MO CITY MAC BOWL HITS!!!…read more We are regulars here specifically for the Mo'City Bowl with Oyster Mushrooms ONLY. We've tried it Hotlanta style twice and this is our first time getting it Buffalo. It's executed well every time. I will say the prices are higher than expected for a food truck and for the portions. We've got the Magic City Chikn Sandwich with Oyster Mushrooms and the HAV Classic Chicken Sandwich, they only put 1 slim piece of the mushroom on it, both times. Mind you, that meal is damn near $22 with the upgrade. It is good but for the prices, they should offer the soy free options for free. The ambiance is cool. The truck is located in a cute little parking lot. The service is cool, we never really had any issues or instances where we had to encounter them. The last two times we ordered were via online. My rating.... The Mo'City Mac Bowl is the best on the menu and consistent. I HIGHLH RECOMMEND it.

My family and I had heard about this place before in passing but we finally decided to give them a…read moretry. First off, this is NOT a restaurant. It's a one-man show. You order online hosted by hot plate and pick up at your scheduled time/date at their house. I ordered it but someone else picked up around 2 hours later. You get an automated text when it's ready and you text when you're there. For special requests, you can call/text the number as well; he was pretty helpful and responsive and mentioned to my brother in law that he personally made sure everything had no alliums at pick up. As a note: my family consists of allium-free vegetarians (with one vegan) so we asked ahead of time what our options were before we went for it. He (I really should have gotten his name) gave us a list of rolls that could be made allium free and we chose from them so you could say they do have an allium free menu upon request. We pretty much got almost everything on his list. For 5 adults, we ordered a total of 10 rolls: LOW-KEY LOKI (2) CLASSIC SPICY TUNAH (2) NIKCO ROCK N ROLL SPICY MAMI, HOT TAMALE SPICY DRAGON FIRECRACKER (2) When we opened the boxes, it turns out that he included an extra roll of SPICY MAMI, HOT TAMALE as well as a small container of seaweed salad which I thought was really nice of him! Or maybe we spent too much or there's some buy 10 rolls get 1 free promotion I was unaware of, haha. It was an unexpected surprise. I also have 2 kids but one has multiple food allergies and the other one is picky. She wanted a sweet potato roll, but it's not on the menu so we rolled up some seaweed rice rolls for them ahead of time so they weren't left out. I didn't bring up my kids because we wanted to ease in with the allium free request and go from there. Plus, one of the food allergens is avocado and that was found in almost every roll. On that note, there's an option to make it gluten-free on each item's page, which is pretty awesome. There's also an option to use soy paper instead of seaweed and to add extra ingredients at additional cost. My family shared everything so my plate was a mix and I honestly lost track of what I was eating at the time for personal notes. But honestly? Everything was delicious. Sushi was the last thing I gave up before becoming vegetarian and I'm picky with the sushi I eat now. These are very good and I must say if I lived in Houston, I'd order again. I do wish there was a place to sit or picnic nearby, but this worked as well. (We all congregated at a house.) There was one roll that definitely had a kick to it. Oddly enough, SPICY MAMI was not it. My nose tends to run with spicy food and I didn't get to that point but it was close after that one spicy piece. Overall, a great experience. Our rolls were $8 to $17 each, 8 pieces per roll. It was around $27.20 per person before tips and tax/fees from hot plate ($7.35). They were nicely packed complete with edible orchid flowers, and personal cups of ginger and wasabi as well as chopsticks and soy sauce packets. We finished everything. This certainly wasn't cheap but when is sushi affordable enough to be a daily thing? I do wish there weren't service fees added on top, but I guess the platform needs support too. Delicious and something to try whether or not you're vegan. I hope to order again our next time in town. Many thanks to the chef for the excellent experience and his help!

They had the same menu items and I noticed the prices increased since I last been. The cashier was a bit timid, he talked so low but he was as helpful as he could be. The ambiance is exactly the same. It's intimate and small, cool for a private or solo outing. I would say the music was up a bit louder than expected but it was cool. Now shall we????? The food. Cali ($13) : 4/10 - simply put. No flavor. Fried well though. Not the same. Lil Red BBQ ($12) - 8/10 - The jackfruit could've been seasoned more but the texture was great. My girlfriend liked how soft the bread was also. The BBQ was also good. Notyo Salad ($13) -8.5/10 - This was the most consistent item on the menu. The only thing I can say about it was that it needed more sauce to cover the amount of arugula and micro greens that came on it. But y'all ITS FLAVORFUL. The lime flavor with the avocado. It's MUAAAAHHHHH :* Sweet Potato Fries ($3/each) - 8.5/10 - Fried well. Good portion for price. Left us feeling light. My rating... this is an affordable and great health spot. If you're paying attention they inform people about their needs, ingredients included in the meals, and what the benefits are. If you are new to vegan food this is a great start. This was actually the first vegan restaurant I ever been to. And I enjoy it every time. This time it was less explosive coming back 5 years later.

KORNY VIBES has the CORNY VIBES…read more Shall we???! Ambiance- The place needed an upgrade for sure. It was outdated and felt lackluster. The bathroom area was atrocious and smelled that way too. Service was was A1, the guy taking our order was also cooking so for him to had been busy and taking orders, the smile he gave was reassuring he could handle himself. He also made sure he gave me the biggest piece of cake Shoutout to him for that!!!! Now what y'all are really waiting for.... The food review. We ordered: Shroom Tacos (3) - 8.5/10 because they skimpy. It came with chopped white onions and limes on the side. The problem was there was an upcharge for oyster mushrooms but wasn't filled up with the mushrooms. I shouldn't bite into a taco and end up with just tortilla. And the limes were dry. However, the flavor of the tacos were A1. Chicken Chikn Alfredo sub Oyster Mushrooms- 7.5/10 because NO EXPLOSION OF FLAVOR. It was INSIPID. However, the noodles were cooked well, sauce was saucin' and they didn't skimp on the mushrooms in this dish. BUT they could've gave more pasta as a whole, it really wasn't much in there. Philly Steak Sub sub Oyster Mushrooms with KORNY SAUCE- 7/10. It lacked flavor AND there was barely enough mushrooms for how big the sandwich bread was. There was plenty onions and peppers which were cooked well but that's not what we were looking forward to. In addition, we couldn't even tell whether there was KORNY sauce added to it or not. Cookies and Cream Milkshake- 7/10. It was pretty good. Nothing special. Had a good consistency and flavor. German Chocolate Cake- 5.5/10. The cake itself was cooked well and really good. The icing which was coconut and something else wasn't very appetizing or appealing nor was it sweet. It was cold but we prefer our cakes room temperature. Overall, we would go back for the shroom tacos and probably try something else. They did have a very extensive menu. So I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others to try for themselves.

I'm visiting from Florida on a work trip, so I'll keep it brief. The interior could use some updated furniture, but honestly, it didn't take away from the experience. The AC worked well, and it was comfortable inside. The concrete floors might come across as "unfinished" or even dirty at first glance, but it felt more like part of the place's hip, industrial vibe. It's an older building with plenty of character. The person who took our order was very friendly and offered great recommendations. We tried the steak tacos, okra bites, and taquitos and everything was absolutely delicious. Don't let the negative reviews steer you away. We're glad we gave it a shot, it was definitely worth it!!!!

The tenders where juicy on the inside and nice & crispy on the outside. Dipped them & the Buffalo and special sauces and it couldn't get any better. Even without sauce the tenders were seasoned to perfection. The vegan mac n cheese was also SO good. Tasted very cheesy & creamy. The dirty rice was the perfect texture and seasoned just right with all the right herbs and spices. I can't decide if l liked the Mac n cheese or dirty rice better. The greens were also quite good, with a good balance of sugar, salt & vinegar. Had the hibiscus limeade to wash it all down which was very thirst quenching with just the right amount of sweetness. My friend had the fish (oyster mushroom), Mac n cheese and French toast and loved her food as well. The service was great bc the young lady who helped us was super friendly and took her time to answer any and all questions we had and to make great recommendations. I also found out from her that the Jank sauce owner lives in my hometown. Looking forward to purchasing the sauce so I can try it out the next time I visit my local HEB. Crumbville is such a unique bakery and record shop with a beautiful atmosphere and positive vibe…read more It has an old school Third Ward feel, but also reflects a contemporary mindset. I read somewhere that the bakery is set to close soon and wanted to share a few thoughts regarding how important this bakery is, not only to my original childhood neighborhood, but the city itself. What I love: how the building looks on the outside and inside; the owner is very kind, friendly and eager to converse with visitors; and the idea that you can purchase an album by The Jungle Brothers, David Axelrod, Andre 3000, De La Soul or D'Angelo along with sweet treats from the bakery is just so cool. As a cratedigger who loves buying records, this is just so impressive to me. The great artwork hanging on the walls is another plus. A family member bought a delicious strawberry cake for my birthday a few years back, and that was my first introduction to Crumbville. The owner's decision to offer vegan and gluten free desserts was a smart decision, but she also offers regular baked goods. During my first visit recently, I purchased a strawberry cupcake, which had a lime-flavored cookie base. It was sublime and reminded me so much of the birthday cake from years ago. Service was great here. Overall, I just love this place. It makes me smile, and I will be very sad to see it go.

I explained that my friends are now vegan and that I had been scouring the city. She was so friendly and charming and I really wanted to love her and the output of her services/goods. But I don't. In fact, I'm severely disappointed. I told her I had a lunch at noon and needed the cake by 11:15 bc I have a lunch at noon on the other side of town(their website says they open at 11). She asked me to come closer to 11:30 which I came at exactly 11:30 and the cake wasn't even there! Her son was there and he was sooo incredibly nice! Gave me some vegan samples and I ended up getting the vegan chocolate chip cookies and the vegan Netflix & chill. It was alright but the chocolate chip was where it's at. They each were $5.50.
