Broderick Park

If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, read a book, boat watch or look at a beautiful sunset over looking the peace bridge , this park is the place for you.Bring your pet as it is pet friendly. There are grills and picnic tables so be sure to pack a lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Lots of fishing going on too.And a big lot with free parking.

Half the breakwall is closed for repairs, probably never to reopen, half the park smells like the sewage treatment plant that's adjacent to the property, and the locals don't really care for cleaning up their litter. All that said, Broderick Park is an amazing place for a stroll along the Niagara River and a lovely place to watch the sun set over Fort Erie, on the Ontario bank. Watch traffic bustle along the Peace Bridge on one end or stroll by the quiet of the rail bridge on the other, and you'll see some interesting flora and the odd fox or two at dusk. It's not a perfect place, but it is free and a quiet place for a relaxing stroll just off the bustle of Niagara Street and the West Side.

Fun park to go and have a picnic in, they also have grills available and picnic tables.Nice place to go for a walk with your dog or to just bring a chair and enjoy the views of the water and peace bridge.Lots of people fishing here too, plus plenty of free parking.

This is a great park at the foot of Ferry Street. You can fish here, walk along the Bird Island Pier and learn about history. It's a great place to be and I'll definitely be back!

The view of the river is nice!

We haven't been here in a couple of years! They've done a bit of updating since I saw it last. This park is kind of a hidden gem, and you drive over a bascule bridge to get to the parking lot. (We got to see it raise for a boat during our walk, which was fun!) The river walk path is neat, but often needs repairs. The last time I was at Broderick you couldn't get past the bridge, and I was excited to see that you could go further than that today.. but the path was collapsed even further down and I still couldn't make it all the way to the lake. It does have a beautiful view of the river, quite a few benches and picnic tables, and an up close and personal view of the Peace Bridge. But with the consistently broken path, I can only give it 3 stars. Will probably not visit again for a while.

Don't let the street entering Broderick park fool you, it looks like it has construction but it is only on one side of the street, the sidewalk, and the entire street is not closed. You can drive your vehicle into the island, but as other reviewer have indicated, the bridge is pretty scary to go through, not unsafe, just not as sturdy as other bridges. You can walk all the way out to the water and there are plenty of green spaces. I see people fishing here. Has a potty john on the island.

This is my hideaway. Everyone needs a secret garden or a place that feels like "home". This is definitely my spot. I come here when I'm happy, and I come here when I'm sad. The path on the water is what I love the most about this place...it feels like you are walking on water; The path ahead of you seems endless and you are surrounded by water. I come here with a favourite snack and stare at the water, i come here at night to watch the lights from the bridge, I attempt to get into running by starting here, I come here for deep conversations with friends. This is my favourite thing about buffalo. Being someone without a permanent home it's important for me to find a spot that provides the comfort of home. I'm hesitant to even write about it, because I'm so protective of this place. I hope you enjoy it too :)

Broderick Park aka 'Foot of Ferry' is one of my favorite places in Buffalo. I love to walk along the river on the walkway be it Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. 9 out of 10 times it is quiet, and peaceful. Hence, the Peace Bridge :) Yes, there are rats, it happens when there are pipes along water. Yes, sometimes there are sketchy people, but if it's night time, I always have company to be on the safe side. My only wish is that they would repair the side of the walkway that is past the Peace Bridge, and expand the landscaping and walkway to truly make it a destination. Love this place & love the view.

This is a cool park because it allows you to walk the pier way into the water, crossing under the Peace Bridge from USA-Canada. Gorgeous views and good fishing spots. There are also many water fowl--Canadian Geese, Mallard Ducks, Storks---and they are really fun to watch as well. The only thing that knocks a star from this park is the unavoidable presence of bird crap in every phase of creation and decay. It's throughout the walk but in some sections it's a splatter avalanche that walking through feels much like navigating a mine-field. So--don't wear flip flops or sandals and don't wear anything that drags the ground! Luckily it honestly didn't smell so that helps a lot. Well worth a walk (about 2 miles to the end and back) and some photo opp.

One of my favorite places to take a long walk in Buffalo. A very unique park with a draw bridge for access. Parking can sometimes be scarce.

After having some ice cream, we went for a quick walk throughout the park. This park really is great. It is a little small but that also makes it so nice. No need for maps or worries of getting lost, it's perfect for a nice walk. My son loves looking for all the wildlife especially if there are any ducks or fish. Luckily for him, there are plenty of ducks around here. Another nice thing about this park is that it is very scenic for photography. There were a few different groups there doing what looked like senior pictures or photos before an event. Whether you're looking for a nice walk, scenic backdrop or just a quiet place to sit on a bench and think, this park has it all.

I am amazed at how restful and beautifully maintained it is. The flowers were welcoming, the small waterfall enchanting, the trails curious and winding, and the wildlife amusing. I felt more relaxed and grounded after my visit than I have in a long time. The only negative was that someone was smoking weed on a park bench and the odor instantly turned me off. I'm sure smoking is not allowed, but I was chagrined that in this little section of The Garden of Eden someone would assume to make the place smell like a stoner's living room.

The beach is still inaccessible there are giant cement blocks so it's not a straight shot down for a wheelchair and the grass around them is very uneven and hilly like ground for a wheelchair to go over and I got stuck in the rocks and had to ask people to help push me out, then on the way back to the walk way (video I posted) my wheelchair was going to flip. There are small simple things that they could have been done, I've been to other beach's that have strips over the sand/ rocks that wheelchairs can ride over. The building looks nice they added a small golf course. To me it seems like all they did was build the restaurant and build up the rock walls especially around the beach.

In addition to the bike and walking paths that pass through this park, it gets used for winter sports like snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There's tennis courts, too. Lots of benches, some with shade, some without. There's a pond for fishing. Just a lovely jewel in the suburbs near the university. A nice wooden bridge, Ellicott creek, a ton of planted trees , the American flag, and several wooden benches fill up this park, which reaches from North Forest to the UB campus. The best part of this walk, though, was when it started raining and we were heading back....... amazingly, a mama and baby deer came really close to the trail, eating grass and looking up at us every once in a while. That made for a great photo opportunity! I'll be back to take a ride on my bike sometime.... P.S. be cautious of your GPS , the address lead me to the golf course, not the park.
