I would not recommend this company…read more I chose them because the scope I discussed with the account manager included replacing my flooring and installing a new vanity I had already purchased. I verbally confirmed that scope with the account manager and paid an invoice that included a line item for that portion of the work. Despite that, the installer arrived without all of the necessary materials and informed me he was not comfortable installing the vanity. To be clear, I have no issue with the installer declining work he wasn't comfortable performing. What I do have an issue with is being told afterward that vanity installation was never included, despite it being discussed with the account manager and being a major reason I selected this company over other bids. The installer himself encouraged me to request a refund for that portion of the project, but the company only provided a partial refund ($180). As a result, I am left with an unfinished project, a sink currently being held up by a 2x4, and the need to hire a second contractor to complete the work. What should have been a straightforward bathroom update has turned into a major headache. By the time the project is finally finished, I will have spent significantly more than the original quote, despite choosing this company because I believed they would handle the full scope of work from start to finish.

There are classic/traditional rugs, solid rugs, modern rugs... something for everyone. I was approached by an employee after a couple minutes, and he was helpful but not pushy. I found something I wanted to purchase, and while they didn't have the exact size I wanted at this location, he arranged the order for one of the locations down south and it was ready when I arrived at that store less than an hour later. No complaints!

Be wary of Carpet Exchange. We purchased flooring for our basement remodel and had it installed by…read moreCarpet Exchange's team of installers. The salesperson we worked with was very nice. The install team was polite, clean, and efficient. Here is where things went wrong. During the install, I noticed that the product used for the stairs requires two pieces and the colors didn't match. I pointed this out to the install team. They said this is relatively normal and showed me pictures of other installs that experienced the same issue. My first thoughts were, "Why wasn't I told about this by the salesperson?" and "I wouldn't have chosen this product if I had known." The install team explained that there is a way to use only one product for the stairs, but it requires some custom work. My wife and I loved the idea and immediately agreed to go that direction. The install team contacted our salesperson, and they started the process of getting approvals to complete the work. When we asked the salesperson if they knew about the color difference, they said they didn't know about it or they would have told us. I'm thinking, "Why wouldn't the install team and the product vendor communicate to the sales team that the colors don't match?" That's a pretty big process breakdown. After a week of waiting for confirmation that the custom work would be done, we were informed by the store manager that they needed to talk to the product vendor, get samples shipped, arrange compensation to Carpet Exchange for the cost of the custom work, etc., but it should all be done in 3 weeks. At this point, we had already waited a month--what's 3 more weeks, right? Except, it's been three weeks and work hasn't even begun. Why? Because Carpet Exchange requires that you pay in full before the product is installed. Since they received our payment 2 months ago, they have no incentive to complete this work with any sense of urgency. It doesn't matter to them that we can't use our basement now. The other trades that need to come in after the flooring is done (drywall, paint, millwork, cabinets, finishes, etc.) have now removed us from their scheduling because they got tired of us asking for another week, then another week, while Carpet Exchange holds us hostage. What should have been a 3-day installation has now been ongoing for two months with no end in sight. The communication from Carpet Exchange has been lackluster, often requiring us to track down the manager just to get another vague reassurance.

They have three racks of carpet samples: plush, textured and a flat pile. They also have other types of flooring. We chose a plush carpet and some really good pad and Brett wrote up our order. He sent our phone number to an installer named Chris who was supposed to call us in a day or two to schedule coming out to measure. When I didn't hear from him for 4 days I called him. He said he couldn't get into his email and didn't know that he was supposed to call. But he did come out a few days later to measure and again a week later to measure the third room that was missed on his first visit (hubby's fault). Being that it was only 3 days before our scheduled install I was definitely nervous. Brett called us two days before install to say they didn't have enough of our chosen carpet and offered the options of choosing a different carpet, doing less area, or getting our full deposit back and not getting carpet. We opted for getting a different carpet so we made that drive up north once again. The morning of our install Chris called to say he couldn't make it but would send his brothers. We had spent days getting the rooms ready - taking out all the stuff in the closets (up to 3 feet off the floor), emptying shelves, and basically removing everything but the heavy furniture. So of course I said ok to having substitute installers. They turned out to be very good and got the job done in one day. So far everything looks great And they only missed one night stand when putting the furniture back. So Sloane's will continue to be our go to for new carpet.
