Goat soup
Dennis S.

Wow I was truely impressed by this place!! Not only do they have African cuisine but Japanese too. My friend from Lagos said I should try Nigerian food so he took me here and said it was the best in town. I have to admit I was a bit nervous bc I know how spicy it can get. Let me tell ya it was spicy but I tolerate it well. The service was great and the owner came out to greet everyone! Food was terrific! Started with goat soup . if you've never had goat, it can get bony but the meat is delicious similar to lamb. Then we also had okra soup with a starchy ball (don't remember the name.) but you eat this with your hands. Then I had oxtail stew boy was that delicious. If you haven't tried Nigerian food, please go here. Check this place out. You might like it.

Fried Red Snapper and Jollof Rice

First let me say that their Jollof rice is amazing. I've eaten at this restaurant on several different occasions and I have yet to be disappointed. I had the snapper and Jollof rice, okra stew and puff puff. Please go check out Mama Putts you will thank me later

If you are looking for authentic African food this is the spot! I love everything I get from their menu and they have better options than other African restaurants I've been in Las Vegas. I've taken friends here and they have gone back to this place several times already.

The food was excellent. I walked in and immediately knew I was about to eat amazing African food! If you want some Nigerian/Cameroon food this would be your spot to get exactly that! It's authentic & delicious! And I say authentic not only because the style of the food but the welcoming and friendly service! & you have some music in the background to put a cherry in top! Great job! My boyfriend and I are so glad we found you!

Egusi soup

Omg I just love going here. This is the best African restaurant I've been to out here in Vegas. The egusi soup never fails me. I love, love, love the flavors. The service is always amazing as well. This is the first time I had the puff puff balls and they are great as well. The restaurant has a good vibe, I always get my good to go but if I decided to eat in, it would also be an amazing experience. Thank you for the amazing food and service : )

Really wanted some African food so I came to try Mama Putt for the first time. David provided good and friendly service. I had the red snapper and it was delicious. It was cooked perfectly too. My daughter had the wings and enjoyed it too. I would come back and recommend this restaurant if you want some good red snapper.

Beef Egussi & fufu

Absolutely love Mama Putt. I came here when they first opened and coming back again, I love the new decor of the place. This is truly a hidden gem with beautiful owners. They are super nice, funny, & helpful. I've tried the red snapper and Jellof rice. Which both were amazing. This time I tried the Egussi -beef & fufu & that was amazing as well. Very flavorful. Truly a peace of love here. Will be back again.

Great customer service, delicious food. If you're new to African cuisine they're happy to describe the food and help walk you through how to eat it. If you're familiar with African foods, you're in for a treat! Amazing comfort food, thank you Mama Putt!

This was our first time here and they were very patient and accommodating to us. They explained all their popular items, went over their favorites, and even gave us samples of their popular stew items. We got the following: A seafood empanada A beef empanada Red stew with lamb and jollof rice Okra stew with chicken and fufu Hibiscus juice Baobab juice Everything came out to around $82, which I feel is very fair since we brought home a good amount of leftovers too. The restaurant is spotless. They have a cute bar area. They play music videos on the TV and it's been a great vibe. They have live music on some nights too. We're already planning our next visit, hoping to try the grilled meats or their red snapper next time!

We started with the black eyed pea fritters which were so soft inside and crispy on the outside. The black eyed pea dipping sauce was spicy but flavorful. The peanut butter stew was the star. Super flavorful and comforting. The Chicken was well seasoned and tender. The egusi was new to us. It has a nutty flavor and is sort of the texture of a tofu scramble. It was very spicy. Overall great time and food! We will be back.

I had so much anxiety cause ive never even ordered Nigerian food and didnt know where to start and im so happy I was there to receive service from David. He was patient and kind while guiding me through how to order. he was missing some things like chicken but he was open and honest about that and about the menu prices now being different which is a big complaint i saw in the negative reviews. he showed me what everything i ordered would cost and apologized for the error. I honestly didnt mind and the prices were super fair especially for the serving size. he asked what heat level i wanted from 1-10 and i said 5 and he warned me 5 was probably a 8-9 in american food. which made me laugh and i changed it to a 3 to be safe and fair warning it was still spicy(not too bad) ! but to say it was absolutely delicious is an understatement! the food did take about 20 minutes to prepare and its made fresh and i mean FRESH that fufu was super hot. my mom loved the jollof rice and i loved the egusi soup. 10/10 i would come again and try more things maybe a little less spicy though! i wish i took photos of the food but we were hungry and had such great comfort food. cant wait to go back!

Stars - A Hidden Gem That Warms the Heart and the Tummy!…read more Oh, where do I even start with Lucy's Ethiopian Restaurant ? I stumbled upon this cozy little spot and it turned out to be delicious. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted like an old friend, who has this infectious smile that could melt butter. The staff here isn't "friendly", they're the kind of warm, genuine folks who make you feel like family crashing a Sunday dinner. Now, the food... chef's kiss times infinity, it was Divine. I keep my choice very simple 1/2 veggie and 1/2 meat combo In and it was delicious!!! Prices are fair and service was quick. If you're craving food that's not just excellent but soul-satisfying, and service that restores your faith in humanity, run (don't walk) to Lucys Ethiopian Food. Every time I come to Las Vegas, I'll be sure to come. I can't wait to bring the whole family next time!

The portion is huge so be prepared to share and still have leftovers to take home. My favorites were the beef with onions and meat in green sauce. For veggies, I loved the greens and steamed spinach. Simple and clean to enjoy between the other flavors on the plate. I do wish the yellow and green lentils had more spices/ seasoning since they were a little bland. Overall a great platter though. The lentil samosa is also delish!

As an Africa-born person, I was pleasantly surprised at the precision of Ethiopian spices in the Berbere and the preparation of the collard greens. It was really a trip back to Mama Afrika. We ordered the Lamb Gursha and it did not disappoint. Hours later, I'm dreaming of that thick, luscious, viscous gravy, tingling on my palate. SO INCREDIBLY GOOD. The teff-flour injera was soft, spongy and melted in the mouth. The gomen (collard greens): served hot in a stone bowl was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked (I detest overcooked collards). Now to the lamb: it was melt in your mouth, fall off the bone tender. It was encased in the rich, viscous berbere "gravy". Oh my! They had incense burning, an Ethiopian show on TV with spiritual music. This is an absolute gem of a place. Exceptional service. SPOTLESS restroom, gleaming kitchen. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.
