Let me start by saying that my intentions were to purchase 3 to 4 plates; but their method of payment was cash and Zelle temporarily. So I was only able to try the Jerk Chicken plate. The chicken and sauce was very flavorful and well seasoned with a spicy smoky taste. The chicken is not grilled on a pit, but has a smoky taste. Tender, served on a bed of rice and peas and a side of cabbage mixed with mixed vegetables, that were green beans, corn, and lima beans. I'm not sure if they were out of plantains, but that was not on my plate. I was looking forward to it. I really enjoyed my meal and I will have to come back to purchase other dishes. The service was fast and friendly. I'm looking forward to seeing the place after the renovations are done. (They are open during renovations.) (ask about the weekly and monthly specials.) I hope that they brighten up their sign on the outside of the restaurant and also make the view of the restaurant bright at night so it does not look like it's closed in the evening . It's so dark at night...If I had not known that the restaurant was really open, I would have gone home just by looking at it because it looked like it was closed. I also heard someone in the restaurant say the same thing. The Chef said that he will continue specials each month. And I advise that you call ahead of time to find out if the methods of payment are still temporarily limited before you get there. Nobody wants to see potential business walk away if they only had a credit card or even drive past because they thought that a restaurant was really closed. I'm looking forward to coming back to see how the place is coming along; and to try other entrées on his ever expanding menu. Bottom line...... Great food, great people and a great renovation in the works. I'm looking forward to doing a follow up review with a higher score. read more

Tacos were extremely small....steak were underwhelming. The jerk nachos were like stale stand concession nachos ..tasted like nachos were warmed up with chicken on top...definitely heard a microwave ..topped with jalapeños, cold cheese, and barely any jerk chicken. The food tastes how the establishment smells. Sorrel wasn't good and barely options as far as food only on certain days. Im Jamaican and originally from the east coast...guess mi grandmadda and aunty spoiled me suh! Service wasn't too friendly so I assumed this would be amazing. read more

It just wasn't good at all. They microwaved plantains that were not ripe. The rice and beans were not good at all and the Ox Tail that the owner told me to try needed to be cooked a little longer. No thank you read more

The prices and portion sizes. Got the audacity to charge 30 something dollars for a half jerk chicken and oxtails platter. Mind you it comes with 3 oxtails and a chicken quarter which is a thigh and drum stick connected. So then I asked what does a jerk chicken platter come with... one chicken leg, quarter rice and peas and cabbage. Again one chicken leg quarter does not fill up most people are you kidding me and you have the nerve to be charged in 20 something dollars. I do not recommend this place. I don't care how good the food is. read more

So I order through Uber eats and when I got my food!!!!!! 2 thinly sliced pieces of oxtail. This was a large order. So what does a small look like??? NO MEAT? I'm working on getting my money back. I spent 109.00 with them and this was terrible after a very long day. Beware of these small containers. I would never advise anyone to order from them. I grew up on Jamaican food and I have no idea what nationality they are because this is not right. I feel like I was robbed. Seriously. I had to take the time to right this because it was that bad. The cabbage looked totally different in each container. How is this. I feel like the people need to pay them a visit because this food is not right. We arrived in Vegas and headed straight for our favorite spot for some oaxtail eggrolls and jerk chicken pasta. We found out that the Jerk Dat Seafood Bar & Grill location @ 4375 West Desert Inn Rd, was PERMANENTLY CLOSED. We searched and found Jerk Dat on 4734 East Flamingo Rd, Paradise. We were hoping that this would have the same owner and boy were we blessed. Upon arriving they were about to close for the night. The owner recognized us, gave us a big hug and invited us into the restaurant. Although, he had worked over 12 hrs that day and looked very tired. He made us an amazing meal and sat with us to converse while we ate NOTE: Make sure to get there early because they do run out of some food and drink items. read more

It was three of us that went on a Friday around 1:00 pm. I paid $42 for an oxtail and jerk chicken plate. All of us hated the chicken that seemed like scraps and they only gave a small portion of the oxtails. They were sold out of a lot of options including the patties. I would probably never return, there are other better options. read more

The food was delicious. Everything was wonderful to the rice, to the cabbage, to the main part the jerk chicken. Everything was seasoned to perfection and gave the food a wonderful Caribbean taste. The workers were super nice and friendly, gave it a homey vibe. Everything was super good the only issue was they didn't have Jamaican patty at the time, but other than that everything was wonderful. Was in the area recently and looking for some food, Jerk Dat sits unassumingly in a shopping center complex. As my team and I entered, we were greeted with a smile and a welcome. Walk up counter service, this is traditional Jamaican cuisine. Very good, rich, flavorful and just good food. Ordered the Oxtail and Chicken with traditional sides and it was so good, and so authentic it made me feel as though I was back in St. Ann. I received a cooked rat from this place. Let me explain: I had ordered chicken and ribs using Uber Eats. I ordered from a place called Fox Smokehouse Barbeque @4734 E. Flamingo, LV,NV 89121, but Fox Smokehouse Barbeque is not at this address. Somehow, Jerk Dat fulfilled my order, and I got chicken pieces that were circular and one piece, after close inspection, had a small rib cage. I did not recognize any parts as chicken, and I frequently eat chicken. At this point, I don't know how my order got mixed up in the first place but at least give me back my money!!! read more

DO KOT COME HERE IF YOUR VISITING , they do not like visitors or content creators Lady was so rude and demoralizing after I drove 25min to attempt to try an authentic Caribbean restaurant, I was just missing home and wanted a little taste of some comfort but honestly it was the worst experience I have ever had. I was extremely excited to eat here as I have tried many different Jamaican restaurants and have been extremely satisfied, but this restaurant, sad to say I could not give a great review. Prices raised to about $24/plate and as shown in the photos, not worth the price at all. The meats were sitting in the burner, which made the proteins extremely dry, the plantains were sitting out, uncovered and did not look fresh at all, but was still served. Flavors were there, but for the rate it is charged, i would expect the quality and cleanliness to be the same as the other great Jamaican family owned restaurants I've tried. I wish i could leave a better review, but the best feedback I would share with the owner is, as a customer's stand point, the quality and portion served, should match the price charged on the menu. Jerk Dat is DAT SPOT. I get the oxtails, peas & rice, cabbage and plantain. Sooooo delicious! The service is great, the staff is very pleasant, friendly and attentive. The Chef came out to ensure our visit was going well and thanked us for coming, I love the interest showed in the customers. The restaurant is very clean with red, green, and yellow walls and different flags hanging from the ceiling. I love that they have reggae playing for the customers listening pleasure. First time here. And must say I shouohave been slap not coming here. This place Jerk Dat is awesome! Great customer service, very clean restaurant, and the smell is so so good! Being my first time I had to try the curry chicken with beef patty. The cabbage and peas and rice is banging OMG the curry chicken is mouthwatering. The menu choices are great with great prices! Okay, I have to admit that my in-laws are Caribbean, so I've most certainly had some very tasty homemade Caribbean food! Especially by the grandparents. So my expectations here at Jerk Dat were pretty high, because I'm used to very authentic food made in this style. This is a small but cozy little restaurant in a shopping plaza. The staff were very welcoming, but also very focused on just taking care of customers. They were all working very hard and quickly to take care of a large demand of customers when I was there. I ordered the Salmon meal, which takes at least 20 mins, and my friends ordered the Oxtail with a side of chicken Patty. The rice, cabbage, oxtail & Salmon were very very flavorful!! Everyone is friendly and welcoming the moment you walk inside of the restaurant. I was at their new location at 4355 desert inn! It's a very cool clean place with a very good location. The walls are colorful coated, there's a 50 inch television playing excellent Nigerian South African and African music videos,.. and the seating is comfortable and adequate.. but most importantly the food is amazing;) I was there for a African club meeting and it's the perfect place to do business but it's also a great place to just come and bring people for excellent Jamaican food. The owner is a great guy very connected in the city and he is an executive chef in conventions at the cosmopolitan hotel.. you can't lose by going here but it's right at the corner of desert inn,... And as of next week or so they'll have an full bar. I recommend it and I definitely plan to go back. I'm training for a fight so I can't go until after August 10th. read more

I can't really give a full review because I had an order to go. The greens were okay. I've never seen so many small pieces of Oxtails for a dinner. Usually you would get 1 or 2 big pieces of meat but the dinner has about 5 extra small oxtails super dark almost black gravy/roux not sure. With lamb chop smell to it. 2 pieces of fried banana with no flavor. read more

Fantastic Jerk Chicken! Mine came with rice (with beans) and a great cabbage side dish. I could eat this every day. Falling-off-the-bone good. Just the right amount of sweet and spice. I pushed my rice into the sauce just to get it all. I was looking specifically to support Black-owned businesses- and found this awesome spot on Yelp. I went to the location on Flamingo today!! I do not like having to leave a bad review however I was very disappointed!!! I had heard so many good things about this place and was longing for some good Curry chicken!!! The portion was very small only the back of the chicken parts!! Rice and peas was very mushy and only had two peas in it!! The cabbage almost okay!! Beef patties were not even good!!! The lady working the counter disappeared for 15 minutes or more while customers waited in the lobby!! Perhaps they were not ready for more than one location!! I am so disappointed guess I have to wait until I go back to NYC to get good Jamaican Food read more

I give credit where credit is due and honey listen their food is bomb!! I hadn't ordered from here in a while because I moved about 20 mins away but yesterday I was in the mood for Jamaican. I ordered a jerk plate and a beef patty and it was so nice I had to do it twice lol. I went back today and ordered me and my husband's jerk chicken plate and sweet plantains.. Everything was delicious they never disappoint. The owner let me try the stewed chicken and it was so damnnn delicious I gotta go back tomorrow for some!!! As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Oniel, who welcomed us and quickly seated us with menus. He mentioned that he had a large group to serve (about fifteen people) but reassured us that his waitress would be arriving soon. Oniel took the time to explain the menu, and we placed our drink orders--mine was a pineapple and ginger mix, which turned out to be refreshingly unique. It was such a treat to see options beyond the usual sodas and iced teas. Oh my goodness, food was so good!! I got the combo plate, jerk chicken & oxtails, mac n cheese & grilled veggies. I had little bit of mac n cheese left & two pieces of chicken I took w/me, I ate that later. The ambiance was fantastic: beautiful decorations and Caribbean music playing at just the right volume, creating a lively atmosphere without overpowering our conversations. It's always a plus when you don't have to shout over the music. As the evening went on, the waitress and another cook joined, which was perfect timing since six more guests walked in. The waitress was friendly and pleasant, adding to the overall great experience. Oniel includes a little history about his journey on the menu, which is both interesting and inspiring. He runs the place with professionalism, efficiency, and a genuinely pleasant attitude. I highly recommend House of Dutch Pot to anyone visiting Las Vegas. I always pop into this restaurant to eat when I'm in town, and I always seem to order the same thing... I ordered the pernil, which is roasted pork, arroz con gandules, potato salad, and trifongo. The roasted pork was so tender and delicious. I got some of the dark meat pieces, which are my favorite. The trifongo definitely wins the taste test. Trifongo is a Puerto. Rican dish made with green and sweet plantains and mashed together with pieces of fried pork and Chicharrón. My food was so delicious and yummy. I had to leave some of it on my plate, so I wouldn't go into a food coma. As always, the service there is on point and friendly. The host and server does not miss an opportunity to make sure to check up on you and provide water, or whatever beverage you're drinking. They're very sweet and run a pretty efficient shop. The cooks really I did themselves this time! The restaurant is always cleaned... The wait staff is always on top of cleaning the tables, and making sure everything is orderly. The bathroom is also clean. The restaurant has an open kitchen concept, so you can see the cooks in the back, preparing the dishes, including mashing up the plantains to make the trifongo. If you are in town, you must try this place. I recommend the roasted pork and the fried chicken. Of course, if you're looking for something on the smaller side, you can try the trifongo. Be patient though, if they are particularly busy, you may have to wait, and they may be out of some things. Over the years, I've learned to ask what they ran out of. Enjoy!
