Delightful and delicious!! These donuts are no joke. They have so many flavor options and combos. Both the cake and the raised varieties are amazing. We watched as they were filling and icing the freshly made donuts and getting prepared for the next AM (we were there about 11pm). Even the coffee is magical here. There are several locations and not all are open 24/7. The 24/7 locations may close their doors @ midnight but the drive through stays open. There is ample parking and the seating area inside is so nostalgic and lovely! It's super retro inside and I hope they never change it as it's a classic donut shop vibe. The staff is always friendly and eager to help you. The prices are reasonable and the quality of what you are getting is excellent. They also have donut holes and muffins. There's a rather large selection of their 'day olds' available for purchase. They also sell their own coffee blend to take home and make. Grab a couple dozen to go. Trust me on this! This was my first visit to Maple Donuts while visiting York, PA (my fiancé's home town!). We ordered a donut and breakfast sandwich each. I got the coconut donut and he got the peanut butter donut. There is a huge selection of donuts and I was immediately overwhelmed upon the entering the shop. They had a lot of Christmas and holiday themed ones. My coconut donut was huge. It was super sweet and super good. My fiancé's donut was filled with a peanut butter-esque icing/filling. It was super sweet and only mildly peanut buttery. Four stars because the donuts could have been slightly fluffier (I'm splitting hairs here). My favorite part of this visit, surprisingly, was the breakfast sandwich! I think the eggs were actually made there (as opposed to being frozen). They were fluffy and airy - not really want you'd expect quality-wise from a donut shop! Grew up on Maple Donuts, was always a treat as a kid. They use to be the best in town. Use to be is the key word there. The owner is more worried about throwing his political views in your face with his bill boards all over the place during election times instead of the quality of his donuts. The old ladies behind the counters could care even less than the owner. They know their customer base is right wing and right wing only in their eyes. Last time i was there a family of 5 I'll just say non white customers were there and kept getting over looked until they were the last ones to be served and the look on the old ladies face screamed disgust to be waiting on them. Putting the bigotry and MAGA crap aside the donuts are just straight trash now. Either you get a dry tasteless donut or an overly sweet donut. I can find better in the bakery at Giant or Weis and they aren't good there either. The owner needs to stop wasting his money on the political bill boards and ads and focus on the ingredients and paying his staff a decent wage so he can hire someone other than retired ladies that don't want to be there in the first place. We discovered this on Thanksgiving day as we traveled to relatives in upstate New York. MacDonalds at Exit 34 Rt 83 was open on Thanksgiving and we needed breakfast, and low and behold Mable Donuts was next door and also open on Thanksgiving, had to go. The Donuts are huge and fresh, and reasonably priced, especially considering the size. They have huge selection even on thanksgiving and delicious. Now we make it a point to stop here anytime we are heading north either to Harrisburg or New York. On our latest stop in York PA, we hunted down Maple Donuts. Doughnuts: While my family and I were on a trip in York, we ordered a half dozen of doughnuts at the drive-through window. The half dozen included a Krueller doughnut. We took one bite of the Krueller doughnut while driving off and got back in line to buy more because it was a nice size and really good. Some of us wished that the doughnut did not have icing. It's a day later and we have not tasted the other doughnuts, but I'll update you later. Based on my limited tasting, I think you can expect a decent doughnut. Service: If you are non-white, skip this place. I asked the young man at the drive-through window what flavors did they have. He said I would have to come in for that. I replied, I am not coming in and began asking if he had certain flavors. He reluctantly stepped over to the doughnut case to name some of the flavors. He seemed very uncomfortable with us as non-white customers. As shared, we really liked the Krueller doughnut, so we immediately returned to the drive-through window. This time, an older women served us. She leaned forward out of the window and said we just sold out. I said, "oh, we must have taken the last one." She emphatically replied, "Yep, we don't have anymore," as she bit down on her bottom lip. I felt that she was not telling us the truth, so I parked my car and went inside. As soon as I walked through the door, she began to confess her lie as if she was spilling her guts to a priests. "Oh, we found some, but I could not tell you because you were pulling off," she said. Not only did she blatantly lie, she showed all of her cards as to why she didn't want us to have the doughnuts. Here's the story: I was next in line to be served and she knew what I wanted. However, she would not wait on me. And, the young man that previously waited on us stood nervously on the sideline. So, I was standing at the counter for ~45 seconds as their only customer with the two of them not servicing me. The older lady would not look my way. A white family came in and the older woman immediately asked them, "how may I help you?" Then another white family came in and she said, "I'll be with you in a minute." I stood there and the situation got so awkward for the young man that he finally asked, "Do you want the doughnuts?" I knew exactly the message the older lady was sending me. I won't ever go back. We stumbled upon this place after going to dinner at Mission BBQ in the same parking lot. My husband wanted something sweet and since he loves donuts as much as Homer Simpson, he had to get some here. There isn't anything fancy to the place. Just a simple donut shop with some regular and unique flavor choices. I was actually surprised to see this donut shop is open 24 hours. They sell individual donuts as well as donut holes. My husband ordered the chocolate custard (pretty much a Boston creme) and a couple of glazed donut holes that come in a set of four in one. I decided to get the sea salt caramel. My sister ordered two donuts herself. Our whole order of four regular donuts and two sets of the donutholes were about $5 and change. Quite the bargain. The donuts were very fresh even though we came around 8pm and stayed pretty fresh the next day as well. I really enjoyed the sea salt caramel and was my favorite of the bunch. Maple Donuts rocks. This is a casual place with an incredible selection of fresh, delicious doughnuts. Seriously, I was thrilled walking in. The appearance is a casual diner from the 60's but with a doughnut selection that rivals some of the hipster spots, well sort of, at least in variety. They don't just have glazed, chocolate cake and powdered jelly like Dunkin Donuts would. Display case is loaded with options, and can't wait until I'm back in the region to try more. I know a former employee at this maple donuts who has had horrible experiences here. Not only have they seen bugs (on food or crawling on the counters) but they have also seen mice, under the fridge where food is kept, and mouse traps where the bags are kept that hold the food that is sold to customers. I have seen photographs of these as well. They have seen employees grab food with their own hands "It's fine nobody is watching" and the manager does not do anything about it. The manager lets everyone wear nail polish/fake nails and jewelry and tells people to hide their nails and take the jewelry off ONLY when the boss Carey is coming in. The employees are not only rude to other employees, but also customers. I have heard stories about one of the girls literally cursing and flipping off one of the customers and the manager just laughed at it instead of punishing her. This store has failed safety inspections at least two times within the very few years they were there. The manager also talks about the employees she has fired and why they were fired which I thought was supposed to be confidential. Either way, I do not recommend working here or buying the food. read more

A Maple Donuts is always great. In the past I usually got an apple filled topped with caramel and always enjoyed it. Every now and then I would go with glazed holes and also found them to be good. Oh my goodness - these donuts rock! I'm pretty sure I swung into diabetic territory with some of the more heavily frosted creations but they were soooo good. They had some really interesting combinations, like sea salt caramel with pretzels and chocolate drizzle (very yummy); pb & chocolate; etc. I think my favorite was the lightly glazed with marshmallow cream filling. The donuts were super fresh - we got a box of 12 to take to friends we were visiting and they still were tasty two days later - and (at least by NYC standards) pretty inexpensive: 14 donuts was $11. Our family really enjoys doughnuts. However, we don't have many options near us except for an overpriced boutique doughnut shop and the grocery store. After a movie at Manchester cinema, we stopped in for a dozen (they give you a baker's dozen) Doughnuts and 3 dozen doughnut holes. They were very reasonable in price. My sister and I noticed this shop while driving to Lancaster, PA and after reading some online reviews, decided to stop on the drive back home. We arrived at Maple Doughnuts around 7:15 pm. A lot of the doughnut display was empty that time of night, so there wasn't a great selection. We had been looking forward to getting some maple bars, but to our surprise, what we had thought were maple bars were peanut butter doughnuts. Yech! Apparently they have NO maple doughnuts at Maple Doughnuts, so we got a chocolate bar, a twist (they call them bow ties) and a glazed doughnut. I can't believe some of the rave reviews for their doughnuts; they are not good. Besides being stale, the glazed doughnut and the bow tie were far too sweet; they reminded me of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, which I find disgusting. The glaze was also all crusty on the bottom, probably because they had obviously been sitting out for hours. The chocolate bar would have been okay if it hadn't been so stale. The service was fine and the doughnuts were reasonably priced. Too bad they just didn't taste very good. I don't recommend these doughnuts. read more

Well I have a bit of a dilemma 2 donut stores within a half mile of my place , both have drive up windows but that's where the similarities end. America may run on the other brand but that's because the vast majority never had a Maple donut. They are 10 times better than d.d. Donuts. Better hours , better service and a seriously better value. The only thing is that don't have the coffee options of the competitor. Best donuts in the area, hands down. Way better than Dunkin. They have a great selection and they use a lot of filling. Their donuts make you really feel like Dunkin is garbage. I love the drive thru option when we have the kids in the car. My only complaint is, once they run out of something, that's it. They're open 24 hours but if they run out of something at 5pm, you can forget about it. It makes no sense to me. I guess they only make donuts once per day and they want you to eat what's left. I would give them 5 stars if it weren't for that. read more
