This huge park is easily accessible from the UB or Ellicott Creek trail bike paths. Lots of wide open green spaces. No road noise. Just the wind and water. In addition to the bike and walking paths that pass through this park, it gets used for winter sports like snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There's tennis courts, too. No playgrounds that I can tell, but that makes it an ideal place to observe wildlife or have a quiet picnic. I've been in the area so many times without realizing this was here. Lots of benches, some with shade, some without. There's a pond for fishing. Just a lovely jewel in the suburbs near the university. Makes me wish I could have a do-over because my college experience would probably be a lot nicer in a place like this. read more

Although this park is mostly known for its bike trails, I had an enjoyable time walking on the path with a friend a few days ago. A nice wooden bridge, Ellicott creek, a ton of planted trees , the American flag, and several wooden benches fill up this park, which reaches from North Forest to the UB campus. The best part of this walk, though, was when it started raining and we were heading back....... amazingly, a mama and baby deer came really close to the trail, eating grass and looking up at us every once in a while. That made for a great photo opportunity! I'll be back to take a ride on my bike sometime.... P.S. be cautious of your GPS , the address lead me to the golf course, not the park. The lot on North Forest has plenty of parking, restrooms at the beginning of the trail, and tennis courts. The trail is paved and well maintained. Lots of dog walkers, runners, and cyclists. It's very flat, and there are mile markers every 10th of a mile and benches along the way through. There are young trees planted along the route, but there's no shade over the bike path, great for our cold day walk where we wanted sun, but probably wouldn't be pleasant if it's 100 outside. From the start of the trail to the Millersport bridge over Ellicott creek, it's 1.5 mile. read more

Loved riding this trail when I lived in Amherst! Although, I did have a bike collision at one point. Oops! This trail is full of nature, you'll often find egrets and wildlife as you pedal, walk or run your way through Audubon Town Park. It's a serene way to spend some time and I can't wait until I get back there soon. For runners, mileage is marked (or at least it was a few years ago). You can enter the trail through UB's north campus or off from Ellicott Creek Park (right?); definitely a fun and active way to spend some time! read more

Running along North Forest, over Maple, under Millersport Highway, to the University North campus is a large park. Its called the Audubon Park, and has lots of running trails, which are well mapped on line. There's winter sports happening here, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Summertime clearly sees more walkers and runners. Ellicott Creek runs through this park, which has some nicely groomed running trails along the way. The Westwood Country Club backs onto the park, no doubt some nice views there from, some of the golf course areas. This park is a nice park if you are in the area. I'm not sure how well lit it is at night, but in the daytime its well groomed and quite pleasant. There's a Recreation Complex with tennis courts as well. read more

Have you just been released from the police station and still don't want to go home to your loved ones to walk the walk of shame? How about walking the nature path next door instead? There is no map at this entrance, but there are a few directional signs to point out the fishing area and nature trails. Sure, you can stroll the paved paths and still catch a glimpse of the wildlife (deer, and plenty of geese, as a portion does wrap around the lake) but skip sitting on the benches and take an adventure through the woods. Wear your worst shoes, unless you can stand a bit of mud and puddle, and try not to trip over the branches and scattered leaves. There's a few knobby baby trees growing too, and cicadas making sure you won't forget their presence with their constant singing. We did come across a mildly burnt fort in the wild, and broken glass and trash inside. Don't be a dillweed and leave your trash like some scumbag, making me regret sharing the deets on my favorite hiking spot. If you wander long enough, you'll be delighted to find a playground of swings and climbing walls and slides. The ground is coated with recycled tire rubber so you don't run the risk of wood chips to the bottom (which trust me, from experience is not a place you want to get splinters). There's also a tennis court, which is sadly locked, but it is paired with a basketball half court that is free for use. They've painted over most of the graffiti, but that's not to say this place is not a work of art for nature lovers alike. read more

I want to yell at the top of my lungs how awesome this park is, but it's barely Auduble above the traffic on Interstate 990. I like this park a lot, maybe even better than the Audubone (other one). Okay those were bad. It's a lovely, unspoiled and quiet park located in Amherst, close to UB North campus, with a cycle track running through it. It's one of my favourite parks in the city because most people don't know about it. Maybe this review will change that. Walking through this park in Fall was one of my fave memories of living in Amherst. The sounds of the wildlife is clearly Audubon. I mean audible. If you've never been to this park, give it a try on a nice day and see if you like it as much as I do. read more

I haven't really done any of the other biking trails in Buffalo (yet) but I really enjoyed the one that kicks off here at Audubon Town Park. The trail takes you through UB North Campus and toward Ellicott Creek Park, a whopping 6.9 mile trip one way - a ride that's pretty much a breeze, but maybe not on a breezy day. With the wind sweeping across the flat plains, it was really difficult weather to ride in. But my family could handle it, even my kid brother riding an adult tricycle! Through the Town Park area itself, the pathway was pretty busy with walkers/runners, as well as people just sitting on the benches enjoying the park. The utter beauty of this park makes that super easy to do. A lot of the planted trees appeared to have dedication plaques planted at the base. They also have a tennis court by the parking lot. As for the rest of the bike path - gorgeous. I want to bring my camera next time I ride it and take pictures of the trees, flowers, and the creek. I had one of my favorite albums playing on my Bluetooth radio during the ride, and it definitely helped enhance my experience biking through nature. It was borderline magical. The views here are beautiful, and I can't wait to come back and see how it looks during seasonal changes. I'm glad this place is so close by, it'll make it easier to come here and enjoy the trail whenever I want! Day 26 read more

We like this Park. The problem is that everyone likes this park! We are always looking over our shoulders for the bike riders and the power walkers. Have only made it to the 911 memorial. Good size parking lot. Having another access point on North Forest and Stahl road would be ideal. read more

Lovely little walking park with a pond you can fish in . A variety of trails nestled between several houses and a seigniorage center it's surprisingly quiet. We enjoyed the cool of the trees and lake beauty. read more
