If home cooking food is what you crave, then this is the spot. Our first time here, plenty of free parking. Sit where you like and staff was friendly and attentive. Wife had the ham and cheese omelet with extra crispy hash browns. Great breakfast. I had the roast beef with mashed potatoes, green beans and side salad. The side salad was enough to share. The roast beef is a lot of meat, flavorful and tender. Definitely worth the price for amount of food you get. Homemade rolls are awesome. Definitely recommend this restaurant and they have homemade pies.

Came here in awhile with the wifey for brunch and were glad we did. Had to be in Dallas for supplies and did som exploring. Hunger is always a good motivator to find the best spots where you're at! Great atmosphere with that nostalgic and classic diner vibe. Very well mannered and helpful staff. The service was just what you would expect. Warm and very accommodating. The food was great! We both had the roast beef and it was excellent with bread roll and cornbread! Perfect!!! We'll be coming for sure!!!

Worst breakfast I've ever had! Potatoes were cold and hard, pancakes weren't the business either.

Mama's Dinner . * * We visited @mamasdaughtersdiner for the first time. The place gave us a old school feeling. We had the chicken fried chicken and the #3 with ham. The flavor was great and the coffee hit just right to a great start of our weekend.

Their homemade chicken fried steak with black-eyed peas and mashed potatoes. The chicken fried steak is off the charts!

I know the restaurant itself is a real hole in the wall. A 6070s building. But the food is so good. Their chicken fried steak is amazing as well as their sides. And the homemade rolls are off the charts. The staff is very very friendly. If you like homemade good old southern cooking this place is a real winner.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Old school just how I like them. Great selection and price point also.

Home style cooking. Great for breakfast. Best cinnamon bun in Dallas. Home fries are like my mother's.

All smiles and eager to help, my kind of customer service! We were seated shortly after arrival, with no reservation, so that was nice! We dined in for Sunday brunch, nice sized crowd & the football games were on the TVs. Our server, Kevin, was so sweet and attentive. For the table: Fried catfish - amazing! Not too greasy, cooked perfectly and battered/seasoned well. Kevin confirmed that the fish is cooked in separate oil, win for me when I'm eating pescatarian. Waffle - delicious! Personally, I don't like my waffles crunchy so happy to report theirs were soft and fluffy! They add cinnamon to their batter which is a nice touch. Grits - both the cheese and regular were enjoyed! Cornbread - solid! A nice helping of butter served on top. Margarita - also solid! My only "pain point" would be that the building could use an update inside but clean nonetheless.

Super busy, inside the door was being held open since there was just people coming in and out. Had to get on a waitlist and that took an 45 to an hour to be seated. Once seated, the server wasn't anywhere to be found until 15 minutes after. I'm sure it was extremely backed up. But then the order didn't come after an hour. At that time, I didn't feel as hungry anymore so maybe I'll come back on a slower day. The food was decent but the sides were all pretty sodium loaded and the chicken was pretty greasy. The ambiance was and the hostesses were helpful. I would recommend to go on a slower day at least once if you haven't tried this place. Everything costs $60+, In my opinion the dishes are a bit overpriced. If you're watching out for your calories with this one then just forget it!

Just very sweet especially drinking their half gallon "Mystery" juice which was good, but also pretty diabetes sweet. I tried my best to get the mystery ingredients from one of the cashiers, but she held strong lol. Hubs had the catfish bites and Mac and cheese. Both were seasoned well and delicious. I had the fried ribs with baked beans and potato salad. The ribs were fried in a batter seasoned to perfection, and I really enjoyed those. I loved the potato salad and the baked beans were ok. My husband liked them but I thought they tasted heavily of bbq sauce. We all tried a side of spaghetti and it was good as well. Tasted like the spaghetti we used to make in college lol We got the Mystery Koolaid and Mango Peach Lemonade. Both excellent and surprisingly not too sweet. The service was 10/10. There was a very friendly young lady taking orders. This location is takeout only, so no ambiance to speak of. They run a very efficient operation, and I plan to return for sure.

We had the pleasure of meeting Nana herself. Me and my mom enjoyed speaking with her. She was pleasant and friendly. I loved how she was very down to earth. My mom took a photo with her. My server was the sweetest and most polite person. She checked on me and my mom multiple times. She was friendly and helpful. So I must say my service was welcoming and AMAZING! I felt like part of the family! Now it's not a fancy place, but it was clean and cozy. Like a mom and pops place. Condiments are provided on the table. Even roses that were real are in a vase. You can dine in or they have a carry out side. Well I chose fish since that's what I wanted. The 2 piece filet meal comes with 2 sides. They will bring your food out in a plastic container. So if you have left overs it's already set to go. The food came out hot and fresh. The fish was fried nicely. I wish it was seasoned a bit more for my liking. It was pretty good though. It was a great size and again fried to perfection. The hush puppies were really tasty. The fried corn fritter was delicious. The pickled tartar sauce was unique and I loved it. OMG the cabbage was so DAMN GOOD! This stole the show. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned with love. It touched my soul and I wanted to lick my container. The Mac and Cheese was a NO for me. It was like black pepper and cheese sauce. It was just blah and II didn't even eat it. However, others may like it, but it wasn't that great. Sorry Nana! Overall I had a good visit! I will definitely come back and EAT when in the area. The cabbage won me over. I left feeling happy and full. The southern hospitality was FANTASTIC!

I started with a sample taste of the frozen D'USSÉ margarita, which was the perfect way to kick things off. For appetizers, I ordered the deviled eggs and the fried salmon bites, and both were absolutely amazing. Flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. For my entrée, I clearly came hungry because I ordered both the jerk chicken with greens, smoked turkey, and mac and cheese, plus the catfish and spaghetti after our amazing waitress Justice highly recommended it. Let me just say, she did not miss. Everything was seasoned well, hot, and worth every bite. For drinks, I had the blackberry margarita and the tequila old fashioned. Both were strong, smooth, and definitely only for those who either walked there or took an Uber! Justice made the entire experience even better with her recommendations, attentiveness, and great energy. Overall, Kitchen + Kocktails is still amazing. While waiting for our food, the server brought out a basket of bread rolls which were very tasty. After a relatively short wait, our food was delivered. While the catfish was not as blackened as I prefer, it was flavorful. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The sandwich was HUGE (as my husband likes to say "quantity is a quality all on its own"). I was very glad we spilt it. That said, I could easily be convinced the chicken was a frozen patty, since there was nothing particularly special about it.
