Mandro is on my list of top 3 boba spots in Davis and it's my most visited. Their milk tea and boba have the best flavor and the prices are good. I also love their lychee green tea. Just don't get their potted plant drink. They also have bingsoo and sago for desserts! The only thing I don't like is that they don't have real food or snacks here. The interior is filled with IKEA furniture and is kept clean. Usually gets packed here but it's a cool place to hangout for a bit. Location is great because there's always parking! read more

Also, there is internet there to use while waiting for your order. 7/10 I got the Matcha Tea Latte and the Original Red Bean Milk Bingsoo. The Matcha Latte is pretty much iced matcha with milk. It was nice and cold on a hot day and thankfully not very sweet. It also had a strong matcha flavor and not those light or watered down ones. The Original Red Bean Milk Bingsoo was nice and cold and not too sweet. The red bean was a nice touch to add a little sweet flavor but not too sweet. Also, it was nice and smooth and tasted really good with the cream that you pour on top. The picture I have is of it to go so I can't say much for the to go presentation, but I heard that it looks really nice when you have it there. 9/1 I went here again and ordered a Taro Milk Tea and a Matcha and Red Bean Smoothie. The Taro Milk tea had a nice taro flavor that was not too sweet. The Matcha and Red Bean smoothie had red bean on top and bottom so you could get it throughout your smoothie. One of the best tea shops in Davis. It was the best when I was still in Davis, but other tea shops have opened since I left. I've tried many of the drinks on their menu and all have been fresh and delicious. I usually go for the Hokkaido when I want milk tea. As usual, I prefer the fruit teas and those are well done here. I've actually tried everything on the fruit tea menu and they're all great, very fruity. The tea is not very strong, though. My go to drinks for Mandro, though, would be the smoothies. Specifically the mango or passion fruit smoothie. I usually get aloe topping for these two smoothies. My favorite is the passionfruit. They use real passionfruit, so you actually taste the fruit. There are even seeds of the fruit floating in your drink. I've tried the mango bingsoo and it's pretty good. Make sure to get the regular size for a party of two. I made a mistake and got the large one. The servings are huge. read more

Mandro is probably my favorite tea place in Davis. I could also be biased because I live down the street... But nonetheless, I've had their Hokkaido milk tea which comes with boba and egg pudding. On the eve before Monday, we made our way home from Tahoe. Being on the verge of dehydration, we made our way in to MandRo. I tried the Hawaii Fruit "Premium" Tea and the Super Fruit "Premium" Tea. I have no idea what they mean by premium - the tea wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it's premium. Of the two I think the Hawaii Fruit tea was better. My Super Fruit tea was very orangey. Whereas the Hawaii Fruit tea had a more tropical fruity and sweet flavor but it could just be the Placebo effect because of its name. read more

Took me a long time to finally check out this place but it was worth all the hype! Surprisingly, there isn't a sign in front of the store so it is easy to overlook if you don't know about it. We went after dinner on a weekday and there was a pretty long line inside. However, the line moved quickly. The store isn't small but the tables are pretty small. We had to piece together two tables to seat our group of four. The seats are cushioned and super comfy! There is a couch in the corner and a bookshelf full of boardgames. [ Mango Bingsoo ] Three of us split a large bingsoo. In retrospect, we should've stuck with the smaller size since we were all pretty full from dinner. The mangos were extremely sweet and covered the top portion of the bingsoo. The shaved ice itself had a nice, smooth consistency. We followed the instructions on the placemat that taught customers how to pour the tiny cup of evaporated milk onto the bingsoo. You pretty much have to eat until there is a nice indentation at the top of the bingsoo pile and pour the milk into the indentation. read more

The bingsoo here is absolutely amazing! This is also the only place I've found that serves bingsoo in all of Davis and Sacramento. I've tried the Mango and the strawberry flavors, and I personally prefer strawberry--especially since it comes with the rice cake (yum!). Their drinks are comparable to any other boba place: pretty expensive, and pretty sweet. I ordered the peach green tea 50% sweet, and it was still relatively sweet, but at the perfect amount with a slight bitterness. This seems like a great place to study and hang out. It was very quiet when I went; it seems like they were having issues with their sound system. The games here are pretty disorganized, and there are playing cards scattered around everywhere. This was GUUUUUD. I tried the mango bangzoo for the first time and wow. It was so subtly sweet yet rich and creamy. Went to this place yesterday as I was craving Bingsu. And since I couldn't go to San Francisco, I heard this place was good so I gave it a try. I ordered the mango bingsu. Maybe I was just so used to having my order automatically have a side of sticky rice, mango purée, actual condensed milk and toasted nuts, so for me this was a so so, I was given a cross between condensed and evaporated milk, not too thick not too liquidy(diluted maybe?) ‍but I would give 5 stars to their shaved ice. For their drinks the tea flavor is pretty good and they don't overpower it with milk. 4. The inside is really big and during covid times is probably a great place to hang out. This would be the biggest draw for me to come here over anywhere else. We recently visited the Sistine Chapel exhibition in Davis and decided to have dinner also. After dinner, my daughter mentioned Mandro Teahouse because she had watched a video review of it and it was recommended. This is a small shopping center that looks like it caters to the apartments across the street and to the residential neighborhood also. There is no sign above the doors and we actually drove past it! Once inside, the atmosphere is relaxed and they have an extensive menu. We settled on the mango bingsu. I had never heard of this dessert before but it looked good. Sweet mango on top of snow ice. The ice has condensed milk on it and it gives it a ice cream like texture. If you have ever been to Vampire Penguin or spots like that then you know what I mean. This was a great dessert as was the strawberry bingsu she had! When in Davis, I'll definitely make the trip to come back here. read more

Probably the best boba in town (when is teaspoon opening lol) Probably the best thing about living in the Grove and surrounding apartments is Mandro. I mean boba makes everything in life like 40% better. They have a variety of unique teas and Combos to choose from. What I like about Mandro is that their drinks are often unique and contain real fruit. Their orange contains real orange slices, taro has real taro, and mango has real mango! This makes me feel less guilty about the amount of simple carbs I am About to consume lol. They also have taro ball and bingsoo options so you can make the meal a special one if you bring a friend. However, if you are like me and have no friends, no one will judge you for eating an entire bingsoo to yourself #foreveralone. However, it is well advised that you share one of these bad boys because even the regular size is quite large and sweet. All in all a solid establishment. The even have a punch card system! At long last, my preconceived notions about NorCal boba have been broken! Having been to most of the boba joints in and around Davis, I was starting to lose hope that I'd be able to find good boba while I was away at school. Most tea places were pretty... lackluster, to say the least, with most milk tea being either too powdered or too watery. However, a few days ago, my friend recommended MandRo, and it stood out from all the rest! Although it's relatively out of the way for most of Davis, if you're looking to get that boba fix, it's definitely worth going here. As it was my first time here, I asked for a recommendation, to which I was told the Hokkaido Milk Tea was a popular drink. With low expectations and nothing left to lose, I ordered it without hesitation. In no time we had our drinks and made our way out. The Hokkaido Milk Tea was pretty good. For the first time in one and a half years, I had hope. I had faith that there were people in Northern California who actually knew how to make some decent milk tea. MandRo didn't put that much ice, and that is a great thing; there are too many places that skimp out on the amount of drinkable liquid they give you by filling your cup with a bunch of ice. And as a fan of sweet drinks, this really hit the spot. I will say, though, that the actual boba (or pearls or whatever y'all call them) is pretty meh, but that's just a matter of personal preference. Because it's pretty far, it might not be the most accessible or convenient place to study, but it's a great place to hit up after dinner or to catch up with friends. And you shouldn't worry about being able to find a seat; there's a good amount of seating to accommodate various sizes of groups. Finally, a boba joint I can give more than three stars to. THANK YOU! Their tea is ok, not as authentic tasting as other taiwanese milk tea place is. The Okinawa milk tea is good but if you're looking for authentic tea, this is not the place. Also, the people that works here are not the friendliest. Especially the guy. they act like you owe them for coming in here and giving them business. The mochi on top really hits the spot, it's sweet and refreshing, and perfect for a moderately temperate day! Although I'd say that it's a little pricey for a regular size (just slightly under $10), it's still worth it to me. My boyfriend comes here for drinks all the time, and although I used to really enjoy the lychee oolong here, I only get it occasionally now because it tastes just like peach GT or mango GT (in my opinion, they seem to taste a tad bit like Welch's fruit juice). Anywho, I've also taken my bay area friends from back home here a few times and they've always marked that it's great and they've wanted to come back again and again! I like how they replaced the old furniture because I thought it was a little dinky. My friends and I bring up about how it'd be nicer if the walls were painted or it was more decorative, but it doesn't bother me to that much. I wouldn't say that this is a good place to study because of the noise-level. People come here to catch up and hangout, and because of that it gets loud and it's sometimes hard to hear each other even. Although I feel like maybe early in the day it would be possible to get work done, I've heard it's possible! -- 0.5 stars for some of the workers here who are unfriendly. I have some friends that work here who are always kinda and helpful, but I noticed that some workers ignore people when they're trying to order. This has happened to me a couple times where I'd just wait for a couple minutes in front of someone at the counter before they've taken my order...I do understand the place is pretty busy for the most part, but whenever this has happened a staff member has just been doing small things like wiping down counters or cleaning up in the front. Not the best treatment in my opinion. However! Most of the workers here are friendly and that's why I don't have that much of a problem with it. They also serve milk tea, mojito drinks, taro balls, sago, etc. I've tried the Okinawa milk tea which is pretty good and the mango green tea is refreshing. They only let you use stamp cards on drinks. There's also a $8 minimum for credit card transactions (which is annoyingly just barely more than the cost of two regular drinks). I've been wanting to try this place out for a while now and it did quite live up to it's expectation. However, I wouldn't say this place is a solid 4 stars but since I can't give 3.5 stars I guess rounding it up to 4 is okay. First of all, this place is a lot further that I thought from UCD campus. It's located in a decent size plaza along with other businesses and two supermarkets. The vibe is great, definitely a place for college students to hang out especially at night. They play Kpop music and have a variety of board games to choose from. Matcha Red Bean Bingsoo (8/10) This is pretty well constructed. However, I wish they put some red bean at the bottom of the bowl too so that there are some sweets to go along with the ice at the bottom of the bowl. I did find myself finishing the evaporated milk and red bean halfway through the bowl and that was not pleasant. With the bitterness from the matcha, you really need the sweetness to continue finishing this treat. I did end up purchasing another evaporated milk, but that was an extra $1. Passion Fruit Green Tea (6.5) Meh, T4 definitely has a better passion fruit tea but this place is not bad. It's pretty similar to iTea's passion fruit tea. There's definitely more tea flavor than passion fruit. Overall, this is a great hang out spot for late night grubs. I probably wouldn't have run out of evaporated milk if I follow the instructor on the wall on how to eat the bingsoo (by digging a hole and pour the milk in). But, when the food looks this pretty, I don't think people are willing to ruin it right from the start. Also, the ice was piled up pretty high, I don't think it's possible to dig a hole without everything else falling apart.
