A large Trump sign awaits you at the front entrance of this establishment. Apparently, they only want their elk to buy donuts, God knows they never learned good business manners. Politicizing a donut shop is surefire entrepreneurial suicide. Why? Well I'm sure they have their core, but they will never have growth beyond that core, as long as that huge sign is up. They won't ever have out of towners trying them. Despite my seeing the sign I tried a donut and it was so coyingly sweet it nearly broke a tooth. Advice to the owner is: keep your politics to yourself. You make donuts. They won't taste any better because you support Trump or a Democrat. Concentrate on better ingredients and cleanliness of your place. Don't tarnish your clients experience with politics. Even Republicans have lost faith in him. Why not make the most money can make. If you follow Trump's capitalism, you should be a smarter business person and maximize your growth potential. Good luck. read more

Everyone used to love these shops as kids. Sorry to report they have really slipped - and I mean badly - in recent years. I found roaches in two of their shops within the last month, and filthy bathrooms. The quality of their product - what once was really fine - is now just flat out bad. Gloppy glazed that are both greasy and soggy at the same time. Watery coffee. Do yourself a favor - if you crave donuts, go to Dunkin, or Krispy Kreme - gosh, weven the local grocery store is better that these joints.....Charlie has really let things slip. read more

Awesome selection of donuts! I have yet to try one that I don't like. Whenever my husband and I have guests, we always have them try a maple donut! They are quite creative with their flavors...cookies and cream, fruity pebbles, chocolate caramel pretzel, etc. So good! read more

maple donuts are to york county what central park is to new york city. ok...that might be a stretch, but you see where i'm going with this....maple donuts are donuts to york countians. the classic maple glazed donut is pure perfection - dense and light at the same time, the perfect amount of glaze, and incidentally the only kind of donut that doesn't make my teeth "zing" on contact. i'm not an adventuruous donut eater so i can't really comment on the other 57 varieties, but they look good! coffee is ok, and the atmosphere at the donut shop is classic donut shop. buy fresh buy local! Maple Donuts in York, PA are simply THE BEST!! They not only taste delicious, they are much larger and more filled than any donut I have come across in other donut shops. Plus, the unique varieties have us driving over an hour (each way) a few times a year for them (the peanut butter and jelly and the peanut butter cup are to die for)! We love these so much, that we decided to have a donut tier wedding cake for our wedding last weekend and had a relative pick up 9 dozen donuts for us. We received so many compliments on the donuts and we made sure everyone knew they were Maple Donuts! They are well worth the trip! read more

I live 2 minutes from this fine establishment and it will be my favorite childhood memory and adult sweet spot for the rest of my life. The donuts here are made like fastnachts and have a dense, super rich style about them. You can get virtually any flavor you can think of, but the classic glazed or devil's food will always have a special place in my heart. The donuts were good, not great. I went around 8 pm on a Thursday, so maybe they weren't as fresh as they could be. I tried several kinds and the s'mores donut was surprisingly my favorite. The fancy donut (chocolate raised w/ sprinkles) was good, pretty classic. I was disappointed in the creme filled w/ chocolate icing donut. These are usually my favorite, but the creme tasted weird. Being from Texas, I was looking for an alternative to the diners we've been eating breakfast at. So we decided to try Maples donuts. The donuts were very good. Can't say as good as Texas ones. Lol. But we all enjoyed them. The place was clean and neat. My only downside was that two employees were arguing right in front of us, back and forth. The prices were better than expected. Without a doubt the best donuts I've had and continue to have no matter where else I try them. If you love glazed donuts then this is your place bc they glaze practically EVERYTHING. Donuts are always fresh and coffee is always HOT- just the way I like it. I wanted to support this local business but the donuts are really... kind of terrible to be honest. They somehow manage to be too dry and too greasy at the same time. The frosting is sickeningly sweet, as is the vanilla cream. The Boston cream is marginally better, but in my opinion it still has a weirdly acidic aftertaste. With my dozen, I stuck with fundamentals like peanut butter frosting, apple fritters, glazed donuts, etc., but suffice it to say that the more "creative" offerings like the Fruity Pebbles donut looked... deeply unappetizing to say the least. For context, I don't consider myself any particular donut snob -- I think you can find much better than this for a little cheaper in basically any nearby grocery store or even most big chain restaurants. Service was pleasant -- I almost gave it 2 stars for that, but I really couldn't justify giving these donuts anything other than a 1. I'm kind of baffled by all the high ratings... I've had donuts from here on a couple occasions and have been disappointed every time. read more
