I had my nose pierced at Sol Tribe in Oct. 23'. I dealt with the typical piercing "bump" but it had healed completely within a couple months. Before I had reached 9-months (the recommended time before swapping from a stud a piercing) Sol-Tribe had unfortunately closed up shop, so I went to Mantra to make the switch. The staff were friendly- a little stand off-ish at first but it was a Friday afternoon. I picked out a ring from the box they recommended and sat down to have it put in. After about 5-minutes of poking and pulling it was in Since then- my piercing bump has returned and become more ugly than I could ever have imagined, it has bled on several occasions and twice developed pockets of puss. Since having the piercing swapped at mantra I've had multiple people tell me they likely gave me too thick a ring. Fantastic. So now I'm stuck, I don't want to pull it out because I do like how it looks (minus the bump of course) but I'm also afraid to go out and have people look at this ugly welt right in the middle of my face. This could have been avoided- my piercing had healed, my bump was gone, but the neglect at Mantra has set me back further than ever. read more
