Good enough? I visited for the first time hoping for quality Americanized Chinese food (based on rave reviews from friends) but find it to be semi-average. The chicken lo mein noodles are super thin, unlike regular spaghetti noodles that I've found in other Chinese restaurants. I think it comes down to personal preference so this is not a dish I will be ordering again. The Mongolian beef had decent flavor but zero scallions. Mongolian beef should be thick slices of green onions so that was a disappointment. I also found the chicken fried rice super bland and boring. Next time I know to stick with white rice for the better option. Portion sizes are reasonably large where each dish can easily feed 2 people. I did appreciate that restaurant giving me a punch card after my first order. It's motivation to try other dishes as prices are reasonable. I'm willing to give this place another try before ruling it out. read more

My husband and I ordered wonton soup, pork fried rice and dumplings. I never like to write negative reviews but I spent $45 on three items and it was horrible. Worst wonton soup I've ever tasted. The rice tasted like it wasn't cooked properly and the taste was off. The dumplings were a 4 out of 10. This place is not worth ordering from. Safe your money. I ordered take out from Uber Eats. Unfortunately the hot and sour soup and eggroll were extremely salty, and this coming from someone who really loves salt. I couldn't finish either. Still a favorite place for easy Chinese food. American style, not spicy nor greasy with big portions. Lunch specials are big enough for 2 or a very hungry teenage boy. Fresh cooked meals and easy parking (oversized lot)! Come here for a day or evening you want a stress free environment and you won't be disappointed. The lunch hour seems to be a little busier as they have lunch specials which you can find on the menu. This is my secondary visit and they have great sesame and cashew chicken (with veggies). The service is very quick and friendly. I can't wait to come here one evening to dine in as both visits have been takeout. Note: pricing is beyond reasonable and the portions are plentiful. We were welcomed right when we walked in and seated immediately. We came around 12:30pm on New Years Eve and they definitely were busy for lunch. The staff were kind, friendly and quick to help. Our appetizers of fries and shrimp came quickly! When our main food dishes arrived I was so surprised on the portion size. We all took home leftovers. The noodles on the Lo Mein were so thin (something I have not seen before with lo mein). The fried rice seemed pretty basic like no sprouts, green onion, cilantro. Just looked like frozen veggies mix and small pieces of scrambled eggs. What I loved about this place was portion sizes with a great lunch special price. This is one of our favorite restaurants as is the food is amazing and they have huge portions so you can get more than one meal out of it, but I just wanted to write about how amazing they have been through this COVID process. They were closed for a little while but they opened back up to-go only but they have a plexus glass window to get your food through and they have adequate signs to state only one person in at a time, ect. I feel the most safe getting food from them and of course the food is always delicious. Some of our favorites are pork egg fo young, hunan chicken, veggie lo mein and the veggie egg rolls and wontons are the best here always a must get. I highly recommend them all the time but especially right now if you are looking for a place to trust during COVID concerns. read more

This Restaraunt charges you $4 to change a vegetable... I asked if I could have onion instead of broccoli and pea pods...both cost way more than onions thought it would be an easy no brainer sure...my pleasure...well no she said it will cost $4 more to add a cheaper vegetable and delete the two more expensive vegetables. Then I asked how much would it cost to substitute mock duck for chicken or pork which is cheaper than all animal proteins...she says $9.00 more ...seriously plus the amount they want to charge for a substitution. That would make $12.45 for the Mushu pork w/o pork plus $13.00 for the changes for a grand total of over $25.00 for Mushu and with only two measly pancakes....yikes !!! Won't be ordering here anytime soon....who pays over $25 dollars for attitude and vegetarian Mushu. read more

I had their Moo Gu Kai Pan ladt year and loved. So i tried them again yesterday. Same order. I was disappointed as it was not the same as before, i.e., no Bok Choy, no mushrooms. Whenever I need a Chinese food quick fix, this is the place I head to. I've been really pleased with China Restaurant either ordering out or staying in. Even during their peak hours, I've had plenty of time to eat and get back to the office. You get an immense amount of food for the low price you pay. My usuals are the Mongolian Beef or Beef with Broccoli. The combination plate is a great value as you get your main dish, plus your choice of rice, one egg roll, and two cheese wontons. I usually swap the wontons out for two egg rolls with no problem. The wontons are delicious, I'm just an egg roll addict. Friendly staff, good food. read more

This is one of those times when I'm seriously torn on my rating. 2? 3? A very generous 4? The people here were very nice and the service was quick but the food was just OK. So I'm going with honesty and a Meh. High points: cream cheese wontons were outstanding, the tea was perfect and very hot and you really get a lot of food for the cost. The rest of the story: I ordered a sesame chicken combo extra spicy. The chicken is the dreaded mystery chicken parts that you usually get in the dishes like hot and spicy chicken. I generally expect sesame chicken to be more of the white meat variety. Further, it was not spicy at all and there was very little sauce. I was not impressed, especially given the fan fare from other reviewers. Did I hit the place on a bad night? Did I commit some sort of Chinese faux pas and paid the price? Was I expecting too much? Whatever the reason - I won't be back despite how great the other reviews are and how good the wontons were. read more

Ordered delivery from this place. I have a usual Chinese place I prefer but thought I would try something new. I have never in my life thrown away Chinese food before. Today I threw away $45.00 worth! I ordered: Hunan Chicken Chicken and Broccoli Chicken Wings The Hunan chicken was deep fried pieces of chicken breast that was drenched in General Tso's Sauce and White onions. Hunan Chicken is from the Hunan province of China. It has spicy black bean soy sauce base with thinly sliced chicken, or pork with water chestnuts, broccoli, baby corn and sweet peas. Chicken and Broccoli had no flavor. It tasted like steamed carrots, onions and broccoli with unseasoned pieces of chicken thrown in. The chicken wings were no crispy. They were fried in old oil and were not golden brown but dirt brown. This was a huge disappointment. They were also 15 minutes late delivering the food. They failed on quality, and customer service. When you go to China Restaurant, tell Yang I sent you. She co-owns the restaurant with her husband, and they are two of the kindest people I have ever met. My sister Chris and her husband James are regulars at China Restaurant, where Yang calls them by name and remembers their favorite dishes. The portions are incredible, especially in light of the ultra-affordable prices. The cream cheese wontons are as good as any I have tasted in the Cities, and my sesame chicken was tasty - without any regrets after the meal. The fried rice was phenomenal - cooked to perfection and exploding with flavor. While the location - in a struggling strip mall in Roseville - makes for an uphill battle, they have seen business steadily rising, and they make the interior cozy. I highly recommend it!! read more

There is one Cantonese/Hunan/Szechwan place in St. Louis Park that is my gold standard, and I haven't found anything approaching it on my side of town yet. So, I found this on Yelp, saw it well-reviewed, and stopped by after work. Wasn't really hungry, so I got fried wontons and wonton soup. The fried wontons were pretty standard fare, but the wonton soup was pretty awesome. Great broth, and nice chunks of peapods, mushroom, broccoli. I just scanned in the take-out menu, because I noticed there weren't any links to a menu. (sorry, iPhone sloppyscans). Not sure how this restaurant has this high of a rating. One star rating would be generous for this place. With the exception of fried rice, the rest of our food was basically inedible. You have to use bad quality, cheap and spoiled food to create food which is that horrible! Our beef chow fun was very oily, had over cooked noodles and beef that tasted under cooked or spoiled. General Tso would be ashamed of the his name sake chicken dish, that had a chemical smell to it, which had me lose my appetite. Fried Tofu dish had HUGE slices of Tofu that I have never seen in any humanly consumable dish. Worst of all none of their dish had any flavor! I would recommend everyone to avoid this restaurant if you care for your health and love of Chinese food. read more

Since Wongs, originally on Selby in St. Paul, later the family moved the restaurant to Rice and Wheelock and later closed we have bee searching for a comparable one. It took a looong time! This is the place! Their wontons are the best I've ever had! I love mock duck and it was delightful with a wide variety of veggies too. I'm thrilled that it's only a half mile or so from home. The staff are so pleasant, the menu is HUGE and the portions are astounding, but most importantly the food is outstanding!!! Do not miss out on this gem! read more
