Those pictures were my before and after! I went to Alex two times already and he never ever cut my hair this badly. I wanted a change so I told him I wanted a good amount off my hair. I told him about 4 inches. When I got there not only does he always give me attitude every single time I make an appointment and tell him I don't want a blow dry because that's an extra 30 bucks on top of the haircut. He gives me attitude every time I tell him I only want a wash and a cut. Secondly when I went in today it looked like he was in rush. Not only did he not wash my hair he was cutting my hair and made me stand up the whole time. Didn't section my hair, Didn't wash my hair. I was standing up the whole time he was cutting my hair and he didn't even put a cape around me so I had hair all over my cloths. I told him I didn't want layers that I want to get rid of whatever layers I have left which pretty much were all grown out as you can see in the picture. He off the bat said he can't get rid of layers and I showed him the length I wanted but no layers. But for some reason for him that meant cut my hair 5 inches and add more layers to my hair. Alex does what he wants and doesn't listen to his CLIENTS! After he was done cutting my hair my mom looked at my hair in shock because it was uneven. He is very unprofessional and rude. Felt like he did this on purpose and when I went back to get my money he didn't even apologize or want to look at my hair. He was trying to put the blame on my mom saying that the reason I don't like my haircut was because of her when in reality ANYONE with eyeballs can SEE how bad of a job he did. If he didn't want to cut my hair all he had to do was say that INSTEAD OF messing up my hair.. Now I need to go somewhere else to get it fixed and cut it even shorter. IF YOU HAVE LONG HAIR AND WANT TO CUT IT shorter don't go to ALEX PLEASE! Alex is the owner he should be more nicer to his clients and take more time with them. Went here for the 1st time today after my favorite salon closed, & I was so nervous.. But let me just say it's the best thing that could've ever happened or I would've never ran into this place. The staff is so warm & welcoming they made me feel like if they've known me all my life, they offered me wine, coffee, water ect & were so attentive, something I had never experienced before in a salon. I had very long hair & wanted a short shoulder cut & **Maggy** did the most amazing job, as nervous as I was, they all kept me entertained (such a wonderful enviornment to be in, I almost didn't wanna leave) she asked me various question about the cut I wanted & did it accordingly to my face & frame. Prices were affordable, $50 for a (big time) cut & blow dry, which she styled differently due to request. I am so amazed by this place over all, needless to say I will be returning!!! Last time I cut my hair I think..... was 2011. I had a sudden impulse to cut my security blanket but had no idea where to go! I use to work on the third floor of the building so I always passed by Mane Changes. Impulse turned into action and I ended up there! Everyone is super friendly and amazingly funny! Despite not setting foot in a Salon for six-ever; I can honestly say I felt welcomed from the get go. They make sure to go out of their way to take you through every step and to make sure you're relaxed and comfortable and at ease. They could tell I was anxious but they actually took my words into account and did a consult before we even washed. Ashley is absolutely a sweetheart and I can tell she has you in mind; not her needing to get home. In 2011, I just cut my hair half an inch and I cried. I was very scared to go to a salon. My niece usually cuts and styles my hair. She moved and I have went a few times to supercuts and hair cuttery but I wanted a salon like my nieces. The staff I met were so friendly at Mane Changes. They did not try to take advantage of me. They actually told me my hair color, body, and natural waves and curl were fine and very pretty. They told me I should not dye my hair because I have nice natural highlights. They said I could add a few more if I wanted to later on. They said I just needed a agave smoothing treatment to control my frizz and nice cut so I would stop wearing a ponytail to hide my lions mane.. Martino gave me my treatment and cut my hair. He took his time to make sure it looked great. He was very nice and I will definately be back and I highly recommend this salon. Ive never been the type of girl to go get her hair done in a salon but when I had an at home hair disaster with blonde box dye I had no other option... I had managed to turn my hair a very bright yellow! My hair was the color of a lemon and I was so embarrassed I couldnt leave my house! I called many salons in my area and wasnt satisfied with any answers I was getting.. Finally, I found Mane Changes and they were very nice and told me to just come on in and they would take care of me, no problem.. I AM IN LOVE WITH MANE CHAGES SALON!!!!! From the moment that I entered I felt like I was in the best hands possible. The vibe upon arrival is euphoric, I was greeted by a super nice gentleman, Alex who introduced himself, and offered refreshments on the way in. The wait time was no longer than five minutes, and right away I was taken directly to John's chair. Talk about punctuality! My mother in law and I had entered for a retouch and highlights, and what we left with was literally runway hair!!! Upon arrival, I had no idea what I was going to do to my hair, but when John spoke with me about my hair color, I felt relief and I let him take over. I've been wanting to do something different with my hair for a while now but couldn't figure out what to do. After speaking with John, the owner, we decided to try out a sombre. First he gave me a healthy trim because I have a phobia of having my hair chopped off. I could immediately feel a difference. He laid the color and then it was time to relax. I was served a glass of my favorite Sauvignon blanc wine. And he asked me what I was up to for the summer. I told him about a concert I was going to go to next month and two seconds later we were jamming out to Sam Hunt. Before I knew it I was getting a massage hair wash and then off to get a blow out. I've had long hair my entire life, always got great compliments but was ready for a change. I set an appointment with Alex but was very nervous about getting my hair "chopped off" by a stylist I had never worked with. Alex, Mimi and everyone else at Mane Changes made me feel at ease as soon as I walked in. They are friendly, funny, easy-going and all very professional. Better yet, as soon as Alex skillfully started to cut my hair my nerves went away. He gave me an awesome cut and even threw in a couple of highlights to give it a little extra punch. Okay where do I begin? My whole experience here was awesome. First off, let me start by stating that I came in with about 5 different shades of brown in my head(home box dye experiment gone wrong). It was a complete wreck and I was having a meltdown because I needed to be at a dinner party in the next few hours. I walked in with no appointment and John greeted me at the door. Today was my first time going to thus salon after having gone to several overpriced salons with subpar service and results. I've had a hard time finding someone who is the complete package, great color,cut, blowout and reasonable prices. I finally found that with Mane Changes. It's a great and friendly environment with stylists who clearly love what they do. My hair was dry and the color was looking rather dull. Maggie did a great job of bringing my hair back to life. I looked up hair salons in my area last night. I read the reviews for Mane Changes and wrote down the contact info. I was petrified because last year at this time I had no hair, brows or lashes due to chemotherapy. I haven't let anyone touch it since it began growing back and kept trimming it myself. This is a great salon with professional stylists and a relaxing atmosphere.. I have been going to Alex for years and have never left without being totally satisfied with my color and cut. The salon is clean and at a great location. I have to say one of the best things about Alex is that he is always available. He will come in early or stay late to make sure he can fit you in! I have found it so hard to find a great stylist in Miami that understands my hair, and then I found Alex!! I went from a messy mom bob to a short and sexy pixie that I love! The entire staff was so friendly and very accommodating of my 5 month old tag along, and made me feel very welcome. I had not had a hair cut in over a year and saw the reviews for Mane Changes and decided to try just a cut. I went to Martino who spent a good 10 minutes just talking to me about my ideas and sharing his ideas. My hair was about 5 inches past my shoulders and I wanted a long short hair cut. I now have the perfect cut. I waited to write this to see how my hair would fall into place after I dried it. Again, it was perfect, not a hair out of place.
