I am very sad to have to give this establishment a one star, because up until about a year ago, they were THE place to get your computer work done in the local area. I have been a loyal customer for them since they opened in 2012, and they were awesome... completely professional, stood behind their work, and when they said it would be done by a certain date, by God they were done by that date. But in the past year or so, I've had them work on my computer three times, and all three times I've had fairly large problems with their work. The first time, I needed my Steam account fixed, and after doing God knows what with my computer for a full month, they ended up completely formatting all of my hard drives and starting from scratch because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. But they didn't put anything back as it was, so I had to spend several hours reinstalling and putting everything back the way it was. As well, for some reason, they also undid the overclocking and other special changes needed for my computer. It fixed the problem, but... a full month, and they gave me back a blank computer. Gee... thanks. I could have formatted my hard drives myself, if that was all you were going to do, why did I pay you a couple hundred bucks to type "Format C:"? I wanted it fixed, not delete the entire damn thing! The second time, I asked them to physically clean my computer inside and out, fix some audio issues I was having with the new gear I'd purchased, and give me some estimates on some graphic card upgrades. They didn't clean the computer (I had to wait another hour after they called me to pick it up for them to clean it), the audio issues weren't fixed (I ended up having to hire someone else to do it), and apparently their idea of "estimates" was "Ummm... I don't know, what did you want to buy?" Great customer service there, eh? Now, finally, I just picked up my computer from them for the last time, and this is the final straw. I had to go out of state to Illinois for five days, so I gave my computer to them to overclock and speed up, do whatever they could to make it as efficient and fast as possible, fix an intermittent problem I was having where the computer would pause and freeze up for about 30 seconds or so before fixing itself, and physically clean it. They had five days to do it... I was assured it would take no more than two, so it would be ready when I got back. Well... First of all, they said they couldn't work on my computer while was in Illinois, because I had to bring in the computer's power cord. I've never had to bring in my power cords in the entire time I've been with Manteca Computer Services... in fact, the previous owner specifically requested we didn't. So according to them, they couldn't work on it until I brought in my power cord. What kind of computer shop doesn't have power cords? I've never even heard of that with any computer shop ever... it's the most basic thing to have! So the first five days... worthless. Well, still... they could clean it, right? Nope. I brought them the power cord when I got back from Illinois, and for the next week they had my computer. Never mind that they said it would take two days, they had it for a week. I picked up the computer... it was dirty. I asked if they had cleaned it, and the technician looked at me as if it was the first he'd heard of it. He checked the tag... sure enough, he was supposed to clean it. Well, I didn't have time to wait around for an hour, so I took the computer anyway. He said he couldn't fix the intermittent problem, but he'd overclocked the computer. I got back home, set it all back up, and checked to see if it had been overclocked (I know how to check it, I just don't know how to do it). It hadn't been touched. As well, my first hard drive had originally be partitioned into a C: and D: drive... for some reason, they had deleted the D: drive. Why? There was no reason whatsoever to even touch it, why was it gone? I fired up some programs, including some very graphic-heavy ones... zero difference in how it performed before. So what the hell did they do to my computer during the two weeks they had my computer, other than delete my D: drive which I didn't want them to do? So I take the computer back in, the owner tells me I'm at the front of the line, and they'll fix it immediately. Total lie. I called them two days later for an update, and they hadn't even looked at it yet. The technician had to ask me what was wrong with it... AGAIN! I took the computer back (by this point, I'm done with them), and at least this time it was clean. No overclocking, error still happening, D: drive still deleted. I basically paid them to break my computer. You used to be the best, MCS... get your shit together! read more

I visited to see about having previously-purchased RAM and an M.2 SSD installed into my laptop computer. Since the name includes "Computer Services", I was surprised to learn that the computer person wasn't there when I visited, and that I would have to return. What's more--it looked like a pawn shop, rather than a computer repair shop. I was treated well, but the experience gave me an uncomfortable feeling about how work would probably be done. read more

I forgot to add that after not being able to get my computer FOR 2 WEEKS to have the cover changed and upgrade memory (which ended up never happening) the lights don't work on my computer anymore so I paid $120 for them to swap a cover, hold my computer for 2 weeks and it hasn't worked the same since. Still waiting for my refund on the memory I never got........REALLY FRUSTRATED with the poor service and ZERO communication. The kid Brian that works inside is real sweet though, I feel bad for him. These people aren't doing ANYTHING with the malfunctioning computer I gave them 3 months ago as of this review, every time I take a visit it's the same thing, they tell me nothing new, and they say they'll call me but never do, and I once again find myself going back for an update, just to have exactly what I described happen again, and again, and again. They just simply can't tell me what's wrong with it because none of the employees are qualified with their job. I have already payed them around 200$ for a replacement motherboard, because they said the motherboard was the problem. The motherboard did not deliver for 2 months. When it finally came in, they said they replaced the old motherboard with the new one and it had the same problem with installing and booting windows. I can't even really confirm if they actually even replaced the motherboard How have they STILL not found the problem 2 months after that? I feel like I've WASTED 200$ by taking my computer to these people. They have ZERO communication with you, because they never call when they say they will. They can't even send you a TEXT. And when they don't, you will always find yourself going back and being thrown into the same indefinite loop. It's simply ridiculous that these workers even make money. It honestly feels like their job is to just WASTE your money and time. These people CANNOT and they WILL NOT fix your computer. Please save yourself 3 months and just take it to somewhere in a different town/city that's nearby. This review will not be deleted until these people give my computer back fixed and working properly, and unfortunately I highly doubt this review will be deleted anytime soon. DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER HERE!!! Maybe they are better with phones but I doubt it. No one answers the phone, mailbox stays full. They have a note that stays on the door saying someone will be back at 330 to call the number ( that no one answers) if you have questions. My computer stayed there for 2 weeks for a cover change. I needed Ubuntu installed on a 7 year old laptop that originally ran Windows 7. I tried to install Ubuntu on my own and something went wrong and I couldn't get Ubuntu running correctly. I went to the store and told them exactly how I wanted Ubuntu to be installed. After I dropped off my laptop, I got a text about 5 days later saying it was ready. I wasn't in a hurry so I was okay with however long it was going to take for them to figure it out for me. I've been using my laptop for only 2 days but I am very pleased with how my laptop is performing. My laptop has been extremely sluggish on a Windows operating system lately, and now my laptop feels very responsive and usable again with this new Ubuntu system. I said ok and left the iPad. The iPad was fully functional. It just needs a new screen because it was cracked. A week later, the worker that I gave the iPad to told me that the iPad is damage and I need a new one! The worker even told me that I gave it to them that way. If so, why quote me for $90 only? The owner contacted me and made sure he takes care of the iPad. Another employee there even offered to pay for the iPad himself if they couldn't fix the iPad anymore. I got a call the other night from my granddaughter crying the her screen on her iPad was cracked. I told her not to worry as I know a tremendous place to take it to get the screen replaced. Of course I am talking about Manteca Computer Services & Cell Phone Repair. I took it in at 10:00 in the morning and within 24 hours I received a call from them informing me that the iPad screen was replaced. I have had other computer repairs done at this store and each time the service and repair were excellent. My granddaughter is happy and she thinks grandpa can get anything done. Brought an iPad in for screen repair and was told it would be done the next day. Five days later it still wasn't done. They never called or updated me on the status. Every time I called, I was told the owner of the business had the parts that were needed and they couldn't get ahold of him. Finally went to pick it up to take it someplace else and I was told that they finally got the parts but no technician was there to work on it. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! Firstly they quoted me one price on the phone then tried to quote me a price that was $50 more when I was in the store. That should have been my red flag. I brought my laptop in to get some work done and was told it would be finished in 2 days "the latest". I heard nothing from them by day 3 so I went in to check on the progress. When I got there there were two employees just kind of sitting around and I was told that the ONE "computer guy" was not in and neither of the two working at the time "know anything about computers" so I couldn't be updated on the progress. I was then PROMISED that it would "for sure" be done the next day "100%" he said. It was now day 5 and I STILL hadn't heard anything from them, so here I go, back to the store to check on progress. I spoke to the same guy I had been dealing with and he had some excuse about how the technician didn't put the paperwork in the right place and THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED WORK ON MY LAPTOP YET!!!!! He then scrambled and asked me for "just one hour" and he would have it fixed. This was the same guy that 2 days prior told me that he "doesn't know anything about computers", so how in the world was he going to be able to fix it now?! I ended up just taking my laptop back and used another place to repair it. They were able to get it done same day! This place is an absolute waste of your time! No communication, they feel ZERO need to adhere to their own deadlines and I wish I could comment on the quality of their work, but they did absolutely NOTHING for me. Avoid this business. Took I phone in for a battery replacement. They broke the replacement battery first, broke the original battery as well. After waiting for them to get another battery phone was fixed.... after 4 hours phone shit off and failed to work. Took phone to Apple today and they stated the business damaged the mother board and other components beyond repair. We got our money back for their failed fix. Bought a PC off eBay, and Microsoft was not working properly. They reinstalled windows 10 for me, and set it up perfectly.

Get everything in writing first. Mohammed said he was going to call me to give me a quote on my phone. My mistake. I left the phone with him to see how much it will be to fix my i phone four days later I stopped in and there it was my phone looks and works like it did from day one. But the $120.00 bill seem to be much, But now I stopped in five days later my phone is having more issues. Mohammed didn't seem to care. It looked like his nap was more important. Bad experience. Took my working perfectly fine iPhone 6+ in there to get the screen fix, that's all, and I get my phone back and it looks great. Brand new, exactly what I asked for. BUT, I did notice my touch screen would not respond as fast as before, so I thought it's just the protective screen I added to the phone. Days pass by, my phone starts to get worse and worse, and then bam, my phone touch sensitivity doesn't work anymore. Couldn't even type in my passcode, nothing. Went back hoping the guy can fix whatever the problem was with the phone, and when I got my phone back, worked fine. 45 minutes later, again, bam... phone freezes and literally could not even type in one pass code because the sensitivity was not working. I took my IPad Air in due to a cracked screen. I was leaving on a trip, so they did it in a day and a half ($109). Everything seemed to work fine. But when i left on my trip for two weeks the screen started acting up. It was fine before the glass was replaced. It would go back to the home screen at will! I would be reading something and i would hear a click and the screen would go dark then back to the home screen. When i got back in town I called them. They said i needed my receipt and it would be most likely coverd by their warranty. I took it down and was able to show the young man what it was doing. He seemed to be aggravated that i was there. He never even offered to keep it overnight or check it out. He said it was the mother board! Not covered. I left and took it to another repair facility off of North St.. Guess what? They said it was the screen ($80). Most likely caused by poor workmanship when the glass was replaced. Next day i picked it up. Its been 4 days and it works perfectly. I took my daughters iPad to get cracked screen fixed and about 2 weeks later it starts lifting on the corner just enough where an ant went into the screen and got smashed and it was just there in the middle of the screen . So I took it back to show them but I didn't have receipt from the first time they fixed it and they said ok it's fine , we will take cars of it for you . So they removed the screen and took dead ant out and put it back together with no charge even though I didn't have receipt. I was Very pleased and happy that they did that for me. I am happy to say that Manteca Computer Services has resolved all my problems with my laptop. I actually just received a follow up call this morning out of the blue. They asked if everything was OK with my PC and if I had any other issues to bring it on down. A few days back I had brought it back in and they ran a complete system check, stress checks etc to make sure there were no issues. I am very happy to know that I can rely on them if anything were to happen to my laptop again as they have always been there for me before by offering free checks on my system at no costs.
