I've been coming to this spa for a while and always trusted the quality because of Janet's professionalism. That's why I booked a Brazilian with Piper, who had the most reviews and came highly recommended. When I arrived, however, I was switched to a different technician without being told in advance. Unfortunately, the service was not done properly. Multiple areas were missed, the technique was rough (including re-waxing the same sensitive area), and I left with significant irritation and bumps. I'm 15 weeks pregnant, and I had chosen this spa specifically because I wanted to feel safe and confident in the provider's experience. I reached out afterward and was offered a "touch-up," but with the irritation I experienced, it didn't feel safe to continue. I usually come here as a back up spot when my original spot is booked up. I came today expecting to get a Brazilian and my under arm waxed. She told me that my hair was too long for my Brazilian!!! I have been getting Brazilians for years, and I have NEVER, EVER heard that. I drove 25 minutes across town only for her to tell me that. The time before that, the waxer had a bad experience w her client before me, and I think it carried over into my session. I was supposed to get a Brazilian, but told her I will wait because I was on my cycle plus, I'd save a little money. But She didn't tell me that I would only be saving THREE dollars if I just went ahead and got a full Brazilian. Booked online which was an extremely easy process with all services explained and priced. Even had no issues moving my appointment in the system myself when I realized I had a schedule conflict. Zoey was my esthetician and was able to quickly put my anxiety in its place with her genuine friendliness and detailed explanations of what to expect throughout the process. Very different than what I'm used to. It's in a house that is made into a wax business. It wasn't the cleanest environment and made me want to run but I REALLY needed a wax. My tech was very sweet and I tipped her handsomely but that's what I typically do rather service is good or not. *I have great things to say about the wax itself, but iffy things to say about booking. The wax: This was my first ever, and Sarah Beth was professional, very friendly and skilled at what she did. She was great about making me feel comfortable and talking me through the whole process, even giving me some stress balls to hold while she did her thing. I will definitely book with her again. The booking: Apparently they only book via text or online? They told me they don't book over the phone, so there was some confusion when I called and booked an appointment with one woman who took my credit card info, and later We Wax That told me they'd never booked me and they didn't need credit card info to book. They said that might have happened because they used to have a call service to answer the phones, but the call center is not supposed to be taking their customer calls anymore. So obviously I was super weirded out and canceled my credit card since some random lady took it for no reason. I left after she told me "I got everything, I promise" because I understood she was done with me, but I still will need to do my own waxing and tweezing. I hate to be the first to give Janet a bad review, but my experience was definitely not five star. I had immediate reservations when she began by "cleansing" my skin with rubbing alcohol. I certainly understand the need to clean the brow area prior to waxing, but I would think such a harsh "cleanser" shouldn't be used on the delicate eye area. She then proceeded to apply wax without asking me anything about my skin type or how I like my brows to be shaped. Luckily I was able to tell her not to wax my upper brow before she applied wax. The worst is that I am in pain. In over 10 years of getting my brows waxed I have never had red patches, which is what I woke up to the day after. First time going here was yesterday. Before booking the appointment I did let them know I had previously been sugaring and that I had sensitive skin. Upon arrival, my esthetician was friendly and quick to get me in. She answered my questions and got right to it. The wax was fairly painful but I have had Brazilian waxes done before but this felt a little different. I was fairly red and swollen afterwards, that night (7-8 hours later) I had trouble sleeping and had to prop my legs up with a pillow and sleep in butterfly to easy the discomfort. Woke up this morning to bruising and red bumps, plus I noticed lots of hairs missed. It's a shame because everyone was friendly, service was quick and prices are great! They were very nice, but I was not happy with the bikini wax. I have only had one other bikini wax, and that place removed every hair and left a smooth bikini line. For the wax here, they were very quick and did not go back for missed hairs. So I have a bunch of hairs leftover on my bikini line. Also, I know it is normal for there to be some irritation immediately after, but my bikini line is still bumpy and red days after. Maybe that's not their fault. But my main reason for getting waxed was to avoid little bumps/redness and did not have this problem at all with the previous place. read more

I was super nervous to get my first brazilian; both because of the pain, and having someone all up in my lady bits. But the experience was a lot less scary than anticipated, and I credit that to Sarah's welcoming demeanor and magic hands. Sarah has a way of putting you at ease. Somehow she made it not at all awkward. She works efficiently to minimize the pain. I think waxing hurts much less with a skilled technician. Along with my brazilian, I chose the full leg wax. Because my hair growth is sparse on my legs, Sarah insisted on only charging me for a half leg wax. I can't tell you how refreshing that kind of customer service is. If you live in St. Louis and you need a wax, there is no reason to go to anyone other than Janet. I had never had anything waxed before so I spent a lot of time trying to find someone who is reasonably priced and knows what they are doing. Janet is so that person. I found out during my appointment that she has spent a long time perfecting her craft and prides herself in being one of the best waxers out there. I arrived early to my appointment and she was able to fit me in immediately, which was extremely impressive. My skin is rather sensitive and I was very nervous for my appointment. I was very impressed with how extremely patient and soothing she was during my appointment. Yes, waxing is not a great time, but it does get better the more you do it and Janet makes it as painless as possible. I appreciated that she engaged me in conversation throughout the whole appointment so that I could be distracted. Some helpful hints: 1. She is located right off of Big Bend (and was easy to find with a GPS). 2. Her online booking system is super easy through her website. 3. She books up FAST. When I looked in May, she was completely booked up for all of June. Luckily, you can check back on a regular basis to see if anyone cancels (luckily for me, someone did). 4. You need to be on time. If you show up 10 minutes late, she won't be able to wax you (which I think is completely understandable). In sum, no matter what you want waxed (eyebrows, face, feet, arms, legs, back, bikini line, etc.), she is the person to go to. Now for the eyebrow design....let me say I am not a hairy person and have never really had shape to my eyebrows and have been told I probably will never be able to have shape with out filling them in and drawing them on.
