I have struggled with local dry cleaners and prices. I tend to do more general alterations or repairs than cleaning items. I have been burned by a couple locations in town. I bought three pairs of jeans and tailoring was needed. I walked in and asked about pricing. The kind woman took a look, ask a couple of simple questions and priced them. I felt her authenticity and warm matter-of-fact approach. Others have significantly increased pricing and also offered excuses at the time of payment. Not only was this consistent from start to finish, on time as promised, the work was better. The price point slightly lower so with the service and skill, I'm beyond satisfied and look forward to recommending them. I would not recommend this place for alterations. $45 dollars to shorten a skirt is way overpriced! Then they charged me wrong for pick up when I came and I had to call the owner because apparently they don't know anything. The quality of the alterations looks like a 12 year old did it, it bunches up and you can see the thread, the sleeves are just folded in instead of cut off like a professional would do . Price wasn't upfront either, I paid about $120 to get 4 pairs of pants altered at the waist. I would go again to get other garments altered, but not sure about the pants, they're now slightly uncomfortable to wear because of the extra bunched up fabric in the waistband. read more

I had a terrible experience getting my clothes altered here. The people that works at this place seems to have no clue what they are doing. I received 3 different quotes from 3 different people. First on the phone, then during drop off, and a totally different price again at pickup. I ended up paying double what was originally quoted with no explanation even though I confirmed with them the pricing at drop off. Their turnaround time was about a week, which I was satisfied with due to how dirty and gross my wedding dress was after our barn wedding. We tried to go in one day and the gentlemen behind the counter told us when to come back for the seamstress and I appreciate him being honest. I have been coming in here at least once a month since they opened. I've never had any issues and the couple times there was a missed stain they had no issue fixing it. Two weeks ago I brought in 14 men's dress shirts and a pair of suit pants for cleaning. The pants had a stain that was removed. It cost $39 I bring everything home hang it up and notice I can still smell my husbands deodorant on them and they don't smell clean. I called that same night and was told to bring them back. My husband brought them back to be re cleaned. I picked them up today and they still smell like deodorant. I complained and was told "we can't clean your items anymore" (I also had four more dress shirts I'd brought to be cleaned) I brought everything home washed them in my washing machine dried them and no more smell. I then purchased a $35 garment steamer and they look almost like they just came home from the cleaners. I'm very disappointed that the issue wasn't made right and I still had to pay for a service that wasn't truly completed. EDIT:The owner called and offered to refund the cost of the shirts. My husband stopped by and received the refund. He said he doesn't want to lose our business. But his wife told me she wouldn't clean my stuff anymore. First $4.99 for a men's dress shirt?? When I got them back the sleeves on each one is bunched up and very wrinkled. I told the owner this does not look good and all wrinkled. Her response it's our machines. If you want them not wrinkled you need to ask for them to be hand done and it cost more. WHAT?!! I brought them here to be cleaned and pressed and now I need to go home and iron the sleeves myself. I told her I was not happy with them and she didn't say anything. My husband and I started coming here for dry cleaning since it's right next door to Fred Meyer. Not only do they do a fabulous job of dry cleaning various items, they have also removed and/or sewn on several patches for my husband's Tae Kwon Do uniforms. Customer service is awesome. We really don't have items dry cleaned that much, but I swear the woman and younger man who have helped us in the past always remember us. I love using clothes-cleaning services, especially if I'm out of town or when it comes to getting my suits cleaned and Taekwondo uniforms altered. Keep in mind that this is a busy time of year (New Year's Eve 2021). Maple Valley Cleaners was extremely busy. I was there to pick up my new uniform for Taekwondo, as I was having new flags and instructors patches put on and it was not quite ready yet. They told me it would be another hour before it was completed. I asked what time they closed because I was in no rush to get it back. They told me 4 pm and I told them I would return at 3 pm. This was at 11 am. I went and did some grocery shopping and decided to go back and tell them I would return on Monday to get it back and try to take a little busy pressure off of them. She was already done with it before I could say anything. I had a great smile on my face at the extra mile she went to in order to get my uniform done. This is another great place where I can practice my Korean language as well. They can get quite backed up during the busy season but went the extra mile to get through their rush. Took a couple of pants in and had to wait 4 days. Charged me $7.95 to dry clean a pair of slacks. The other two cleaners a minute away do it for $1 and $2 less. Now I know, and now you know. My husband trusted this place for several years, going there a couple of times a month... recently, we have seen a significant decline in their service and their ability to NOT lose clothing items. We dropped off a white prom dress this past summer, and when we went back to collect it, we were told that they didn't have it. Weird- because we also didn't have it. My husband went back last week to drop some items off, and he saw my dress hanging up on a rack. He asked them if it was ours, and they said yes. They also told him that they didn't lose it and it has been here. **mind you, he probably dry cleans 1-2 times per quarter, and has been in at least 4 times (so 8 times with pick ups) since them claiming the dress was not there** They then proceeded to charge him $200 for a "wedding dress" cleaning. First off, it's not a wedding dress. Second, I purchased the dress for $100. Third, my actual wedding dress cleaning wasn't even $200; it was less than $100. HOW ON EARTH ARE YOU GOING TO CHARGE THAT MUCH THEN?! Especially after you lost it! When he went back in to confront them, they only gave him a 30% store credit... So, today, we went and picked up his dress shirt and two of my dresses (he dropped them off the same day that he found the prom dress last week). As they're rolling through the wrack, I pointed out a dress shirt that my husband has been missing for over a year. And look at that, it was his! Like 5 items in front of our clothes that we were picking up and she wasn't even going to hand it to us at all. The lady told us that it has been here for a REALLY long time and that they probably called and didn't have any answer, so that's why it didn't get picked up. Which doesn't explain why he never got it in the 10+ times he's gotten things dry cleaned/picked things up since then. So that's two items that they lost of ours and fortunately we have back, but also paid a significant amount for... My husband also had his name written inside a brand new dress shirt in ink... Needless to say, we will not be returning. There's no sense in trusting a business that can't bother to even own up to their mistakes and will still charge you a boat load of money when they do make the mistakes. read more

I've been coming to this place for quite some time now. Years. Even though I no longer live in Maple Valley anymore, I wanted to stick with them for long term. With that being said, I can't process some of the things that I came across. Today I ended up paying $4.30 per shirt. I am not sure where this price came from, but even Bellevue / Issaquah charge under $3.00. Multiple locations. Multiple businesses. What's more ironic is Maple Valley Cleaners apparently charge $.45 cents for each "SHORT SLEEVE" shirt. Weird fee, the fact that short sleeve shirt has less material. No other place that I called, charge you this ridiculous "SHORT SLEEVE FEE." That's all fine I guess, each place sets their own fees. Except that fact that I had a few shirts which weren't short sleeve on the last pile I brought. Which makes me think how many times they charged me before for something that shouldn't have been charged. Setting different prices, different days. HORRIBLE! RUINED MY SHIRTS! These guys think its ok to write your last name on the inside of dress shirts. Completely unprofessional and pure laziness. They even tried to remove the ink/marker from the last name they wrote and made it worse. I now have about 10 dress shirts destroyed by these guys. Not only that but my shirts smell like a 80 year old woman because of the cleaners they use. Not sure who runs this place but its complete crap. I will never step foot in this place. read more
