Went to them today to get a pedicure with my cousin and Aunt. The guy was doing my nails and taking the old gel polish off. He was too impatient to wait to soak it off so he was scraping it and broke my big toenail off! It looked awful so he tried to fix with acrylic... he didn't even get all the cuticle and hang nails. You know how it's time to get new nails by the hair and everything getting stuck under it by the cuticle. Well that same day, I was getting hair and all sorts of things stuck under it. This was my first (and only) time coming here. It was the worst pedicure I have had in a few years. They talked in their language and lagged the entire time. I'm not saying they were talking about me. I have no idea, but it is still rude. She left polish all over my toes and seemed frustrated I asked her to clean it. The pedicure took 15 minutes. I asked not to receive a massage (I never get them). I felt like it was rushed. While I was sitting in the cashier waiting for my toes to dry she threw a wet sponge in the tub that splashed. She then threw my shoes when I asked to wait until the polish dried completely. The man working here was very friendly and seemed to take his time with his clients. I wish the woman that worked on me was too. I can see why the incoming clients all wanted him. I was going to get a manicure too, but opted against it after I saw my toes. I won't be returning and wish I never came. I don't recommend d this place to anyone. There's salons in close driving distance that may be better. I used to love coming here and I was honestly a devoted costumer, but after I broke a nail the day after I had a full set done I was absolutely finished. I've never broken a nail as much as I have before since coming here and I blame poor application. They overcharge ridiculously, typically paying $50-60 for a set. And $10 for a broken nail fix. Moved to Fair Oaks last month. Walked in at 6pm. After much deliberation, I was seated in a spa chair that someone else just left, 6:25pm. NO CLEANING IN BETWEEN, NOT EVEN A HALF ASSED WIPE DOWN WITH DISINFECTANT. NOTHING. Does not sterilize anything in between customers! Kathy was very adamant about closing at 7. I have a gift certificate to this place and also somewhere to be tonight, so no choice but to come here. Very rude. Her body language, constant refusal to try to help me. Nail techs are usually efficient because they want all the business they can squeeze out of a work day. Kathy was VERY OBVIOUSLY taking her time, wasting valuable minutes walking across the room back and forth as if she was lost. I was eventually tended to by Doug. Almost won me over with conversation, but he was SO ROUGH! Scraping off the shellac from my toes was TORTURE. Pedicures are supposed to be relaxing. I was sitting on edge before he finished my first foot. Every. Single. Thing. He used was CLEARLY just used, with someone else's nail residue being "discreetly" wiped off. More conversation briefly turned the air between us pleasant, and although Kathy was awkward at trying to join the conversation- I appreciated her attempt to try to be cordial, despite the fakeness. But then Doug threw in that this "is a small town.. a very small town" **Was that supposed to deter me from writing a real review of how I was treated? Whoa. Deny my business at the door and I won't be returning. Treat me like garbage and like my money isn't as good, I won't be returning. Just wanted to get rid of this gift certificate I received on Christmas, would've never visited otherwise. Was considering getting a manicure as well, but the conversation at the door told me that was out of the question. Two stars because one star reviews look emotionally charged and don't get taken seriously, and because after getting away from his wife Kathy and her poison energy, DOUG turned out to be ok. *Remember! Douglas always does a great job on my gel nails, he somehow manages flawless edges which on me is hard because my nail bed is so narrow. I had been going to a more busy shop in the same business complex but when they didn't have time to fix their polish that had started to peel I went over to Malibu Nails and didn't even have to wait. I give this place two stars only for the fact that the young girl that works their is very nice. I walked in here on a whim because my usual nail salon was packed full of people. I came at 2:00pm and their was only one other lady in their getting her toes done. I sat down and the young woman who worked their began to file my nails. She finished one hand before her phone suddenly rang and she answered it and walked away. I waited, and waited, and waited tell about fifteen minutes had gone by and she was still on the phone!! She never said a word to me and completely waisted my time. I offered to pay for the filing she had done and asked the other man who worked their how much it would be. I visited recently taking my 82 yr old mother who suffers from Alzheimer's for a special treat. The man who took care of my mother was exceptional. Her feet were in bad shape and he was extremely gentle and took extra care to make sure her nails and feet were well taken care of. The massage he gave her was very gently and caring both for the mani and the pedi. I felt like he was treating her like he would his own mom. After our mani-pedis I messed up a nail helping her in to the car. I came back after taking her home and they fixed me right up. The staff there is VERY friendly, compassionate, and provided top rate service. Price for a mani-pedi very reasonable as well. The salon is very clean and I know they sterilize equipment as I could see the instruments in the machine in the corner. I love doing my own nails, and go to a salon about once a month. This is my new place! I will be back and will also take mom for the top rate service they provide. read more
