    XL Family Pack
    Val S.

There are only a handful of Korean restaurants that I enjoy going to and Mama Woo's is one of them. It's easy to order since you can do online ordering. Ordered the the XL family pack which comes with Kalbi, meat Jun, mandoo, bbq chicken, bulgogi, spicy pork, rice and 4 choices of vegetables. Also ordered a side of meat Jun and KimChee Stew (you can choose your spice level). Placed the order a day before pick up which is very convenient. The food was ready at the time I had requested. Everything in the family pack was delicious, even the banchan. The kimchee stew was also flavorful. We had lots of leftovers and having good Korean food always hits the spot.

Mama Woo's offers generously portioned Korean-style plate lunches. Located in the McCully area, this business has both lunch and dinner options. Customer service is always excellent here. You can place a phone order to avoid waiting, though they're always fast! My boyfriend and I appreciate the portions here. Banchan is filled to the brim, making the prices worth it! I usually get full tackling a mini. Only time I was disappointed was with the house special spicy squid. Not much to eat and little flavor. The meat options are good though!

Yes Saaaahhhhh !!!! This is the place to get A huge Korean plate lunch !! Today I ordered the mama woos plate ($24) which came with four sides, Kal Bi, barbecue, chicken, spicy chicken wing, & beef. Which all were delicious. Service was great, as she welcomed us in, and answered any questions that we had. The restaurant is pretty casual, takeout only. There is street parking, and a limited private lot. Mama's woos is a must try! Follow me on Insta: @noodlesoupr

I've passed by Mama Woo's BBQ over the years and always told myself that I have to try them next time I don't know what I want to eat for lunch. Each time I ended up going to have pho lol. It wasn't until I finally put aside my pho cravings to check them out. They are located in the same lot and share the same parking with Wagaya. Mama Woo's BBQ has been around for about 24 years and offers Korean food. The current owner, Charlie and his family, have owned it for about a year. You can dine in or take out. They also offer catering. I called in my order of 1 BBQ Chicken plate and 1 Meat Jun with Kalbi plate. They told me it'll be ready in 10-15 minutes. I arrived and it was ready on time. You get 4 sides with each plate and the meat is laying on a bed of rice. I chose eggplant, potatoes, bean sprouts and cabbage. Their eggplant was surprisingly very good so give it a try! The other plate was 2 orders of broccoli and 2 orders of Chap Chae. Customer service was friendly and I got a chance to learn about their business from Charlie. The food was good and I was stuffed after eating the entire plate. Great option for Korean food in the Moiliili area.

This is the Kim chee chicken fried rice and the picky chicken wings. It was Ono!

The food is beyond the normal Korean food. It is way above the rest. I got the chicken Kim chee fried rice medium hotness and the side order of spicy chicken wings. Oh my god it was so delicious!

SO MUCH FOOD (even after eating half!) excuse the bone lol sorryyyy

Mama Woo's bbq is the BEST restaurant I've visited. I'm Korean-American and this was the best spot with the most generous portions and crazy amazing service. The lady in the front is the sweetest and most hardworking lady!! The food here Is ridiculously good and the huge portions make it that much better. You go in and order a plate and choose 4 sides I recommend the eggplant, japchae, pickled cucumbers, and kimchi and even the cabbage too. I ordered the mama special plate and I was truly blown away and felt as if this was the best bang for the buck. 2 meals basically! I Truly will become a regular here!!!

I was craving to eat Spicy Pork. After going thru a number of options I picked Mama Woo's. Haven't been hear in awhile so I was hoping that the food was still good. YES, the Spicy Pork was delicious. Ordered the mini and was surprised at how big the potion was. You get two choices of banchan. I picked Seaweed and daikon . Both were good. My wife had a mini Meat Chun. With potatoes and Chap Jai as her sides. The restaurant is now carrying out only. The two tables for dine in is against the wall and the chairs setup for waiting. Service was excellent. She even held the door open for me as I exited. Enjoy

While there is a small parking lot and limited street parking, Mama Woo's is a solid spot to head to for Korean food. Located on King Street next to a small array of other businesses, it is visible on the corner from the road. There is some seating inside but it seems to be for waiting for your food. It is mainly waiting space and the counter inside. The counter is straight ahead with a menu behind the counter and a selection of food on the counter to help you pick your sides. We like to get the meat jun, fish jun, and BBQ chicken. Each of these is tasty and consistent each time we order. Some of our favorite sides are the fried eggplant (so good!), shoyu potatoes, japchae, and tteokbokki. While I have seen most of the sides at other Korean spots, I have not really seen fried eggplant before. It is definitely my favorite of the sides. It is thick and tasty with a sort of fried dough and eggplant flavor. Each plate we get is about $18 but the portions are large enough as to where one plate can last multiple meals. It comes out as a deal and it so yummy. Definitely recommend giving Mama Woo's a try!

Take out system online was so easy to use and quick for the food to be ready we did the mini family set that comes with chicken, kalbi, bulgogi and meat Jun. You can choose from 4 of the side dishes which we went for the cucumber which was watery and okay, daikon which was super sour, wakame which was good, and the bean sprouts which you can't go wrong with! When I went for pick up the service was quick and easy with no other customers inside at around 7pm!

Welcome to Mama Woo's Bbq in the MCULLY area on the island of OAHU. It's located on the left side while driving down south king street. As for PARKING - They share parking stalls with other business partners in the same building there in. Also there is street parking available but please kindly read the street parking signs on when can you park. Food - We ordered the medium family pack and I'd say it was good and good amount of meat and veggie sides as well. There was KALBI short beef short ribs in the family pack but I was not to pleased with the Kalbi meat portion and the Kalbi cut, it was thinly sliced Kalbi was expecting it to be more on the thicker cut side. One thing I very like was their Okinawan potato salad I give them a thumbs up on that veggie side choice. Ambiance - nothing to fancy just simple Resturant with a take out counter and I believe with couple chairs and tables. I'll have to double check on that when I go again. Posted on 2/2025

The original Mama Woo has retired. I've been eating her food since she was next to Costco tire shop Hawaii Kai, so at least 2 decades. Initially I heard mixed reviews, like the food wasn't as good anymore now that there's a new owner so I stayed away. Then one day a few months ago I really wanted meat Jun so I gave it a try AND GUESS WHAT? CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED. Thank you new owners! This is KEY, because the original owners were cash only for the last 25 yrs, and a lot of times I avoided this place because I don't have cash. BANCHANS are better! It's like they took all her recipes and made it just a little better! The eggplant is definitely better now, and the potato salad is perfect! Cabbage and greens are tasty. Dang everything is better. MEAT JUN is better! So before, the meat Jun was little bit dry and didn't have as much flavor. Now it tastes like it's been marinated longer and better cuts of meat(?) or something. Definitely an improvement. The sauce is still the same tho. SERVICE was very good. There was a younger Asian guy who was in the front now. I didn't ask his name but he's great. Sometimes a change in ownership is a good thing.

Kalbi. Meat Jun. Chicken Katsu. Fish Jun.

The parking is a little weird because once you head in you have to back out and make a turn around in front of the building. Only has take out and is similar to Yummies. But has a lot of variety for sides or banchan. Tons of combinations for entrees. Would recommend it. They give a good amount

The guava bar was delicious and flavorful and just crumbles in your mouth! Definitely one of the better guava bars I've tried. Love how crumbly it is. The salmon belly was delicious OMFG. It looks so simple and straightforward but that sht is so flavorful. It is crispy and yet soft on the inside. The salmon belly is cut into bite-sized pieces so I didn't have to worry about using a knife to cut it. I usually try salmon belly where it is usually seasoned lightly to bring out the natural flavor of the salmon, but Guava Smoked's salmon belly is just grilled in a way that makes the salmon sweet/crispy and still get traces of the salmon taste as well. It's definitely not your traditional Japanese-style way of cooking salmon belly but really just their own. I'd go back and get this again. Another thing too. I'd get this with beer. This would hit very hard with alcohol but because I don't drink I need a kombucha. The grilled salmon belly would go perfect with it. Cheers! Uncle was very helpful and kind when serving and if you dine-in he brings it to your table.

There is a dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant that is shared with the other businesses in the same building. When I walked into the restaurant at about 1pm on a Wednesday, I was surprised to find it almost empty. It's a pretty large space, so the lack of patrons was rather glaring. There was one person sitting at the counter facing the kitchen and one employee working. This was my very first visit to Guava Smoked so I asked the person at the counter what he recommends. He said the two most popular meats are the kalbi and the spicy pork. "Perfect!" I thought, because those were the two options I was eyeing. Unfortunately, they were out of kalbi that day. Bummer... Nothing else on the menu caught my eye, so I ordered a smoked spicy pork plate to go. The spicy pork was good. Did it blow my mind? I wouldn't say it did. But it was satisfying enough. Honestly, I really wish they had kalbi available when I went. Hopefully next time I stop in they will.

This place makes their soondae in house as I can tell the difference with frozen soondae and non-frozen ones. Until I go to Korea to try the real thing, this is the best I can get. The aunties here are still very nice but as always give grace because it does get busy here and one aunty would have to take care of multiple tables and party size as well. The food is good, I love AYCE BBQ and all of the meat they provide is EXCELLENT, especially the pork/samgyupsal. The only thing they can beat at is the beef tongue, while it is still very good, Gyu Kaku has better beef tongue but it's just expensive so not worth it at all. Their banchan is great, I am a fan of the Kim Chi they serve here, it has a nice funk to it and a subtle sourness that cuts through the well marbled meat you'll be eating. The Kim Chi soup is also great as well, just as a warning, if you rarely eat kimchi you WILL have increased bowel movements which is not food poisoning but it's the probiotic gut health nature of Kim Chi that flushes you out. So eat it in moderation. My favorite picks are the Pork Jowl/Brisket/Bulgogi/Beef Belly, you literally cannot miss with whatever you pick, it's all very tasty and easy to eat. The service is awesome and feels homy, all the auntys walk around and do their own thing and sometimes check up on you/restock your banchan/soup if you want them to. They have a button you can press to ring them up but you rarely need to do it. If you're not used to how asian auntys talk or behave please don't take it negatively, they express themselves in a brusque manner but they really mean the best. Overall, great meat, great service, great parking space and convenient. The last time I found an awesome tasty spot and wanted to gatekeep it was Seasons Taiwanese Eatery.
