    One of the smaller shelters.

I love Mang Park! It's not the biggest park, and it doesn't have an abundance of trails, but it has plenty of local charm! There are a few shelters, and a lot of picnic tables and benches to sit at. There are two playground areas, with swings and slides, and some monkey bars. There are a two pools. There is a nice tennis court, a basketball court, and plenty of grass to play soccer or frisbee. There is a cute little path that you can walk through the park, but the real fun is when you venture out and walk around Kenmore. It's a great little neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet. There is a 711 right behind the park if you need snacks or drinks, and a Rite Aid across the street from that. Definitely a fun place to bring the kids, walk, read, or play!

It's okay though, because he's famous. I love this place, as I love the adjacent Squaw Island Park and Bird Island Pier. A lot of people underrate this place but they shouldn't. It's a lovely spot in Buffalo and unlike any other, especially because the Pier that extends out from here, goes all the way under the PB. I was last here not too long ago, a few months maybe. I always bring out of town tourists here (if they like walking), we wander around Squaw Island, the park, this part of it, and then along the Pier. It's beautiful, the views are spectacular, I recommend it to anyone. It's pretty harrowing in winter, though. In fact, Broderick Park is that amazing park just north of the Peace Bridge. To get to it, you drive all the way to the end of Ferry, across the rusted metal drawbridge, and you're on a little green island, which is also known as Broderick Park. It's a wonderful park with spectacular views of the Peace Bridge (known as the Pizza Bridge to Canadians because it's their most direct link to amazing Pizza... i.e. Buffalo Pizza), and it gives way to Bird Island Pier, where you can flip the bird to Canada-bound trucks and passenger cars and buses, and there's really nothing they can do about it except vow to exact revenge upon their return to the country, which may not even happen given the climate of border crossings into the USA at the moment.

Then my kids played baseball here. For kids today, who don't know what a REAL playground is like, I'm sure this is fine, but it pretty much blows chunks compared to when I was young. This park rocked !!! Now it's mostly just good for baseball games. The benches are all falling apart, The swings are too short, There's not enough to do here these days, but, I Freaking love this park. This was my : childhood playground, teenage party place, A mommy's baseball game place to be, And now, a place to just sit & chill or watch other kids' baseball game. This will always be my home away from home. The concession stand had a big variety of candy, chips, drinks, Freezie pops, donuts, nachos, hot dogs, burgers, sausage, etc... on the grill & sometimes pizza .

They took out lots of the trees, which is too bad from a shade flavors, but I think the trees were unhealthy, so probably needed. The little league baseball is back, and there weren't as many masks or as much social distancing as I would have preferred. But hopefully everyone is vaccinated. Update 122 2021
