Imagine yourself, 530 am, making a run to the donut shop for some pastries for that overtime shift you have on a Saturday morning. Pull up to the parking lot & as soon as you walk out of your car, not even 500 feet away you instantly smell the fresh scent of baked goods. That my fellow Yelpers is when you know a shop is MOM AND POP. My mom took us to Maples growing up and coming here brought warm nostalgia to my memories and my nostrils. I haven't been to this bakery in yearsssss so it's safe to say, the feeling is similar to seeing an old friend you lost contact with but never really lost that connection. Coming back today put an instant smile on my face. I ordered about 10 donuts, 4 muffins, 1 apple turnover and 1 chocolate pastry. Unfortunately, I won't be trying these delicious, tempting goods, but sharing this dose of happiness with my co workers will be just as satisfying! Great neighborhood donut shop. The family that runs this business is super hard working and very friendly and kind to its customers. I enjoy dropping by here whenever I want a fresh donut or a delicious croissant breakfast sandwhich. I see they also offer lunch croissant sandwhiches but have yet to try those. I am a donut snob. To date, the best donut I have ever had was from a shop in the small town of Chama, New Mexico almost 20 years ago. Until about 2 weeks ago I had never found a shop that even came close. Now I am ecstatic to have wandered into Maple Leaf. The test of a good donut shop isn't fancy flavors but rather a simple raised, glazed donut. It must be light and airy, like biting into a cloud, it should not have an oily feel in the mouth, and the glazed should be sweet but not cloying. Maple Leaf checks all those boxes except it's almost TOO airy lol. The perfect donut should have just a teensy more solidity when biting into it. I score Maple Leaf at a 9.9/10. Hi Everyone, I've been coming here for about 9-10 years now. The donuts taste good and balanced. But my favorite all time to get here is just a plain egg and cheese croissant. I'm not sure what it is but if I ever order this anywhere else it never taste as good. I know what your possibly thinking just egg and cheese! that's so simple which honestly your right but and yes there's a but I'm telling you the way there's taste always has me ordering 2 every time. Family owned business that puts a lot of love into their creation to put a smile on our face. During the soccer season in spring and summer this place will run out of donuts due to families bringing food to tournaments and games. The earlier you get here the better. I decided to buy donuts there because 1) it had a 4-star rating on Yelp, and 2) because it was on my way in to work. I arrived there at 5:35a only to find they were still closed, yet their posted hours indicated they open daily at 5:30a. I waited until 5:45a, being told "not yet" the entire time I waited outside. And their reply when I asked what time they would be opening was "not yet." One would think they would be a little more attentive to their customers, especially with so many businesses struggling during this pandemic, but I guess they have a large enough customer base that losing one potential customer was irrelevant to them. I liked this place until i came in and got change for $100 innwhich the guy got from underneath the register and the rest on top. I go to get gas and gives the lady 60 bucks from the change i got, the lady tells me oh this 20 is fake.
