Florida roll no salmon extra crab
Melinda H.

This was the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been too. First off the minute you walk through the door it smells like sewage. I should've left then. Okay then we order 1 roll it was called the Florida roll. We substituted the salmon for extra crab. We split the roll and I think we ate 2 pieces out of the whole roll. It tastes like mayo. It was not good at all. We also ordered eel sauce which was not that. It was thick like paste and brown. Then we ordered the spicy mayo and it tasted like straight mayo. Anyway 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Maki Boy is everything you want in a simple Asian meal. The portions are huge, the food is excellent, and the entire place smells awesome! The fried rice dishes might need a pinch of salt or msg, but the textures, flavors, and oils are wonderful. The spicy pork might be the best thing on the menu. Tofu costs $3 extra as of November 2023, but there are vegetarian dishes even without tofu. Service is pretty lacking but that's their business model. You have to order at the front, then find a table in a very small area, and a cook will bring out your food. Nobody will ever check how you're doing minus water refills. That aside, it's an excellent place and I'd eat here any time!

What a beautiful surprise! At first glance, I didn't think our experience was going to be fantastic, but what an incredible evening. The ambiance. The service. The food. All of it was amazing! The ordering process was great, but would've love to see a menu sooner rather than at the counter. Seating is first come first served, but service was fast and helped turned tables. Food was fresh, tasty and honestly a hidden delight! We will be back!

The service was nice and they have unlimited side broccoli and cucumber, which the broccoli tasted pretty good with a hint of peanut butter. I don't think their chicken bowl worth a try at all. However, their price is extremely good for the quality of their sushi. The sushi was tasty and filling.

We LOVE sushi and Makiboy has some amazing rolls!! We loved the Shimp Fire roll and the monster roll. Also had the spicy pork bulgogi and spicy chicken ramen which were fantastic. Also super quick service!

Oh Maki Boy how you've fallen. The past 2 times I've ordered, you have not met your previous delicious standard. The gyoza was flat, soggy, and lukewarm. I wasn't impressed with the quality of fish used on the rainbow roll. I order the same thing pretty much every time, and the issues are the same. It makes me sad.

Went to Maki Boy the other day! We got kimchi fried rice and an eel dish. I really enjoyed the eel dish. The flavor was very good. The kimchi fried rice was good but I thought it would be better topped with sriracha. (Sriracha costs extra) I will definitely go again and try some other dishes!

They have quite the menu and offerings but for my visits, I typically stick to their sushi menu. My go-to's have been avocado rolls and veggie rolls and they've always come out super fresh and fast, I also go with the seaweed salad and it barely beats the rolls coming out...I said fast! Each visit and order has been both delicious and filling without leaving me feeling lethargic or slow the rest of the day. Service has also been friendly and attentive to my needs, ensuring that I am satisfied and well taken care of. Short, sweet, and to the point: Little Katana has quickly found its way into my lunch time rotation and I quickly have made my way onto their list of regulars. See ya next time, Little Katana.

On my first trip, the restaurant was so busy there were only three open tables. The second time I went, I chose to go later in the afternoon on a weekday and my friend and I had the place almost completely to ourselves. The atmosphere is very nice here where I think it would be good for a small group or a date. It has the right balance between an intimate classy establishment and a casual meet up place for a few friends. I went around Christmas time and the decor was really cute and not overdone. The food was amazing, and I would say it was reasonably priced. My dad loves this place because of how healthy fish is and that he can eat it with his special diet plan due to medical reasons. I have also tried the crystal roll (no rice), eel, and tuna, all of which were amazing. I absolutely plan on visiting again.

The Ramen broth is simple; it's not a layering of deep flavors like those found in other ramen places, which leads me to wonder if it's made in-house or purchased. On this trip, we tried some of their chicken offerings. While the chicken bento and chicken Katsu were better than the Ramen and sushi, they still weren't amazing by any means. The staff are likely well-intentioned, but they really amplify the disappointment and create discomfort. The moment you sit, they hover, pressuring you to order while still scanning the menu. The room is cramped; tables are packed so tightly that shifting your chair risks bumping the diner behind you. This is semi-acceptable if the place is packed, but it's not. The waitress insists on putting people next to each other instead of spreading them out a bit. At one point I briefly sat on the bench to help my child and the waitress took my chair away, it was uncomfortable and just odd to put it mildly. Recommend immediate staff training and professional assistance with dining layout to maximize seating while ensuring guest comfort.

I've never had a fried burrito, so what showed up threw me off. Very salty. - Beef teriyaki and shrimp/vegtable tempura, with potstickers $16.99: Served with 4 shrimp! Also served on a plastic to go tray, which is weird, but maybe this reduces waste if most people end up with leftovers? It is a lot of food! Beef was a small portion but good flavor. I definitely ordered too much food for one person, but I wanted to try a few different things. Overall, the tempura was my favorite, but you can get that at a lot of places. The Spicy Tuna Tower was prettier than it tasted. Unfortunately, my standards are higher, coming from the Bay Area. Everything was just really salty and I ended up drinking a lot of water. On the bright side, the ambiance is nice and the service was excellent.

As a former fan of "all you can eat" buffets, I noticed as I've gotten older, I'm no longer a fan of "all ya can eat", but hangin' out with da fellas is fun. What can I say about Japan House? 1. The restaurant had an extensive sushi menu for all you can eat. 2. Exceptional service! Our waitress was very attentive, she kept checking up on us and placed our food orders quickly. After placing the food order, the food came out quickly. 3. This restaurant was one of the first restaurants that used an electronic robot. The robot machine brought out the simple items, and I even saw the robot sing "Happy Birthday" to a restaurant patron. 4. The restaurant is casual, and pretty dark inside. 5. And when you combine this with the beautiful spring weather in Texas (March), it's one of the best experiences in all of DFW. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - If you haven't been to Water Street, go now while the weather is nice (March or October). I'm writing this review in March when the Texas weather is beautiful. While the inside of Pacific Table is elegant with blue booths and white tablecloths, the outdoor seating next to Lake Carolyn creates a view that's almost impossible to find in DFW: fine dining by the water. 1 Star. Service - The service is great. Our server was attentive, helpful, and best of all shared the special of the day. I always ask my server because when they recommend an excellent dish, it means the restaurant puts in the effort to enable them. Mission accomplished. 1 Star. Food - I went with Pacific Table's special of the day: blackened redfish with creole sauce and a vegetable. WOW. This dish was a homerun. The fish was tender, well-seasoned, and the sauce added a creamy component that reminded me of the bayou. As a bonus, my sauteed spinach that I chose as my side was equally delicious. If I wasn't dining in public, I would have licked my plate. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Every time I eat at Pacific Table, I try something new and am pleasantly surprised. The combination of service, specials, and amazing Texas spring weather makes this a repeatable restaurant in my rotation. 1 Star.
