This is a really great park. It includes Charlie's Boat Yard restaurants, the Safe Harbor Marina, Gallagher Pier, the jet ski launches, a playground, and some picnic shelters. There are walkways to walk, run, bike, or rollerblade on. There are great views of the water. There is plenty of parking in the boatyard or on Fuhrmann Boulevard. There is a playground here and some picnic shelters too. There are new benches (and plenty of rocks) to sit on. We're still dealing with COVID-19 so there was some signage suggesting that people social distance. There were many runners, walkers, and cyclists but not too many. It wasn't hard to keep my distance while walking. The sky was beautiful and so was the weather. I feel like it lifted spirits.

Found a hidden gem! I'm so glad we accidentally found this park. It's right next to the waters, has a great walkway, and fun playground (if you have kids). The water is surprisingly really clear here too. A nice place to come for a walk or run. :)

Buffalo Harbor State Park is a larger park than you may imagine, as I think most people assume it's just the children's playground. Yet it encompasses the entire area, including Charlie's Boat House and the Safe Harbor Marina, as well as the jetski and kayak launches. It's a park that is still under development, as evidenced by the current state as of this review: The bike path along the waterfront is mostly open, but it ends right around the end of the playground area. There's a lot of construction going on, so facilities and parking are somewhat limited. It is a great park though, and they're trying to integrate their vision into the whole region of the Outer Harbor, especially because they adjoin not only Tifft, but Gallagher Pier, the Ship Canal Park, and many other areas and activities. The Fuhrmann Bike Path, part of the Shoreline Trail, connects the park to the other areas, and it's well signed throughout. There's a lot of stuff to do in this park, from taking your kids to the playground or one of the movie nights, to taking a kayak or jetski out, to finding a slip for your boat.

There's a bike and walking path here and a playground for kids..there's also a bathroom close to the playground. There's definitely some construction going on here that takes away from the beauty.

I visited the Buffalo Harbor State Park earlier today it was my first time there. I wasn't sure what to expect since the park is fairly new, but from the looks of it people really take advantage of the nice park. The playground was busy with children playing , as was the few jet skis out on the water on this nice spring day. Will definitely be going back. Great sight lines and views for sure!

Nice play area for 5-12 yr olds

After having some ice cream, we went for a quick walk throughout the park. This park really is great. It is a little small but that also makes it so nice. No need for maps or worries of getting lost, it's perfect for a nice walk. My son loves looking for all the wildlife especially if there are any ducks or fish. Luckily for him, there are plenty of ducks around here. Another nice thing about this park is that it is very scenic for photography. There were a few different groups there doing what looked like senior pictures or photos before an event. Whether you're looking for a nice walk, scenic backdrop or just a quiet place to sit on a bench and think, this park has it all.

I am amazed at how restful and beautifully maintained it is. The flowers were welcoming, the small waterfall enchanting, the trails curious and winding, and the wildlife amusing. I felt more relaxed and grounded after my visit than I have in a long time. The only negative was that someone was smoking weed on a park bench and the odor instantly turned me off. I'm sure smoking is not allowed, but I was chagrined that in this little section of The Garden of Eden someone would assume to make the place smell like a stoner's living room.

Interesting facts learned on fireflies: they like leafy dark areas, eat slugs, and snails and really lite up the park. This is such a beautiful park to enjoy a nice walk, jog, a bike ride or to go fishing (no spots to play sports of any kind here). There are a couple small grassy areas you can sit with a blanket and have a small picnic, eat lunch or bring your own lawn chair and enjoy a book. Plenty of benches to sit down, relax and enjoy the view of the water. In addition, the trees provide lots of shaded areas to appreciate as you walk through the paved trail on a hot summer day. Lastly, there are a lot of droppings from the geese (the children were stressing about avoiding it). I didn't see a playground during my walk but there is a very nice playground available for the children in front of the library that is located adjacent to the park entrance - you'll see it. I used my GPS to get here and parked at the courthouse parking lot, there was a path to where the trail starts - in my photos. Bring bug spray and sunblock in the summer and enjoy a stroll after a good meal. Rated this park four stars because I would probably only come back to take a walk if I'm already in the area but there's nothing here you absolutely have to see if you were visiting Buffalo. However, the park is beautiful and serene. If there was more to do or picnic tables for families to sit and eat, I would give it five stars.

The beach is still inaccessible there are giant cement blocks so it's not a straight shot down for a wheelchair and the grass around them is very uneven and hilly like ground for a wheelchair to go over and I got stuck in the rocks and had to ask people to help push me out, then on the way back to the walk way (video I posted) my wheelchair was going to flip. There are small simple things that they could have been done, I've been to other beach's that have strips over the sand/ rocks that wheelchairs can ride over. The building looks nice they added a small golf course. To me it seems like all they did was build the restaurant and build up the rock walls especially around the beach.

A nice wooden bridge, Ellicott creek, a ton of planted trees , the American flag, and several wooden benches fill up this park, which reaches from North Forest to the UB campus. The best part of this walk, though, was when it started raining and we were heading back....... amazingly, a mama and baby deer came really close to the trail, eating grass and looking up at us every once in a while. That made for a great photo opportunity! I'll be back to take a ride on my bike sometime.... P.S. be cautious of your GPS , the address lead me to the golf course, not the park. The parking lot is on North Forest Ave just a bit past Maple .
