I was excited to come here based on reviews and pictures but the quality just isn't there. The manicurist rushed through even though there weren't any customers waiting. The shape of nail is varying and I told her I like my dip to be more thin and not too thick (see picture ). she didn't touch my cuticles, no hand massage, no lotion. read more

I just wanted to get my acrylic nails removed so I found a place nearest to me. It was raining at night and I tried to come in but they were hesitant because I didn't have a mask on. (The state declared it illegal to require customers to wear one) I almost left and I SHOULD HAVE! They RIPPED the acrylics off and then DRILLED them down even more. My nails were so brittle and thin, one of my nails broke as soon as I left the place. The only reason I'm giving a star is because Tony was nice and was the only one who greeted me coming in. The woman that waved me in just told me to sign in and threw a mask at me which I put on no problem since the service wouldn't have taken long. I also noticed the nail tech next to me stopped working on a woman and started watching the news behind her. She kept asking what was going on. If she was so concerned, Google it later? I had a pretty terrible pedicure here yesterday. The woman cut my nails SO short that they bled. I have never had them cut this short before, and it's so uncomfortable. They are still sore from yesterday and I will not be returning. She should not be cutting nails this short- it's painful! read more

There are a couple of things I look for in a nail salon: 1) Quality despite which technician you get 2) Flexibility to drop in without appointments Since I don't always have a consistent work schedule, it varies when I can get my nails done, so it's difficult for me to make an appointment ahead of time. Most of the time, I decide to get my nails done the night before and it's too late to call in for an appointment for the next day. Most of the nail salons I have gone to have been very good about walk ins, and this place is no different. Although, I do try to go within the first hour they open since this place is on the busier side. In terms of the quality of service: Is it too much to assume that every technician you get will do a nice job? I guess it is, because most places I have been to will have one... maybe two technicians that do a great job, but the rest of the employees are not so great. This was the biggest issue I had at my previous nail salons. And because of my unpredictable schedule, I can't schedule with the one technician that I like. Well, Exquisite Nails is a godsend. I have been lucky enough to get 7 different technicians (a few of them I got a couple of times) and they have all been wonderful! I once got a girl who was a substitute that doesn't regularly work there, filling in for one of the girls, who also was awesome. I usually get gel mani, reg pedi, or color changes on hands/feet. Prices are also competitive. It's not the cheapest in St. Louis but considering the quality, they do a better job than some of the high end places in the Clayton/Ladue area. Just as an FYI, if you pay with credit card, they charge an extra $1. read more

This is my second time here, but in between these 2 times I made a HUGE mistake and went to a different nail salon. Never again! This place is AMAZING! They do not grind your nails down for gel coats, which I am so pleased. I want my nails to be strong and healthy, and this place helps me do just that. My husband and I come here together and always get mani and pedi. Our stylists were a gentle touch, and were able to create exactly what I wanted! We drive 30 minutes to get our nails done and pass tons of other salons on the way. Definitely give this place a chance. They accept walk ins, are all masked, and have separation between stations. it pains me to write this, but my most recent experience at exquisite has turned me away from them. i am not the type to write reviews or complain about service but this was too much for me. I have gone here for years and i've never had any issues until today. I was a walk-in and I do not know the name of the woman who did my nails, but she was very rough. she never asked me what shape I wanted and by the time I got the chance to ask, it was too late and she had already began shaping square. she was incredibly rough with the drill and file and cut me on every finger on my left hand (pictured), as well as my right middle finger. after she noticed i was bleeding, she wiped it and kept going. it was partially my mistake for not speaking up with my concerns, and I know that, but I didn't feel fully comfortable speaking up for myself. the other nail technicians are wonderful and friendly, but this woman was not unfortunately. read more

I work out next door and see their business everyday and just decided to stop in for a spur of the moment mani and I'm sure glad I did. I was immediate greeted and taken care of by whom I can assume was the manager or owner, Tony. He didn't try to oversell me on anything but made sure I was aware of the services available. All the employees were very sweet and talkative for the most part. They asked me about my day and were genuinely compassionate. The prices were fair and normal for a salon. The salon felt dirty and run-down. The atmosphere is very utilitarian; it's not as elegant and charming as other salons in the area. The polishes are not well organized, and brands are mixed together. The technician was rough with the filing and cuticle trim, and he seemed rushed. There was very little moisurizing done, which is one of the biggest benefits of a manicure! The strangest thing is I was instructed to go to a sink and wash my hands before applying polish! The little lotion that was applied was instantly washed off, so my hands did not feel nourished when I left. I understand expectations for walk-in salons are lower than the higher-end establishments, but I do expect the basics of cleanliness. This is definitely a situation where you get what you pay for.
