I have never been to a restaurant like this before, odd is an understatement. We were seated, given menus, and then told to order your food inside in the hallway at the counter. Drinks are self served at a drink bar with styrofoam cups. An expensive 5 guy burger feel to it. Food was good however. We had steamer for 4 and fried oysters. read more

My family loves this restaurant. It's just real simple food done real well and the staff are hard-working to make sure that you get great customer service. I had the shrimp Poboy, and some of my family ate the burgers. The food is really good. We ordered take out the first night we were here in OBX. The food was 'good' but not 'great.' I wasn't expecting to drop $80 on what amounted to a bunch of pretty standard flash frozen fried shrimp and mediocre fries as one of the meals. The oysters were good, but a little gritty. The onion rings were paper thin - so much so that I thought they had forgotten to bread anything and just gave me circles of deep fryer meal. The fried green Tomatoes might be the worst I have ever had, smeared with what appeared to be Cheez Whiz on top and some chopped up greens consisting of peppers, onions and seasonings. Not at all what I have become accustomed to as an authentic dish. I would give this place a chance to redeem itself but we are leaving on Thursday and won't have a chance to eat out before we leave. What a crown jewel in a very casual setting. Cold PBR for $1 and other great beer and drink specials. The real star however is the food. Small 1 page menu but it's filled with perfection. My wife had the shrimp and fries and I had the fish n chips. Both were perfect and honestly top 3 we've ever eaten. So tender and the batter wasn't heavy and it complimented the fish and shrimp while adding a great crunch with the amazing texture you look for with fish n chips. I'm from out of state and was craving crab legs and came here because of the highly rated Yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint! I placed a takeout order for 10lbs snow crab legs, scallops, calamari, shrimp, and fries- all of it was delicious and was ready within 45minutes. This place had great reviews but we were disappointed. The food wasn't terrible but the service was. OBX is obviously a huge tourist area so you would think that employees would expect tourists. My mom and I vacationed here and stopped in due to the good reviews. The man at the register was very rude and barely acknowledged us when we walked in. He kept going over and talking to another couple who seemed to be locals and he was very friendly with them so he clearly was just being rude bc we weren't locals. When we placed our orders he was short with us and barely said two words. When our food came out my mom got the wrong food, fried shrimp instead of the fish sandwich. The batter did not taste fresh and the tartar sauce was spicy. He also had a dog that he was allowing to roam around which I typically love but anytime he tried to come near my mom and I the owner would call him away but he was allowed to go visit the other couple. Overall my issue was with how rude this guy was and I would never return here simply because of that. read more

We have been here twice and we really enjoyed it both times. We got the Shrimp Basket and Fried and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. The grilled chicken sandwich was the best I've ever had. This is one of our favorite casual places to eat in Corolla! Their food was incredible and so was the service. The employees are very kind. You definitely have to try the fried green tomatoes appetizer. We were blown away by it. I went back the next evening and ordered 2 of them to go as we were grilling out at the house that night. They were a hit with the whole party! The restaurant is very clean. You seat yourself and order/pay at the counter.
