A friendly mom and pop shop. Lately I have been exploring local donut shops in which I pass by all the time, but I have never visited. This shop is located next to a FoodMax which I frequent the shop at later in the afternoon. 1.75 for an original glazed and 0.35 for a donut hole. I swung by around 9 AM on a weekday morning and the display was 90% gone. Good for them! read more

On Stevenson next to the Gas Station, nice family owned place that is open very early which I love. When I went most of the early customers were contractors and were loading up on the Breakfast sandwiches and Coffee. We got the Ham and Sausage Breakfast Croissants, they are made to order. You can see them made right behind the cash register. They have their system down and the sandwiches were ready in less than 5 minutes, they come pre-cut in half and are beautifully layers and very precisely cut, taste is great...not too heavy or greasy. 5/5. Sausage Roll, sausage tasted really good, reminded me more like a Portuguese Sausage than a hotdog. A lot of asian bakeries go light on the hotdog to carbs ratio, Penny does opposite with a huge amount of sausage and very thin bread around it. We actually had to wrap it one more time at home in tortilla to soften the Sausage. Donuts were good, definitely fresh made that morning. read more

I love donuts. I have a mental checklist of all the places I like. Penny Donuts is my go to. The uncle and auntie there are so sweet. No matter how busy it gets, they're always always on top of it. Especially in the mornings when it's rush hour from construction workers etc. coming in during the EARLY hours for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and donuts. So so sweet and the donuts are always solid. I really like their donut holes and old fashioned donuts. read more

Walked in about 9am on a weekday, and walked out in LESS than 5 mins for my Apple Fritter. The process was QUICK and SIMPLE. If you're NOT having a box of donuts for breakfast, I'd recommend bringing some CASH. Anything less than $5, there's a 0.50 additional charge. Apple Fritter was AIGHT, nothing really to write home about. I'll probably try their sandwiches next time as I see people raving bout it. Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all check them out and support the small mom n pop donut shop instead of Krispy Kreme! read more

I was introduced to this place from my son's pre-school. They served some delicious donuts for their family day and I couldn't resist finding out about the store. They warned me that I need to go there early or order in advance to get it. Located near the FoodMaxx on Stevenson Blvd. been to that complex so many times and never spotted this place. Walked in about 9am on a weekend, there was already a good number of customers waiting. The lady over there was really helpful and explained me that I may have to wait for some time to get the donuts due to high demand. I ordered for a dozen and waited for around 20 mins. Must say, the wait was worth. the donuts were too good to miss. while waiting, I noticed that they have different varieties of sandwiches and smoothies as well. May be the next time. Small place, service is terrific. Like I mentioned, you have to be there early to get the donuts. Total value for money stuff. recommended. read more

I just happened to notice this place as I was walking to a store in the area. I saw their menu board and was curious. I finally decided to try them in December 2021. I ordered a strawberry smoothie with boba, a turkey avocado croissant sandwich, and a pastrami croissant sandwich. When I got to the register and ordered, the workers were extremely friendly and nice. My order took a few minutes, and I must say. That was one of the tops sandwiches I've ever had. They're cheap too. I ate the turkey, my dad had the pastrami. He alas said his sandwich was one of the best he's had. I highly recommend this place, both for the customer service and the tasty food. I go there every single week now for a sandwich. read more

This mom n' pop shop is a local treasure ran by friendly owners. I've been coming here for the better part of 5 years and I bring about 3 dozens of donuts into work each month - everyone keeps on asking where I'm getting them. If that's not a good testament, then I don't know what is. Everything is done fresh daily. Just the plain glazed is good but what's better is the crullers. So fluffy and they bake them so well. Seems like the popular time is between 6-8am so if you are coming for breakfast - expect a little wait. read more

I usually come here randomly when I'm in the mood for some fresh, hot, succulent, delicious donuts, and every time I come here they deliver. Service is amazingly fast and efficient. It doesn't matter if there are two customers or ten you'll be outta there in less than five minutes I guarantee it!!! I've always been a fan of the pink box donut companies versus Krispy Kreme (although not bad) and grocery store donuts simply because the quality can't be beat. Penny donuts has set up their business to be social distant compliant with touchless payments, visible face masks signs (mandatory), and plastic shields just in case someone has that unpredictable sneeze. So if your in the Fremont area and in the mood for a tasty donut or two stop by Penny's and treat yourself. How could I forget, but if your not in the mood for a donut they have many different options of breakfast sandwiches such as (bacon/egg), (ham/egg/avocado), (turkey/bacon/lettuce) just to name a few. Coffees that are always hot and ready to serve, energy drinks, OJ, sodas, apple juice and etc. Overall a solid spot to grab a quick breakfast. Go early to mid day because they close at 2pm. read more

Vasy's is a local donut shop in Fremont that serves fresh donuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, etc. I picked up a couple of donuts that piqued my interest and was pleasantly surprised on how balanced the sweetness was and the nice fluffy-ness of the donut. Really delicious! I'll definitely be back.

I drove all the way from Foster City because I'd heard so many great things about Vasy's Donut Shop…read moreand was excited to finally try it. I arrived before closing time, but the employee at the front, Mop, told me they were completely sold out of everything. While I understand that can happen, what disappointed me most was his attitude. He seemed like he wanted to ignore me and brush me off rather than provide friendly customer service. The entire experience left me feeling unwelcome, and the long drive ended up being for nothing. I really hope the shop considers hiring friendlier staff or providing better customer service training, because this interaction honestly makes me hesitant to ever come back. It's unfortunate, especially considering the great reputation this shop has.

Niles Donuts makes super fresh donuts at their corner shop: my go-to is the cinnamon twist ($2.75)…read more- it's sky-high fluffy and yeasty goodness with a light sprinkle of cinnamon and a crisp thin glaze, so just a touch of sweetness. Plus, it's large enough for 2+ servings. It's your typical simple utilitarian donut shop with two booths to eat-in. It's very clean & tidy. The ladies are quick and courteous. There's always at least one or two people in line ahead of you, no matter what time of day it is. Which means it's good! Get there early by 10/10:30 am: breakfast sandwiches are definitely all gone by then and the donut case is down to maybe a third full. The early bird gets the best & freshest donuts! They come out warm if you get there early enough (5-7 am). Sometimes they have tamales and fried egg rolls for sale, which are delicious too. You can probably call in to order them. I decided to be adventurous and branch out to try something different. The chocolate frosted chocolate cake donut ($1.75) was medium chocolatey, fresh, a little bit crisp, and lightly sweet. Will get it again when I'm in the mood for chocolate and cake donuts. The apple fritter ($2.75) had a few chunks of apple, slightly crisp, a little cinnamon and sweet, fried perfectly (not oily), but it was spread-out flat. I like mine with lots of crags almost crunchy, filled with apples & cinnamon, and lofty & yeasty. I'll pass on it in the future, unless it looks more craggily and dome shaped next time. Docked a half star. I got a maple bar filled with custard cream ($2.75) and it was giant, filled to the brim from both sides! The filling was a vanilla pudding and they were so generous, it almost burst when I bit into it. The maple flavor was fragrant and the donut was yeasty good, but the filling had a funny aftertaste - an astringent bitter like artificial sweetener. Sorry, I had to dock another half star for this misstep. Next time I'll just get the maple bar plain ($2.50). I noticed the prices are higher by about 50¢, if you order online through DoorDash or other apps. Also if you buy a half dozen or more donuts, the pink box is free. Otherwise, it's 50¢.

Wow!!! This is a Legit 5 Star Breakfast Sandwich and Donut Shop in the heart of Fremont…read more I love their breakfast sandwich in a croissant or even on a bagel. We ordered the famous hotlink sausage, everything sandwich and it is all great. The highlight of their breakfast sandwich is that you can customize your egg whether sunny side up or scrambled egg unlike the other typical store that only offers super soft, soggy and or microwaved scrambled egg and that for me is a no no. Here you will enjoy your sandwich with all freshly cooked ingredients. Their bread like croissant, bagels and donuts are made and freshly baked everyday. As you walked inside the store, you will mesmerized with all the freshly baked goodies that you can't resist. Coffee is just a plain brewed coffee and nothing fancy but it is real coffee anyways. The staff/owner is so friendly and accomodating,He is so patient with my questions since it is my first time there. I will definitely come back and try their other deliciois baked goodies for sure. You may pay them thru cash, venmo or zelle as well so that is so convenient for customers.

My favorite is the maple cinnamon twist, but it sells out FAST. Most popular items do, so get there before 9:00 a.m. for the best selection. Amazing breakfast sandwiches Some of the best bagel sandwiches I've had, especially for the price. Highly recommend the croissant sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. Come prepared Cash and Zelle only. There's a Bank of America ATM across the parking lot if needed. Overall, this place has that true neighborhood breakfast spot feel: great food, fair prices and genuinely wonderful people.
