The food was amazing! It is a little pricey though. But if you don't want much food or an all you can eat then this place is good for you! I do wish they had more variety of things, but the flavor was very rich! The service was really friendly and helpful!

I have been waiting for a new Malatang place to open up ! And they didn't disappoint. We came on Sunday right when they opened and everything was very clean and stocked up right away. We got our bowls and the cashier was very nice, making sure we were okay with all the garnishes they put on top, I also saw her help new time customers that never had malatang before. I honestly think this is better than the malatang place in Katy Asia town only because they have more broth options and even more toppings for your bowls! Their meat quality is super good that I couldn't help but grab some and I don't really eat meat like that with Malatang. Will be coming back! I'm already craving it

It's nice to have a mama tang restaurant in Houston as there are so few as there is. I wish, though that this place would hit the spot a little bit better. I went there on a weekday night and they already ran out of most of the broths. Furthermore, the labels were all mixed up and so I couldn't really tell what meat was which. The sauce bar also did not have all the sauces that I'm used to what I did have though was pretty good and not that bad considering that this is Cyprus in a drive to Chinatown for a hot pot is pretty far. The only thing I would say, though is that after adding all the weight, the hot pot came out as much as an all you can eat almost and therefore I'm not sure if the value is there. The place is very nice and the service was pretty good.

The Hot Pot experience is wonderful. Fresh ingredients with lots of variety of meats and vegetables. You have a choice of 5 different broths to choose from, in addition to your level of spiciness. You can control the amount of protein or vegetable in your bowl. Great service! The employees will explain the process if you are new to Malatang Hot Pot.

Great Hot Pot Spot! Mao Cia Hot Pot offers delicious, flavorful broth and very fresh ingredients. The sauce bar is well stocked, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. A great place for authentic hot pot--I'll definitely be back!

I come here like once a week for Maocai. You pick which ingredients you want, and the charge you by the lb. I believe it's $14.99/lb. Im usually under the pound so I pay $12-14 for a big bowl of soup. I usually get the beef tallow soup base spicy. Great place to eat for a quick lunch.

The service was top notch Kevin our waiter was perfect, he explained exactly what us first timers needed to know (we opted for the BBQ vs Hot Pot) and gave excellent amount of service without interrupting too often, but without ignoring. And now my favorite part the food.... We ordered the following for our meat selections: Prime Beef Brisket, Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Garlic Chicken, Pork Belly, Cumin Lamb and Garlic Shrimp. For veggies: Shiitake mushrooms, Mung Bean Sprouts, Onions, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Zucchini and we topped it off with a pineapple drink. My friend said the veal and the pork belly were both delicious, I don't eat either so my review is based on everything else. OMG the flavors were so packed into the meats they needed nothing else. The spicy beef bulgogi was by far my absolute favorite (I polished off two full servings myself) the spice profile was so perfect that it enhanced the beef without masking the natural flavor and the use a good quality beef as well so any toughness is due to your own over cooking which still didn't happen. The shrimp and chicken came in tied for second place for flavor bomb, I'm pretty sure they marinate this stuff for days for it to taste so full of flavor! There is also a fully stocked "Sauce Bar" with so many different kinds of sauces and additions. The inside is very large, but not loud and they have a full bar for those who wish to sit there. If you haven't tried them yet GO! You and your stomach will thank me.

Had a great meal with friends on New Year's Day…read more The venue is older and needs a bit more effort on upkeep. It is eclectic, decorated in an Asian pop culture theme with [sometimes promiscuous lol] music videos playing on a big projector screen. And, it is honestly loud (booths are in rather close proximity to one another and there's constant clatter & commotion from the table action). We had a few issues - the grill didn't stay hot (either malfunctioning or low on fuel), there weren't any hot buffet options (like other locations offer), and a few menu items were unavailable (ran out) - but we enjoyed our meal, nonetheless. Even with a few missing offerings, there is plenty of variety - meats, seafood, vegetables, soups, noodles & rice. The sauce bar has many condiments & dips; you can play mad scientist with your seasonings/marinade. And, there was a cold buffet that offered kimchi and a few fruits. They also had a long list of beverages that included boozy cocktails and exotic smoothies or teas. Kevin was an outstanding server - extremely attentive & superbly patient (bless his heart for accommodating our rowdy and very needy group of newbies lol). He was assisted by a hard working team of table runners and busters who kept us stockpiled and refilled. The crew made sure things were never amiss. Some tips for first-timers: -The AYCE pricing is applied to the whole table, so you have to make a group decision if you want to do bbq or hotpot or both ($5 add on). -Holidays and weekends are priced for Dinner all day. -They don't take reservations, so there may be a wait (especially if you have a large group). -It is booth seating throughout, with a max of 6 people per booth. -You have a 2 hour time limit (which seems like a lot, but you do have to wait for meat to cook on the grill). I had a bad experience 2x and stopped coming. Today, I ordered 3 pounds of crawfish...mild, house flavor. The temp and the flavor was on point. No denying the flavor. A lot of my crawfish had no tails. At least a 1/2 pound or a little more. The crawfish was overcooked a decent hard to peel. It is a 2pound minimum, which is fine. I asked for 2 pounds of the house special and 1 pound of Thai basil. I was told I had to get another pound of the Thai basil or the 3 pounds would have to be one flavor. Nowhere stated that. I feel like my waitress was just trying to get me another pound. Then, they only checked on me 1x. I got quickly reminded why I stopped coming.

Service was spot on, quick, and we got our food in what felt like maybe a few minutes. We started off with pork dumplings for the kiddo, which he INHALED in moments. For entrees, we split the orange chicken and the Spicy/Numbing Pot. The orange chicken was spot on. The sauce was sweet but not painfully sweet or thick/clumpy. Really nice orange flavor and tender chicken. So much fun eating it since it is gluten free! Our kiddo also devoured this dish! Mild - not spicy at all! The Spicy Numbing Pot, while a little oily/greasy on the bottom, was still delicious! I appreciated that it wasn't knock your socks off spicy - it had a solid kick, and so flavorful. I love eating dishes with Sichuan Pepper; it has a lot of flavor, and the tingling is so much fun. This dish was perfect with some rice, and it wasn't too heavy for the middle of the day. The prices were really reasonable, and there was enough food for leftovers which we ate later that night. Our only regret is not getting the duck appetizer, but we will be sure to get it next time. We can't wait to go back, and Tiger Noodle will happily be in regular rotation for our family! You can't go wrong!
