Old school dim sum spot that still has the rolling carts! Able to accommodate large groups and has a wide selection with the carts and servers coming by with special items too. Many servers speak Chinese and Vietnamese too which was helpful for our older folks. Everything was pretty solid. Their chili oil sauce was really good too. We also really liked the crispy pork belly. Would recommend!

Service was good, prices have gone up like most places, dumplings are ok. The best if still the fermented eggs and pork congee along the egg custard buns. Haven't been to dim sum for awhile and got in quicker than expected. It seems it's less busier than in years past. A lot less carts going around now.

Best place in twin cities for dim sum. Portions are large and everything was flavorful and delicious. It gets busy and it's not cheap, spent about $100 for 2 people. They charge a 4% credit card fee and automatic 15% gratuity. Service is fast and friendly.

It's been a while since my last review but just dropping by again to say this is amazing food and this will always be one of my favorite restaurants

The best dim sum in the Twin Cities! The line does start around 9 am, so recommend getting there before the 9:30 opening time if you have a large party. They have a large variety of dishes available on the dim sum carts, and the servers do a good job making sure you can get the items you're looking for if you ask. If you've never been to dim sum, just be aware that it will feel a little chaotic the first time with lots of carts running around and lots of people talking! My favorite dishes are the shrimp noodle, sesame balls, and turnip cake.

Dim sum might be my favorite way to spend a Saturday morning and Mandarin Kitchen is an excellent host for the occasion. There is a line at opening so come prepared but the staff are well prepared and organized to sit and serve everyone promptly. Dim sum can be a bit overwhelming if you're not familiar but lean into the chaos and you'll have a great time. Our strategy is to steer clear from the buns at first to not fill up too fast but you do you. The food itself isn't re-inventing the wheel but it is consistent and authentic. Personal favorites are the spicy peanut bun and the meatballs. Surprisingly, the star of this last visit was the egg rolls which we've always skipped before but they were excellent. Coming with a group allows for more experimentation and their lazy Susan tables are very accommodating. It does add up quickly though so be aware if you're on a budget. Overall, it's a casual, tasty, and different way to spend a weekend morning instead of heading to the familiar local diner.

Excellent place for dim sum AND dinner! Authentic Chinese food that fills the soul. Servers are excellent. Carted dim sum screams fresh from the stove/oven/grill. Large dining room with well lit natural lighting and warm candescent lighting at night. A requirement every time we visit Minnesota!

We loved everything we ordered! The rotating dim sum carts came by frequently, so there was always something new to try, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. We arrived around 11:45 AM on a Sunday and waited about 20 minutes, which felt reasonable given how busy the place was. The restaurant was lively and clearly popular, but service moved efficiently once we were seated. We'll definitely be back. One thing to note: there's a 3.99% surcharge for debit or credit card payments, so bringing cash is a good idea.

LOVE this Authentic Chinese restaurant! My family often comes here for dinner as a large group and we love it when we're seated at one of the lazy susan round tables. It's not the most romantic or modern decor, but they make up for it in the quality and taste of their food. Dim Sum: if you come between 9:30am-2pm on the weekends, you can get Dim Sum service, where they stop at your table with a wide variety of ready-to-eat delicacies. It's so fun to just point at what you want to eat! You can still order from the regular menu at any time too. My Favorites include: Beef Chow Fun (wide noodles) Roast Duck Shrimp Siomai Steamed BBQ Pork Buns Baked Egg Custard

Pineapple Bun and Sesame Ball

This is the best Dim Sum place in twin cities. This restaurant is very authentic with a variety of options. The food tastes fresh and yum! The service is amazing! There always are a lot of waiters and waitresses to serve you and explain the dishes to you. They have a lot of tables and their space is huge, but they are always so busy. If you want to get the food right away when they open, you need to get in line about half an hour early. Otherwise, parking lot is crazy and you have to wait for a long time. I wish their waiting system would be better.

Food was good. Service was terrible and over priced. We arrived at 1130 and was seated an hour later.

More variety than any dim sum places I've gone in Minnesota. It's the best one so far! Services are 3/5.

Do they take reservations?

Is it possible to order a bbq pork bun during the week or is it only a dim sum item?

Do they offer dim sum on Saturdays or is it only Sunday?

Both sat and sun.

Are they doing take out during these lockdown order?

Sorry Emily, drove by to make sure and their doors are completely closed. Not even take out orders.

How much is a whole roast duck and 1 lb of crispy pork?

A half roast duck is $13.95 but menu prices subject to change. I'm not sure how much for the crispy pork.

Do they serve Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings)?

No they don't. But I think another dim sum place in town does serve that.

Dim sum hours?

0930h - 1400h, Saturday and Sunday

Is everything made from scratch?

I think some. If you eat enough dim sum here in USA, u'll find that most of them look and taste the same. So, I think they source if from a common source and finalize the last step in preparation. But some dishes, I think they make it themselves.

Do they serve dim sum on weekdays?

Only on weekends and holidays...

Lots of door dash pickups. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, beef chow fun, and their sticky rice pork dumplings. First off there's soup was flavorful, nice depth with slow simmered tender beef, a single bok choy, and bouncy rice noodles. The chow fun was smoky, lots of tender beef and bouncy rice noodles. The dumplings were crispy on the outside but chewy and a tad sweet, kind of like mochi. Service was friendly. The sake flight is a great deal. Three generous servings of sake for $26.

JUN was close to being very bad. Everything at JUN was a salt bomb, but the fried tofu was the worst. It felt like I was dropping salt cubes down my gullet. We adore dumplings. In fact, in winter, I often resemble a dumpling, but the dumplings at JUN were mushy, tasteless, and salty. Fried beef was tougher than horsehide. The best dish was fried rice, but that wasn't memorable. The rent for JUN must be sky-high. I don't know how they can afford it. The North Loop deserves a great Chinese restaurant. Jade Dynasty, move down here. Until they do, we'll have to drive to Uptown for Chinese dining, but no take-out in winter. That makes me sad too. JUN's food didn't taste good. Leftovers went into the disposal.

The Dry Sautéed Green Beans were made with produce fresh from the farmers market and became an instant table favorite. For entrées we went big: the Sesame Chicken was solid, but the standouts were the Chicken with Cashew Nut and Basil (our waitress's recommendation and a table favorite -- great flavor) and the Singapore Chow Mai Fun (the hostess's pick and my personal favorite -- light but somehow still filling). The Beef Lo Mein rounded things out nicely. The staff made the night. Both the hostess and our waitress steered us toward dishes we wouldn't have ordered on our own, and their picks were the highlights of the meal. One more tip: Sunday is happy hour all day, so plan accordingly. Helpful, welcoming, and delicious -- we'll be back.

They were well seasoned, loaded with ingredients, and every bite felt worth the price (2 for $14). We also ordered the sesame chicken, and the portion size was surprisingly generous. Unfortunately, the chicken itself was a bit underwhelming, especially after starting with such an outstanding egg roll. I prefer my sesame chicken crispy, but this version was soft rather than crunchy and could have used more flavor. Even so, I'd definitely go back. The portions are excellent, and those egg rolls alone are worth another visit. Even though we got takeout, the inside looked cute, and vibey.
