Clayton Nail Spa. I was randomly assigned Remy for dip nails and have requested her each time I have gone back. Today, she HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK! (Pun intended). I took some photos of nails celebrating Cardinal baseball and she did such an amazing job. My friends and family are in awe and I am giddy looking at the design! Can't wait to show them off at two more in-person games on my calendar and then hopefully into the post-season. Kinda of a crapshoot of what you'll get every time you go. I've had great techs who have done dip that lasts 30+ days. I have also had techs that have cut almost every finger with the electric file and have the dip chip in less than 48 hours, or just make it too thick. The first time I went in this place, I was very nervous. It seemed chaotic, and there were so many people. I was uncomfortable with my technician from the start and REQUESTED someone else . I was told everyone was working on clients already. Maybe 5 mins later I noticed several technicians were unoccupied however no one asked me if I wanted someone else. This salon has technicians who pick and chose who they give good service to and if they want to b disliked by you YOU WILL KNOW IT! Id picked a different technician the THIRD time her name was Christine and she was the absolute worst. She said that she didn't know how I got her name as if she was unhappy to service me, Christine slams items down as she prepares to do my nails, I noticed my nails were uneven lengths, I Brit this to her attention, she tell me if she cuts the nail it won't match the other hand, she asks if I still want her to cut it, I looked her in her eyes in disbelief and said "I would like all of my nails to be the same length" she rolls her eyes at me and tell me "maybe I'm not as good as u thought, you should pick someone else next time" several technicians are coming over to her throughout my service and she obviously complaining about me. I called around 3:30 pm on a Monday afternoon to check if they were busy. The person on the phone said they were and suggested an appointment for 5:15/5:30pm. I've been going to this nail salon for 3 years, and each time I went I had good service and loved my toes. I went to the salon during my lunch break on 12/5/23 to get a gel pedicure on my toes. This was probably the worst experience I've had. I repeatedly had to tell my nail tech to fix my toes because she did not paint my full nails and I still saw spots that weren't painted on my toes. Once I got home I seen that there was several of my toes that weren't painted correctly. I told her to specifically file down my nails and she ended up cutting me and not even properly doing maintenance for the service I paid for. I left very disappointed and I'm probably not going back anytime soon especially for $60 on a gel set. read more

It is a very busy place but I never have the impression that anyone is suffering from the amount-of customers coming is for services. You always have 100% of your Technician's attention. They are not chatting among themselves and ignoring you or the service they are providing for you. My only observation today was that is a little negative is that it felt a bit disorganized because the young woman checking clients in was also doing manicures . Came in to get a matching pedi and dip manicure. What I thought was a simple job became complicated after the tech began dipping my nails and the colors clearly didn't match. The tech painted several coats of gel over my already dipped nails which resulted in a bubbled sloppy mess. Looks like I won the competition for most nail polish coats. Instead of offering me a new dip set with a color that matches the managers resolution was to remove the dip and offer a refund or a discount on my next set.
