Although the New Year's Eve menu was limited, every course exceeded our expectations. We shared appetizers, entrées, and dessert, and even asked for cannolis that were not on the bar menu. The bartender made it happen, which made the night feel extra special. It is definitely pricey, and the portions were smaller than expected, so most dishes are not ideal for splitting. That said, the staff was wonderful and the food was worth it. We would absolutely recommend Persimmon for a special occasion. Our favorite drink for a night out is a dirty martini extra dirty. The martinis here are NEVER cold enough. They are legit luke warm. So we have learned to ask for them extra shaken here. Not only were our martinis still not cold, but they were clear aka not dirty. We sent them back based on the color and our server brought the same martinis back with a side of olive juice. After trying them with the extra juice they had a dirty water taste to them, almost like the ice used to shake them was dirty, which is ironic considering they were barely cold. I hate to do this but we sent them back again and let the server know they simply didn't taste good and also were not cold enough. He ended up going back and making them himself and they were much better but STILL. It shouldn't be this difficult for a bartender to make a very standard drink. The food unfortunately was also very mid. The table behind us actually sent their food back twice as well and the manager had to come over. It's also worth noting I put in the reservation it was my husband's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it at all. The service by Michaela was fantastic. She was so friendly and attentive!! The food was delicious from our Caesar Salad which was very tasty. My wife and I shared a full order and I so enjoyed it, I ordered another half order. My Veal Chop Marsala was awesome! My wife truly enjoyed her Gnocchi and my friends clean his plate with his Chicken piccata. His wife loved her Chicken with white beans. We each shared a dessert. We got a tiramisu and my friend and his wife enjoyed a crème brûlée. Overall 5 star! I will be back and I highly recommend it.

The problem is the complete lack of customer service and the dismissive attitude of the staff. This restaurant doesn't offer online reservations, so I followed the instructions on their voicemail exactly. I called before they opened, left my name, phone number, party size, and requested time as instructed. The message clearly stated that someone would call back to confirm the reservation. That call never came. Thinking it might have been an oversight, I called again after they opened. No answer. I called a third time. Once again, voicemail. We decided to take our chances and drove to the restaurant anyway. After standing at the entrance for several minutes while multiple servers walked past without acknowledging us, someone finally came over and asked if we had a reservation. I explained everything that had happened. Her response was, "Yeah, if you don't get a call back, you don't have a reservation." I replied that a call letting us know that would have been helpful since I had followed their instructions exactly. Her response? "Yeah, when you called we didn't have any tables available anyway." That simple statement summed up the entire experience. No apology. No acknowledgment that their reservation system had failed. No attempt to make things right. Just a shrug and an attitude that suggested our time didn't matter. If you know you can't accommodate a reservation, pick up the phone or return the call. If your voicemail promises a confirmation call, honor it. And if a customer shows up after doing everything they were told to do, the very least you can do is treat them with courtesy instead of indifference. My family lives in town, and we make a point of supporting local businesses. After this experience, this restaurant won't get another opportunity from us. There are WAY too many restaurants in town (actually several in the SAME PARKING LOT) to tolerate that treatment.
