I am a full time wedding photographer who has the tendency to become extremely awkward and self-conscious in front of the camera. When a friend recruited me last minute as a model for a shoot, a panic creeped up inside of me. I don't trust myself to do my own makeup, much less so when it comes to doing my hair (No seriously. I can barely put my hair in a ponytail). With that said, I was given less than 24 hours to find a makeup artist. Catherine had worked at my friend's wedding and was recommended to me with a raving review, so she was the first person I contacted. Her website contact form had a friendly note that encouraged people to call "if you just want that voice to voice experience," and so I did. What an experience it was!!! Catherine was warm, bubbly, and accommodating over the phone. I instantly felt at ease talking to her about the services I needed, and best of all - she was available wake up early and do my hair and makeup the next morning. I was so happy at that point that I could've given her 5 stars without even meeting her. But I waited on writing a review until after the shoot. ;) Everything went wonderfully the next morning and I can now vouch for her talent and lovely personality. Luckily I was referred to Catherine by a friend. She came to my house for the hair & makeup trial and we vibed immediately. She has such an outgoing personality that not only made me laugh but put me at ease at the same time. She communicated quickly with me and advised that I find some pics so she could see what I liked/wanted. I was very happy with my trial!! Catherine also did hair/makeup for my sister & mother including airbrush & lashes. Catherine is very professional and knew exactly when we should start on the wedding day & was done way before the guests arrived. Catherine is truly gifted when it comes to making your vision for hair/make-up come to life! Not only is she an amazing make-up artist and hair stylist, she is truly a pleasure to work with - not to mention she has an awesome sense of humor! I showed her several photos on Pinterest (make-up) the day of my preview and she nailed it, which gave me full confidence for my big day - one less worry! I was SO happy with my make-up on my wedding day! My Bridal Party (Mother & Step-Mother of the Bride too) raved about their make-up as well. My Matron of Honor also had her hair done (I had mine done by my personal stylist) and she LOVED it. I say LOVED, because she is super picky and having never met or seen pictures prior to the wedding, Catherine nailed it. I did a trial for my hair and makeup for my wedding and she made my nerves truly ease because I knew that I would look simply amazing on my wedding day, which is what every girl wants. When my big day came along she truly listened to all my bridesmaids as to what they wanted and what made them feel comfortable, some of my girls don't wear a lot of makeup or used to seeing themselves all done up. The details: 1. Hair and makeup trial required for the bride prior to your wedding date (if not, I believe your day of prices go up a little for the bride) - this is a separate cost from the quote. I was thrilled with what she did for me the first time, but I know she would do a couple of styles if you aren't happy the first time around 2. Very reasonable prices 3. Travel to your site included - be sure you pay for her parking! 4. Contract and deposit upon commitment of your date 5. False eyelashes and airbrush makeup is in the package. Most people charge extra for this, but when I spoke to Catherine about it, she said, "for weddings, that's just what you should have so I don't charge additionally for it" 6. Catherine is the sweetest, funnest, kindest, silliest (and a bit wacky) person I've met.... and to do make up on me (the most resistant, insecure, anti-make up person).... she really helped me feel at ease and very comfortable.
