3.75 stars Over the weekend, I was craving donuts. In fact, I was really craving Stan's donuts in Santa Clara, but I was on the east bay side so I went on yelp and looked for a nearby donut shop.. Found this place and was not disappointed. Very casual and I got a few glazed donuts, a crueller and a donut bar. They were all very soft and fluffy, almost melt in your mouth. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was based on the taste/flavor. But I guess that is subjective. I can't pinpoint it. It just was unique, but it was still a nice fresh soft fluffy fried dough. I may go back to do a second test to just make sure if that is their standard flavor or it was an off day for me lol :0 read more

A friendly mom and pop shop. Lately I have been exploring local donut shops in which I pass by all the time, but I have never visited. This shop is located next to a FoodMax which I frequent the shop at later in the afternoon. 1.75 for an original glazed and 0.35 for a donut hole. I swung by around 9 AM on a weekday morning and the display was 90% gone. Good for them! read more

On Stevenson next to the Gas Station, nice family owned place that is open very early which I love. When I went most of the early customers were contractors and were loading up on the Breakfast sandwiches and Coffee. We got the Ham and Sausage Breakfast Croissants, they are made to order. You can see them made right behind the cash register. They have their system down and the sandwiches were ready in less than 5 minutes, they come pre-cut in half and are beautifully layers and very precisely cut, taste is great...not too heavy or greasy. 5/5. Sausage Roll, sausage tasted really good, reminded me more like a Portuguese Sausage than a hotdog. A lot of asian bakeries go light on the hotdog to carbs ratio, Penny does opposite with a huge amount of sausage and very thin bread around it. I love donuts. I have a mental checklist of all the places I like. Penny Donuts is my go to. The uncle and auntie there are so sweet. No matter how busy it gets, they're always always on top of it. Especially in the mornings when it's rush hour from construction workers etc. coming in during the EARLY hours for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and donuts. Walked in about 9am on a weekday, and walked out in LESS than 5 mins for my Apple Fritter. The process was QUICK and SIMPLE. If you're NOT having a box of donuts for breakfast, I'd recommend bringing some CASH. Anything less than $5, there's a 0.50 additional charge. I was introduced to this place from my son's pre-school. They served some delicious donuts for their family day and I couldn't resist finding out about the store. They warned me that I need to go there early or order in advance to get it. Located near the FoodMaxx on Stevenson Blvd. been to that complex so many times and never spotted this place. Walked in about 9am on a weekend, there was already a good number of customers waiting. The lady over there was really helpful and explained me that I may have to wait for some time to get the donuts due to high demand. I ordered for a dozen and waited for around 20 mins. Must say, the wait was worth. the donuts were too good to miss. while waiting, I noticed that they have different varieties of sandwiches and smoothies as well. May be the next time. I just happened to notice this place as I was walking to a store in the area. I saw their menu board and was curious. I finally decided to try them in December 2021. I ordered a strawberry smoothie with boba, a turkey avocado croissant sandwich, and a pastrami croissant sandwich. When I got to the register and ordered, the workers were extremely friendly and nice. My order took a few minutes, and I must say. That was one of the tops sandwiches I've ever had. They're cheap too. I ate the turkey, my dad had the pastrami. He alas said his sandwich was one of the best he's had. I highly recommend this place, both for the customer service and the tasty food. This mom n' pop shop is a local treasure ran by friendly owners. I've been coming here for the better part of 5 years and I bring about 3 dozens of donuts into work each month - everyone keeps on asking where I'm getting them. One of my surprising finds on Yelp. I was trying to figure out what to serve at a company morning meeting. A coworker suggested breakfast burritos but I decided to go with breakfast croissant sandwiches. Yelp found Penny Donuts which was very close to the office. The friendly staff helped me order the croissant goodies the week before the meeting. I ended up ordering 30 croissant sandwiches all with egg, cheese, and meat (choice of plain, ham, bacon, or sausage). I also picked up some donuts to go for "quality control" purposes. They were both fresh so I was encouraged about the sandwiches. On the day of the meeting, I headed over there 15 mins before the start of the meeting. My order was ready to go. While heading back, the delicious smell was permeating my car. Everyone gave positive comments to the egg, cheese, and meat ration, the taste, and texture.
