Strawberry Cake Donut
Lloyd C.

Maple Leaf Donuts located in the Meadow Square Shopping Center is a no frills, just plain old fashion donut shop turning out old classic flavored donuts and bagel sandwiches. A nice family owned business for over 10+ years. The parking is plentiful in this plaza. Though beware of construction. I picked up a strawberry cake donut which was a moist, fluffy cake with a sweet icing, though not overtly sweet. Also, a glazed raspberry jelly donut. The donut was airy, fluffy and filled with delicious raspberry jam. It took me three bites to finally reach the pocket of jam but it was a good amount. I am glad I don't live close by, otherwise, this place would be a daily thing. They know how to make a good tasting donut. Support your local business.

Living in Fremont nearly all my life, I've always driven past this donut shop when it was closed! I finally stopped by today b/c I was looking for a Vietnamese coffee to go with my breakfast sandwich. You can tell that this is a beloved joint because during the duration of my sandwich, many customers greeted the workers like old friends, saying they were back in the area visiting and had to come in or said things along the lines of "Long time no see!" And "if I don't see you before the end of the year, happy new year!" They have your normal run of the mill flavor of donuts and some cronuts as well. Since we were here for sandwiches, we only got a dozen donut holes. I found them to be a little harder than I like and not really too glazed, but still addicting to pop in my mouth. Along with the donut holes, we ordered two Vietnamese iced coffees and a number 2 (egg, cheese and sausage) and a number 3 (egg, cheese and bacon), both of which come on a croissant. Everything came out rather quickly despite how busy they were! The Vietnamese coffees are not too sweet nor as strong as I have had them at other shops, would have liked possibly a little more condensed milk. The sandwiches were nice and piping hot, however, were smushed flat?? possibly from being in a panini press (?). The best part of a croissant is the nice and flakey crust, but they were legit SO flat, it was kind of comical, it still tasted good though haha. Overall, I would totally return! The prices aren't horrible & I absolutely love the community that they have built. :)

How cute are their doughnut boxes :)

Still has the best breakfast croissant sandwiches in Fremont. I have been coming here for many years and the quality is always consistent. If you like blueberries then try the glazed blueberry doughnut, they are my go to along with their glazed old fashioned traditional doughnuts :)

I don't normally go to donut shops without getting a donut, but I decided to get something different today. I wanted to try one of their breakfast sandwiches, which is my favorite Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Croissant. I have to say that it tastes delicious and it's only $6.75, which is fairly priced compared to other restaurants with better ambiance. I am planning to come to this place often to get breakfast sandwiches, but I will still get the donuts here.

A dozen. 2 Glazed raised , 2 strawberry cake, 4 chocolate raised, 2 Jelly filled and 2 cinnamon rolls.

Had for the first time, left a lasting impression. I will be back for more! Light, fluffy...flavorful...no greasy taste. I'm very happy! I had them delivered through DD but I liked that I was able to select each donut I wanted via the app, they were packaged with care...the stickier donuts were separated with paper to preserve the donut and prevent them from sticking to the donuts next to them. Also, the box was taped up nice and secure. I appreciated this level of CARE! Thank you!

I got a raspberry filled and a regular glazed donut, there was a lot of raspberry filling and the glazed donut was a bit smaller but had good chew to it

We love a classic donut shop - one that has chocolate and glazed raised donuts, cake donuts, and old fashioned donuts. So when I heard that Maple Leaf is the best classic donut shop in Fremont, I knew we had to try it. We got donut holes, chocolate raised, glazed raised, chocolate cake, and chocolate old fashioned. It was fine, but not to our taste - the raised donuts and donut holes were missing that yeasty flavor that we love, and the chocolate donuts had a distinct flavor that we didn't care for. At least it was nice to finally try Maple Leaf!

I am a sucker for small shops and this place is exactly that. It gives the vibe of the donut shops you'd stop by before you go to school when you were younger. And now it's feels like it's the go to spot to grab a snack before heading to work. Overall, food is pretty good but not exceptional and the workers are so nice and friendly that they make me want to never try another shop.

There's no seating area inside the bakery, but there are some tables outside next to a water fountain. Of the times that I've been there, it's mostly empty and clean, and the trash bins are not overflowing. The donuts are absolutely delicious. The brioche donut is soft but holds the fillings in well. There's also a bit of crunch from the sugar on the outside of the donut. There's an ample amount of filling, so you get to taste the flavors. So far, my favorites are Irish cream, lemon blueberry, and banana cream. It is a bit messy to eat, so have napkins and a small plate to catch any sugar or filling that may fall out when you bite into it. We had their chocolate chip cookie. It looked like a big mound of baked dough. Overall, it was okay. I would easily skip this for the donuts instead. I haven't tried their coffees, but my daughter loves the hot chocolate, and I have been enjoying their calamansi juice. It's nice and tart, not too sweet. I have seen some savory options but have not tried them. I will be back to explore the menu.

All of the glazes for the donuts (with the exception of the apple fritter) were just tooooo sweet. I figured they would use the same glaze, but I guess not? The fritter itself had a nice crisp and crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. Wow!!! This is a Legit 5 Star Breakfast Sandwich and Donut Shop in the heart of Fremont…read more I love their breakfast sandwich in a croissant or even on a bagel. We ordered the famous hotlink sausage, everything sandwich and it is all great. The highlight of their breakfast sandwich is that you can customize your egg whether sunny side up or scrambled egg unlike the other typical store that only offers super soft, soggy and or microwaved scrambled egg and that for me is a no no. Here you will enjoy your sandwich with all freshly cooked ingredients. Their bread like croissant, bagels and donuts are made and freshly baked everyday. As you walked inside the store, you will mesmerized with all the freshly baked goodies that you can't resist. Coffee is just a plain brewed coffee and nothing fancy but it is real coffee anyways. The staff/owner is so friendly and accomodating,He is so patient with my questions since it is my first time there. I will definitely come back and try their other deliciois baked goodies for sure. At $6.50, it's not a cheap treat, but it was super delicious and I'm glad we tried it. The drinks were also great.
