Service was quick and we got seated fast. I ordered the mango dessert with ice cream, sago, and pomelo, and my friend got the tiramisu. The mango dessert was amazing. Super fresh, sweet mango chunks with that natural tropical flavor, paired with creamy ice cream that melted into everything. The sago added a soft, chewy texture and the pomelo gave little bursts of citrusy bitterness that balanced the sweetness really well. It felt light but still indulgent. The tiramisu was also really good. Soft, creamy layers with a nice coffee flavor that was not too bitter, and just the right amount of sweetness. Very smooth and easy to keep eating. We stayed for a while just chatting and were not rushed out at all, which I really appreciated. Not every café lets you sit and relax like that. It is located down a slightly shady alley, but honestly it is fine, especially when it is still light out and since it is in Chinatown. Just feels a little hidden at first. Always a solid go-to for my family every time we're visiting Philly. Open space with lots of seating on two stories. Service is quick and servers are patient. We're always getting some combination of a couple of classic desserts, a crepe, or pancake. As you'd expect, the desserts with mango are tasty and we're also partial to the ones with durian! Sweet but not too sweet, refreshing, and enough variety to keep things interesting. Toppings also had a great texture. Personal favorites are Snow White juice with durian and black rice, special mango juice sago with pomelo w/ mango ice cream, and mango and black rice. I thought the pancakes were just okay - the crepes for them had an interesting texture to me. Also, the crepes were solid, just not what I'd be coming here for. This is a small dessert shop with mostly mango based items located in a small alley in Chinatown. The ambiance is nice if you want a place to sit and hang out. Depending on the day and time, there can be a wait for a table. They also offer most of their menu items for take-out but it is really slow. We got two drinks for take out and it took 10-15 minutes to get them. We've tried a couple of different things from the menu. We got the mango juice sago and pomelo with mango ice cream. It is a small cup. While it is good, I feel it is pricey for what you get (especially for take-out). We've also tried the mango shave ice but that is for dine in only. It has mango, mochi, ice cream, shaved ice, and topped with the mango juice. This is our favorite item and the only reason why we'd make the trek out to this shop. I was hoping to try the shaved ice, but unfortunately that wasn't available this time. So I settled for the mango crêpe cake and another mango dessert which had vanilla ice cream and coconut. Mango with sago and lychee jelly, and herbal jelly - normally you choose just one of the jellies, but we couldn't decide and ultimately paid for some extra herbal jelly on the side. Mango was very fresh tasting, and the sago and jelly provided some textural variation that was very nice. Mango pannacotta - I'm a sucker for pannacotta and the moment I saw this on the menu I knew I was ordering it. The pannacotta was delightfully light and creamy, the mango was sweet and juicy. Prices were similar to slight less than equivalent desserts in the Cupertino/Sunnyvale/Santa Clara area. Service seemed a little indifferent but that's fine. The decor is pleasant and the dining room is airy and bright. Snyways, though this was a small sampling of their delicacies, it was a very good experience and since I'm going be in Philadelphia quite a bit over the next few years, I'll certainly be back. read more
