I went to Bahama Nails for my gel manicures and pedicures a couple years ago and I was always pleased with their services. I moved out of state then returned to STL. I went back to Bahama Nails and my gel manicure felt rushed (and I had an appointment). I had a broken nail and I asked if they could repair it and she said "it will grow back". My gel polish started chipping and peeling after 10 days. Too many other reputable nail salons in my area so won't be going back. read more

Horrible unsanitary service. Not only was I cut several times, the tech attempted to use dirty /used disposable toe separators and spa shoes. My tech knew that my service looked horrible and in the middle of service stated "tomorrow or later in the month someone better would be there". Unfortunately, I have a wedding to attend on a limited schedule. The polish looks like slop and the paint was mostly dried in the bottle so caused streaks. read more

Been there many times before for a quick pedi, no complaints. A friend and I decided to treat ourselves, for the holidays, "mom's time" if you will... and scheduled appointments together. They were on time and that was awesome considering it was the Tuesday before Christmas. I showed a pic of what I like and am looking to achieve. She gives an example on the tip of my nail, which seems to look similar to my example. There it begins... extremely sloppy. She keeps pouring monomer over and over. It all pours into my nail beds. I thought it would be cleaned up, but it wasn't. She starts polishing, and then "forgot the whole assignment"...? I dunno!! Over all sloppy, then charged me $20 for nail art, but there is no art. She put a glitter coat over nude polish and waved a wand. And said "poof' you owe me $65". read more

I was surprised to find this nail salon! It's basically on the same lot as the Maplewood Walmart. It's truly a GEM! It was a spur of the moment type of day and we did not have appointments but they were very accommodating and we were in a chair without a long wait. PLUS We had just the basics...mani/pedi and a mani/toe polish change. Very nice service and Technicians. It's decorated like you are sitting beachside waiting for the catch of the day to come got off the grille! Hahaha I will be back. read more

In town visiting but wish I would've skipped this salon on my trip. The service was ok for the most part but the outcome was awful. I came in for a pedicure and full set with dipped powder. The pedicure was ok! Nothing special for $28 but it got the job done. May was my nail tech for both. My full set on the other had...NO. The shape is horrible. I asked for ballerina but received a mix of lipstick, coffin and slight ballerina on various nails. Outside of the terrible shape and sloppy color, she filed my skin until she cut me. I told her it was bleeding and burning, her response, "just wait". Like ma'am, wait for what?! It to bleed even more?! She continued with the service even after I asked her to please clean the cut. Very concerning because the powder seemed like it was getting in the cut and the cut is still very painful even today, the next day. I would say I caught them on an off day but based on the other review images, looks like this just isn't the best option in the area. read more

Worst nail experience ever! If you have a business based on customer service and you yell at your customer for simply asking a question you shouldn't even be in business. Not only did i get yelled at, the nails turned out terrible. The tech didn't know how to do a simple nail polish application and got nail polish all over my hands and fingers. I had a good experience here! This place feels and looks nicer than your average salon. There's a nice water feature separating areas and little grass canopies that make it look like you're at the beach! They were able to fit three of us in without much notice at all, and the workers were very friendly. This place is really nice. I followed my nail tech/manicurist Tina from her previous shop because she does a great job and is thorough. The salon is very large and has plenty of space. They used to always be packed before Covid, but now are appointment only as far as I know. They have a nail bar as well as tables to do nails. They are very clean here and I have no concerns about hygiene. Ask for Tina if you come, she's great! read more

Before I went there, I was calling around to places to find somewhere to get my nails done, I found them, called, and they booked me right then and there, and sat me down as soon as I walked through the door. My first time here and I LOVE my nails! A couple things: -Very professional: This for me is key! From booking my appointment to when I arrived to my services and finally, paying. Everyone was very nice and professional. -Decor: Just like other reviews say, the salon is decorated very nicely, and it's clean. -My nail tech: I had Kevin, who did both my pedicure and dip color. I'm not a stickler for the same person doing both my services, but this just happened to work out. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because he filed my pinky finger so much that the skin started to hurt. Which he acknowledged and worked to not put as much pressure on that nail. Don't get me wrong, he did an awesome job, so much that other techs were loving the quality of work on my nails! He made sure they were perfect and that I liked my nails before I left. Ok so after a couple times of going here things declined FAST. They always have extremely long wait times so make sure you make an appt. More than a couple occasions I had two different techs, I would prefer the same one throughout my appointment. Also, every single time I got my nails done here, portions of the acrylic chipped off in chunks. Sometimes within a few days, sometimes a week or so later. I even had more than one nail chip. They fix it for free, but it's pretty inconvenient when you work and they are always busy. This has only happened to me with this nail salon. EDIT; I don't know if it's true or not, but when I started going to another salon, they told me the chipping could be because this place was not taking care of the "lipping". She explained this is when dirt and moisture get under the corners of the acrylic causing them to chip off, she said every time you get a fill they should clean and seal that and that they likely weren't doing that. EDIT 5/24; I moved and decided to give this salon another try since it's close and I now have gel nails. My eyebrow wax was done beautifully. The pedicure was great, a little too fast tho. But ONCE AGAIN my nails started chipping within days. I also think the price to do a fill is on the high end. It sucks because it is such a beautiful, clean salon. But it's a huge inconvenience to have to go back for repairs so I don't think I'll be back again. EDIT 1/2019; I have since removed my acrylic nails so this update is based purely on pedicures & eyebrow waxing. This is now my GO TO place for both of those services. Mary is who I request as she is very detail oriented and really patient/takes her time. I never feel like she is rushing and she does such a great job. She's also very gentle. read more

Great service and clean! I got a deluxe pedicure and a gel manicure. Both were very relaxing and I am very please with the results.

I was really hoping to love this place because it's so close to my house but unfortunately I won't be back. I tried this place out and originally came in for a gel manicure during my manicure the lady told me I should do dip because my nails would last longer and they wouldn't break. I agreed to do the dip instead hoping my nails would last longer. A few days later one of my nails snapped clean in half and I didn't even notice it at first so it didn't take much for the nail to break off like that. The lady also put wayyyy to much polish on my nails and they looked oddly shaped and bubbly (picture included was about two weeks after I got them done). When I went in to get the nail fixed they charged me $5 to fix the one nail less than a week later & mind you I had already spent $50 for the dip manicure. read more

I've been going to this place for several months now. After trying a few nail techs, I found one who I liked (Yee). Yee typically does great work and is always working to hone her craft and keep up with the latest trends, which I love and appreciate. Unfortunately the past 3 times she's done my nails I've had 1-2 nails break well before it is time for me to return. I'm not sure what she or I have been doing different the reason these breaks keep happening. Nevertheless, she's always fixes them with no problem (or charge), but it is frustrating to be making these extra trips to the nail salon. So the reason for the mere 2 star review....Yee did my nails (dip mani last Saturday). I had to come back Monday for a repair. Then last night ANOTHER nail broke so I came back for a repair this morning. I hit her up to tell her what had happened and she told me to come, but someone else would have to fix it. I told her that was fine as long as they did it well. So I get there and I'm seated with Lee, owner/manager. He doesn't do nails well, but I figured it was ONE nail and he could use the others as his guide. I sit down and this man proceeds to take an acrylic to the base of my nail to pop the polish off. I immediately told him absolutely not, i was fine letting it soak off. He tells me that will take forever....AND?!? So he starts soaking it off, doesn't even soak it all the way off, and starts the repair. No big deal...I'm getting the same color. So he's being SUPER rough, like the filing is hurting, he finishes the repair and the shape is wrong AND the color at the base of my nail is lighter than the rest. So I pointed this out to Yee and she was like tell him to fix the shape. I bring this to his attention and he clips the tip and again starts roughly filing my nail. I'm heading amour the door when he shouts to the receptionist that I need to pay $5. So I ask the girl if she's kidding because mind u this is my 3rd trip to this salon in 7 days. She is petrified and staring at me like she can't understand the words coming out of my mouth. I give her the $5 and leave, but once I got outside I realized this was unacceptable considering how much money I spend in this place. So I go back in and tell him this isn't okay and u need to fix my nail properly especially since you're making me pay for it. He says he doesn't see a problem with the nail. I ask the lady now in his chair and without my prompting she points out the exact issues I'd noticed. So he sends her off for a pedicure and tells me he will fix it. He proceeds to roughly "fix" my nail...asking me what I want him to do. I could feel my blood boiling so I let him finish as best he could and just left. All of this was after I was overcharged $5 last weekend and dismissed that b/c it was just $5. I'm done and highly recommend no one go to this place. read more

Yes guys I came back!! Even after my interesting experience last time I couldn't help it. My shellac manicure was so great last time that I opted to give it another go before the holidays! I happened to get the same girl again and I sat at the bar again. She took her time, made sure I was happy with my shape and the opaqueness of the color. I went for a more natural pink this time instead of red. I can't stop staring at them as I type this review out. They are so deng shiny! I was happy with my second experience here. I came here the first time because I needed a mani/pedi done badly, was in a rush and couldn't get an appointment with my go-to lady at my regular place. The nail tech did a wonderful job with my gel french manicure and shaped my nails really well the way I wanted her to. My pedicure was also excellent. I noticed she used sterile equipment and I was very happy with her work. I was hoping it wasn't a one-hit wonder so I wanted to come back. The second time I came in, however, I was quite disappointed and I don't think I am going to be back. The got a mani/pedi as usual (with a different nail tech) and the pedicure was wonderful but I was very disappointed with my manicure. She did not do a very good job with the cuticles that after a couple of days, it feels like they need worked on again. She also painted them too far from where the cuticles would start growing resulting in a very amateur looking paint job. Some nails were done well while others were not so the work was overall very inconsistent. Also, she took out the tools from a dusty looking box which made me feel like I might get an infection at a certain point. I just wanted to get out of there and fast! I did not like the experience, whatsoever. Needless to say, I am going back to my regular place. read more

Had a wonderful experience today at Bahama! called in an hour ahead to make a reservation for two mani pedis, came in and immediately got our color, and placed in massage spa chairs. My Mom and I both received great treatment, they were quick and detailed (sorry I forgot to catch the nail techs names oops). after they finished our pedicures they did our manicures right there in the pedicure chair, again, very quick and detailed. My favorite parts were the hot steamy towel massage and the little detailed brush they use to make your polish look perfect. I would give them 5 stars except their color selection is a little sad. We were able to find colors we liked but it could use some updating. We will definitely be back, very luxurious and soothing. read more

I've been coming here for the last 1.5 years and it's been great having a regular place that I can get good quality manicures for a decent price. I usually make an appointment (they get pretty busy) but on the occasions where I have had to walk in to fix a damaged nail they have been very accommodating. Sonny is a gem, and I wish I had found him earlier because he really takes his time and is very sweet. I'm always happy with my manicure when I leave. This salon is extremely hit or miss. I've had both bad experiences and really great ones. Just like any other salon, it's all dependent on the technician. Now that I've been here several times, I've learned that it's best to book an appointment with someone specific instead of just anyone-- I recommend Annie or Mai. Both do fantastic work and my cuticles have never looked better. The color and polish selection is extensive, the staff is usually friendly, and the salon is clean. Overall, the price is fair and I'm typically happy with my nails! read more

They recently got new massage chairs for pedicures and I think they're great! This is also the place to come if you're looking for a new gel mani color. It takes me awhile to choose because they have so many options!! I've never scheduled an appointment and I would say the longest I have ever had to wait was maybe 5 minutes. They say walk ins are welcome but they are not. I walked in and a younger employee was perfectly willing to accommodate my needs and had a manicurist that was able to help. The owner (older female) came to the counter...and stood there for about 5 minutes explaining why they couldn't do my nails. She was unpleasant and totally disregarded the accommodation her employee was willing to make for me. I frequent this nail spa all the time and was surprised at how I was treated. I used to come here regularly. I moved away a couple years ago. I was sad that when I came back to visit the quality of the pedicure I got just wasn't there. Very rushed at every step...took very little time or care with the foot care and leg massage. And their prices increased. Okay, I don't usually do the whole mani/pedi thing. I bite my nails like it's all I have to eat, so they tend to look terrible regardless of their color. I enjoy pedicures, but don't tend to spend money on something like that unless it's a social experience. (Also, I tend to have a little bit of feet anxiety...) Anyway, my friend from Kansas City was in town and wanted to get a mani/pedi. I had no idea where to take her, but we stumbled upon Bahama on our way to the Galleria. They were able to take us immediately and we were sat in wonderful massage chairs. It was beautiful inside (a little kitschy, but cute) and super clean. I opted for only a pedicure, whereas she got both. The prices were so reasonable and I really had a good time. The massage wasn't rushed and they were very very nice. My daughter and I walked in at 11:00 am on a Monday, and they took us right away for manicures. We're in town on vacation, and my 8 year old didn't want to go to the Science Center with Dad and Brother. So off we went for some girl time! The ladies who did our nails did a wonderful job (my daughter's nail tech even gave her little flowers on her thumbs!) and we're very quick. I think I found my new go to spot for mani/pedis! Lucky for me, it's super close to my office and they have an awesome special ($32 for both a manicure and pedicure). Emily did a great job on my nails...I didn't feel rushed or pressured to upgrade my package. She really took her time on the leg and arm massage, which I usually feel is rushed at most places.
