Made a visit to this establishment on Ladue Rd on 11/11. Called to check for wait times and if available for a walk-in. Came in about an hour later. The owner greeted me, and asked if I just called and got me seated quickly for my deluxe pedicure ($40). It was clean, and the tools used were sanitized and the single-use items were new. As I sat down, I already had gel that needed to be removed. The removal of gel polish ($5) was performed to keep my toenails in great health by drilling the top coat off and using acetone to soak off the rest with a file used to scrap off. The massage was done with a mud mask, then scrub, then lotion, finished with a hot towel to remove. The excess cuticle was removed and I used regular nail polish. Gel is $20 extra. My service was $45 total. I felt the service was done with care and there is street parking on the side of the building. read more

Called in to see if they had availability they took me right in m, sat down and the guy started doing my nails real fast also no communication the whole time just kept asking if it was ok. I noticed he didn't thin out the acrylic a bit because I don't like it to look too thick. Once he finished he pretty much rushed me out of there and once I got to take a good look at them after wards it was horrible. Before my technician started applying a base layer for my manicure, I wanted to clarify that I wanted to get a gel manicure and not dip. This was because the bottle had DND on it, but I was afraid it stood for something dip related (I get manicures very rarely so am not 100% familiar with all the naming). So I said "just to confirm, I'd like to get a gel manicure today, not dip/sns." She replied with "honey, this is gel. This is gel and not dip." And then looked at me like I was in the wrong for even bringing it up. The "honey" was said in a condescending tone and made me feel like I was a little kid being scolded. Then after pausing to stare at me like she couldn't believe I'd just said something, she repeated "honey, this is just a gel base, no dip." And shook her head disbelievingly. Between her responses and looking at me like I was crazy, I kept saying back, "okay great. I just wanted to clarify." I wasn't going to apologize for making sure the service was correct before we got too deep into the process. Even the technician adjacent to us chimed and told me it was helpful for customers to clarify, as if she was acknowledging that the way my tech was speaking to me was inappropriate. And at the end of the manicure, after she'd put on a layer of top coat, I gave my nails a final look to make sure the job was done well. Where she'd filed my index nail after painting it, the tip ooked like it had some patchy painting. So I mentioned this and she stone stared back at me without looking and said "what? You don't like it?" I tried to show her again and she just looked at me like there was literally nothing there. I took my hand out of the bright light to show her one more time and she said "oh." And then fixed it. All in all, the experience was uncomfortable, and I will never allow that technician to work on my nails again. I would be hard pressed to go here again when there are plenty of other good nail salons in the area. First visit and called to set an appointment, 2 days before NYE, they were able to accommodate. Appt for 5:30p, arrived at 5p and they had me settled in the pedi chair in 15 min. My assigned technician was Connie, who was very friendly. She completed my Basic Mani and Basic Pedi right from the Pedi station, which personally, I was just fine not moving. After I felt safe being out in Covid-era life, I did some research and came across Clayton Nail Spa. I was randomly assigned Remy for dip nails and have requested her each time I have gone back. Today, she HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK! (Pun intended). I took some photos of nails celebrating Cardinal baseball and she did such an amazing job. My friends and family are in awe and I am giddy looking at the design! Can't wait to show them off at two more in-person games on my calendar and then hopefully into the post-season. Kinda of a crapshoot of what you'll get every time you go. I've had great techs who have done dip that lasts 30+ days. I have also had techs that have cut almost every finger with the electric file and have the dip chip in less than 48 hours, or just make it too thick. I get a dip manicure each time which for the price they do an amazing job. They make sure each nail is smooth and no lumps. I never feel rushed. On top of that my nails last a long time! I saw Tammy as a walk-in at noon today. She was friendly, gentle, and didn't mind when I changed my mind about my nails last minute. My nails were especially atrocious after camping this prior weekend, but Tammy let me know it was okay and made me feel pretty again. The facility was clean and the chairs gave a mean massage. I have big trust issues with nail salons and getting my nails done. I found this place based on other yelp reviews, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. I called around 3:30 pm on a Monday afternoon to check if they were busy. The person on the phone said they were and suggested an appointment for 5:15/5:30pm. Throughout the time I was there, it seemed pretty slow. For future visits, that might be a good time to go. As soon as I arrived I was kindly greeted. Very great and peaceful atmosphere. The space was wide-open and overall very clean. I came in for a regular pedicure and a gel full set. The woman who did my nails was very nice! The first time I went in this place, I was very nervous. It seemed chaotic, and there were so many people. The girl kept asking me if she was hurting me, but I was more nervous than anything because things were so chaotic. It was hard to relax they did do a great job though so I decided to try it again. He seem to have a good handle on what was going on and directed everybody accordingly, the girl that did my feet did an amazing job. This time a man did my manicure and he did a great job as well. I was uncomfortable with my technician from the start and REQUESTED someone else . I was told everyone was working on clients already. Maybe 5 mins later I noticed several technicians were unoccupied however no one asked me if I wanted someone else. Id picked a different technician the THIRD time her name was Christine and she was the absolute worst. I've been going to this nail salon for 3 years, and each time I went I had good service and loved my toes. I went to the salon during my lunch break on 12/5/23 to get a gel pedicure on my toes. This was probably the worst experience I've had. I repeatedly had to tell my nail tech to fix my toes because she did not paint my full nails and I still saw spots that weren't painted on my toes. Once I got home I seen that there was several of my toes that weren't painted correctly. I told her to specifically file down my nails and she ended up cutting me and not even properly doing maintenance for the service I paid for.
