Malibu wired is by far the best contractor that I have worked with since purchasing our home in Studio City. These guys use the best brands and have the the most high tech, state of the art equipment available. The home we moved in to had old outdated equipment. Vladimir and his team were able to utilize some of the existing wiring and completely update me with the latest cameras and Control4 home automation system. I now have an amazing setup with multiple rooms having home theater style audio systems. Since our initial meeting we have also added the Rachio 3 smart sprinkler system , 15 high definition outdoor cameras , Wi-Fi door locks on the from door and rear gates, multiple control4 switches and really awesome true audio outdoor speaker system with a 10in subwoofer buried in the ground - the sound is unreal! But beyond all the tech and sound Malibu wired has incredible attention to detail. At the end of each day they take time to clean up the job site and I'm not talking about sweeping the dirt in the corner. I contacted this company to have them do some work on our smart home and to improve on some of the hardware but after an in-home assessment they never got back to me!!! I was told they would and was hoping to have them take over our system bc they are so close to home but as a result of their lack of communication I've decided to go with Gizmo, another local company that provides the same service. I gave Malibu a chance but I was so disappointed in their lack of communication. We bought our home in LA having relocated from NY - we used Savant Systems equipment in NY, and they recommended Malibu Wired as a preferred dealer in my new area. Tommy, Vladimir and team did a bunch of work for me - TVs, security cameras, lighting, thermostats, and security system/gates, all tied into a new Savant control system which I can control remotely since I travel a fair amount. They did an amazing job! As with all these complex installations, they ran into the occasional problem along the way, but (a) were always responsive, and they came and went as they said they would, (b) didn't stop until things worked correctly and were set up the way I wanted, and (c) didn't nickel and dime at all - the price was the price. Awesome company with Great customer service. I have mostly used them for installation of Survilance cameras throughout various properties. I had them install these cameras on over 9 of my properties around USC area and it's been one of the best thing I have done. I made a mistake of going with a competitor on one of the properties and that was a mistake. I recently hired Skylink Communications to install a video surveillance system at my house and they did a fantastic job. All the video cameras and equipment were installed in a very clean and professional manner. The EyeMax DVR system they installed allows me to remotely log into the security system, via the internet, to search recorded footage or watch live feed. The system is great! They definitely go the extra mile to make sure the customer's happy. And if you run into any problems or have any questions after the work is complete they're very easy to get on the phone and quick to respond. I too am wondering who the people are who are giving rave reviews. Most of those reviewers are without a photo and have one review. That said, let this be a WARNING. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We were promised a complete wireless home system - Sonos, Connect 4, etc. it has been 4 months and NOTHING works as it should. Each time (about 5 times) they've come out: Vladamir, Tom, and/or Tommie, they promise the world (that is after you've sent numerous text messages and emails (which they prefer over calling they tell you.) However when they are leaving saying everything works fine - the confidence they are NOT showing, should have been telling to me. But each time I fall for what they say. The recent visit, they changed our wifi name and password WITHOUT giving us any notice nor talking to us. We have three TVs and there is not one that works correctly. The Sonos sound system comes and goes. We have once again begun our text messages, emails, and phone calls over the course of a week. They are MIA. I wish we would have looked on YELP before hiring Tommie and Malibu Wired. He seemed competent with Vladamir behind...and the other crew. Lesson learned. Still trying to get our TVs working. Hope we do by the end of the year! Beyond frustrated. I thought people had more integrity than this in the day of social media and all. Common courtesy and customer service is not too much to ask, is it? read more

PLEASE BEWARE! I don't know who's writing all of these positive reviews, probably the owners of this crappy business but they are BEYOND unprofessional! My first experience with them should have been a warning of things to come - BOY do I regret it now! Started out with a search on ServiceMagic to find someone to install 4 video cameras at my apt building in Hollywood, I promptly got a call from Vladamir, sounded like he was eager to come out and give me a free estimate so I booked it for Saturday at 1 pm, never showed up so I call him at 2;30pm and he said he was "sorry" but was at the aquarium with his family in Long Beach. I asked him why he didn't call me, he said he "forgot". I decided to look into other companies. A few months went by and I hadn't got the cameras installed yet due to finances so I went back to ServiceMagic and once again I get a call but this time from Tommie. I explained I would rather not do business with them considering how poorly I was treated by Vladamir and the complete disregard for my time. He apologized and offered me a "discount" for my troubles, he came out and gave me another estimate and after speaking with Tommie I felt better about going with this company. Three weeks later they come out and install the cameras, right off the bat I knew there was something wrong with one of the cameras at the back stairwell, it was extremely blurry and Tommie even acknowledged that this was not right, it should be a clearer picture so he has the guys come back out. These two guys spoke Russian back and fourth to each other and then called Vladamir, again speaking in Russian the entire time so I had no idea what they were saying but according to them - Vladamir was the "expert" and that he did not think there was anything wrong with the camera that it was the shadowing in the back of the building that was making the camera look blurry which I knew was COMPLETE rubbish considering that I had another camera in another area that had NO light and far more shadowing. A week later I have another camera malfunction over the parking lot, this time all I can see if a white ring around the screen, again the guys come out and see it and call Vladamir, this time Vladamir comes out himself and has the nerve to tell me that it is from the light on top of adjacent building next to us, I tell him there is no light on the roof of that building he insists there is, the next day I call the owner of that building and he confirms there is no light on the roof. I even went out at night and took pictures, NO LIGHT. I send Vladamir the pictures and I get NO REPLY FOR 4 DAYS, Tommie gets back to me after me calling and leaving THREE unreturned vm messages over a week and says they will replace. I make an appointment for them to come the following week at 11am, they show up at 4pm and when the guy shows up he does not have a ladder tall enough, funny because they had a ladder tall enough when the initially installed it! So they come back out and replace the camera ..wanna guess what happened next? The guy came out and said AGAIN that they forgot to bring a high enough latter! I told him I cannot take anymore time off work and they need to get this resolved once and for all! They came the next day 2 hours AFTER they said they would BUT they managed to replace the camera. So I have one camera that's blurry and one that has been replaced. Not even a few days after they replaced the camera over the driveway it starts getting static then a fluttering image! I call them and they don't have time until next week to see me so I email them video of what was happening. After calling several times and leaving several messages I finally write them an email explaining how completely unhappy I am at this disgusting level of service I am getting. I call Tommie and leave him a message and he writes me back an email saying he was sorry but they were at some technical conference. So the guys come back out and the tech acknowledges the fact that there is something wrong, he calls Vladamir and they start speaking in Russian which I cannot understand, so guess what they did? They go to the back of the DVR recorder and wiggle the wires on the back!! they say "that should fix it cause wires were just loose", I told him the wires were NOT loose as that was the first thing that I checked! In conclusion - I called them about 6 times and emailed them 3, I never heard back from them, they have never once tried to call or email me since then. I have 2 camers that are USELESS! This is NOT the end of this! I have documentation of EVERYTHING, the videos I took of the malfunctioning cameras, the emails with empty promises, the vm's! If anyone wants to see them PLEASE email me and I will show you myself! I just want to help others from being swindled like I was! MAYBE they are good at installing TV's, but they are horrible with cameras! Email me and I will show anyone who wants to see! read more

I have a moderate system that is just complicated enough to really have professionals tending too it. About two years ago it went down and what took me down was the controller. Now at the time, the dealer I was working with, which did a really great install, was not really helping me with my current problem. So I reached out to the manufacture, Control4. The Customer Advocate at Control4, Elliot was so personable and professional in helping me, he got me a new dealer, Malibu Wired and also was going to help with the problem with the hardware, which is Class A in backing up their quality. Vladimir of Malibu Wired showed up dead nuts on time and was able to exchange a power supply component in the controller, made sure everything was up and running and even save my programming "Project" into a file and saved it for future work and sent me a copy (something my original dealer did not do for me). This system is multi-room and had not been working all together for a very long time and you should have seen my face (as Vladimir saw it) as I heard all the components clicking on as he directed the system to come online. I had my jaw open looking up at the TV and ceiling as if God just spoke to me, I'm not kidding! Looking forward to working with them as I upgrade. I am up and running and I am very grateful to Malibu Wired and Control4. I am just a regular guy, I really don't do write-ups like this unless I really want some good folks to get the recognition that is deserved! read more

They did a great job on my first house and that was the test. I moved a year later and wanted to go extreme on the Savant system through out the house. Hands down the best system for Apple base using. So I called Malibu Wired again and let them go to town on my house. What's great about them is that they do not sell cheap crap. Everything is A list gear. You will never find this equipment for your house in best buy or any other top line entertainment place. It took them a bit to get everything done cause it was a big job. At the end , the wife and I now have surround sound throughout the whole house and pool. Plus camera on front porch and iPad in almost every room to control that room. I bought a house in LA area but don't have a "network" yet so I used Service Magic to find these guys. Vladamir, Tommie, and Ivan did a great job. They don't nickle and dime you. They don't over price cables. They do a little extra above and beyond to keep you happy. Examples: Since I was running Ethernet and Coaxial cable from a central point in the house to various rooms, they ran double lines for me without making a big production out of it. I was a little tentative because they didn't test the Ethernet lines, so I asked Vladamir. He remarked that he has never gotten it wrong, but promptly went to his truck, got his test gear, and helped me label everything and never seemed frustrated with me. This was a small $1500 job (and $500 of that was speakers) and they still treated me like I was the only customer they had even though you know this is a boring, in-between jobs type of job for them. If you need work, call and talk to Tommie and he will get you going. Don't be intimated by Vladamir. I was and I didn't need to be. He can come across a little short on the phone or via email, but he is actually this really nice guy who wants to make you a customer for life. I plan to come back to these guys about this time next year with a bigger budget for some home automation I'd like to do. I hope you find this review helpful. Just had a TV installed and some in ceiling speakers. Tommy did a great job organizing and scheduling the job and showed up on time. He quoted a price that seemed fair and I figured it would go up after the job was finished. Turned out to be exactly what he quoted. Vlad came out to oversee the install. He made sure everything was working. I changed my mind on a couple speaker locations in the last minute and they were very accommodating. We had our Control4 System installed by Malibu Wired. I found them on Control4 website. Tommy was our main contact person but during the installation process we got to meet Vladimir and the crew too. From start to finish Tommy and Vladimir were very professional, knowledgeable, punctual and pleasure to work with. Tommy gave us fair prices, started and finished the project at the promised day and even worked extra hours trying to fix some issue with our thermostat which was not related to Control4 (which he was certain of from the very beginning but never the less he spent his time trying to fix the issue for us). With zero attitude or complains. He never tried to sell us anything more than we needed, which was so refreshing (after dealing with so many other contractors who try to sell you anything you need or most certainly do not need). Always took his time to explain how everything works and replied in timely manner to all our emailed/texted questions related the project. We are very pleased with the work they have done for us. Everything is working great. They nicely organized the closet with all the wires that were not even labeled (our house was pre-wired by other company), cleaned after themselves and did a neat and nice job throughout the house (installing Control4 system on two floors, hanging 4 TVs, installing video cameras, upgrading internet network, installing home theatre and music system). This business has bad customer service and left holes in my wall. They brought a grey mount instead of a black one. The owners promised they would come back and patch the holes and replace the grey mount to black but it never occured. Parts of my components still are still not hooked up and they never returned my calls. Go elsewhere. This company will jeapordize your stereo equipment. read more
