Yesenia was doing a similar process/coloring at the time so I booked a consult with her showed her a couple of pics told her I trusted her and only requested good blending.(little did I know she has a reputation for just that (what's the chances ) I was blown away at the Amazing results as you can see in the After pic...Wow, talk about great blending! I more recently moved down into the area and wanted to to change my hair up a bit. I called same day and Shari was so sweet to squeeze me. I super anxious about the length and showed her an inspo pic of how I wanted it to look. She walked me through every step of what she would do and kept double checking that I was okay with it. This review is strictly for Joleene, my current hairdresser which i love has been out on a medical leave, so Joleene was doing my color in her absence. I recently tried making an appointment just for root color, I had texts her twice with no response. Then on 3rd attempt she responds with "we are just not a good fit" have no idea what I could have possibly done to deserve such a response. Very rude and unprofessional to treat customers in such a manner. There are plenty of hairdressers and reputable salons that will treat you with respect and value your business, sadly this is NOT one of them. read more

Salon Revelation - I mean seriously!?!?! I'm in love!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Dana Point, California

I really hate to write this review because I've been a loyal customer here with Sydney for several cuts and color. I recently asked for a trim (a couple of inches off) and clean up of my long layers and ended up with this. My layers are 8 inches shorter than my base layer and they're not even straight :( another hairdresser told me there's a huge gap missing from the right side too so we need to cut all of my length off. Sydney didn't show me the back like she usually does and I didn't think anything of it because I was getting a simple cut that she's done so many times before. I was really shocked when I saw this at home! She did offer to clean it up but defends how this looks and says it's what I asked for. I'm not sure who would ask for this cut, so I don't feel comfortable with her fixing. Apparently the salon has a "no refunds" policy even if your hair is completely botched (again, not sure how that happens with a simple trim and clean up of long layers????). To make matters worse, the owner said the stylist had an "off day" and I'm supposed to still pay for her "off day" service? I've sent to a couple of other hairdressers who have said I'll need to cut the entire bottom layer off to fix this mistake. So disappointed! Now one "off day" will result in 8 inches shorter hair and a whole year plus to regrow it. If both the stylist and owner think this can be fixed by further cutting the layers to blend, then I'd seriously reconsider coming to this salon at all... I'm just glad I didn't have color done on the off day! read more

California Dreamin' Hair Color Shari was generous and kind enough to squeeze me in at the end of her busy workday for foils. I showed her pictures of what I was going for and what I wanted, and explained to her what I didn't want , and she absolutely nailed it beyond my wildest expectations. I've been struggling with my hair color for almost 5 years a different state where I currently live, unable to get it to be even close to the color that I was going for and then with a spur of the moment early evening appointment, Shari absolutely nailed and I love it so much!! Truly she did a beautiful job. Not only is she an extremely talented and experienced colorist, who listens to you, but she is also a wonderful human. The vibe I got from the salon was that the staff was warm and friendly and had a wonderful rapport with their clientele and one another, flexible and friendly. I am going to be flying in for Shari to do my hair color from Washington state from now on. She is that amazing. I found this salon in Dana Point on my own ... Dayna is the owner and doing hair for 17 years. She grossly misrepresented services, failed to deliver them and changed them at the last minute. I have a lovely full head of fine hair very healthy and naturally curly- hasn't been worked on in over five years. I needed a Schwarzkopf weave (OR other High quality product), I told her no Wella or cheap stuff, and no no-bleach stuff. I needed a full weave, High low medium, with some contrast. I also wanted a cellophane deposit or some kind of color deposit for gray. No brighter, toner or base color. I specifically sent images (Dayna demanded them) and asked for warm sunny, beach tones yellow gold, sunny, blonde (a la Kate Hudson or Christie Brinkley) ... no taupe, ash, platinum, beige. I sent her five images, and had a consult (she did not want to do a test strip then!). She quoted $250 for a color correction, full weave and a cut (none of which I got!). She said would consult with an operator who used Schwarzkopf for the right color. I have only paid that twice in my life and my hair came out perfect ONLY because the hairdresser did EXACTLY what I wanted. When I got there for my 10 am appointment she said she was using Joico color instead (not sure that has ever been used on my hair!). When I sat down she said she only wanted to do a partial (A PARTIAL ISN'T CORRECTION!) - I insisted on a FULL. Further, as we all know you have to DEPOSIT colour on GRAY, not lift it, so she had no remedy for that issue! She did a test strip that morning but not sure what it looked like - that shortened time by 1/2 hour that we had left for the hair. It only took two hours (my hair takes at least 2.75 to do first time OR for a full weave!). Dayna knew it did not lift the way she wanted- I saw her face!)... she did not separate or section hair off to cut it. Instead she simply jabbed lamely at the hair with her scissors, asking me who I got my hair to "flip up" ... as if she did not know what she was doing. One side was 2 inches shorter (I did not have any bangs when I went in!!). When I got home I found ,y hair was damaged (I had to purchase a olaplex oil and bond pump at $55). There was almost almost no contrast ... no color change. It looks horrible in sunshine still lots of gray - ONLY looks great indoors under yellow warm lights. It was a gray day and there was no sun outside when I left to see what she had done when I was there. Owner, DAYNA, has refused to respond and ignored requests for refund and instead sent me utterly vicious mean responses. I have VMM, texts and emails to the salon. This is grossly unprofessional behavior and work. Dayna called my efforts to get a refund OR corrective services harassment? How ODD! What a waste of time and money for me! It costs $400 to take out texts for chain of command court. I don't have time to screenshot and argue with a hairdresser who grossly deceived and mislead me. The Barber Cosmo complaint is filed, along with my yelp, my Visa has given me back the money. Case closed. Not sure how she is in business. Her rude texts will be sent to the Barber Cosmo board and court if necessary. read more

Got a beautiful cut and color correction here from Olivia, who my mom followed from beauty school to this salon and is the only stylist allowed to touch her hair or mine. She does absolutely gorgeous work and all of the stylists are very nice and professional. Olivia worked with me to learn my hair routine and history and find out my exact hair goals so she could do a look that would be the best for me and it came out PERFECT- exactly what I wanted. I got my hair done by Haley, and she deserves 100 stars. I've been hearing about Balayage for quite some time, and I finally decided to go for it! Haley was SO meticulous and detail oriented with the coloring and cut. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about her as a professional hair stylist, let alone as a human being. I only wish she would move to Richmond and be my professional hair stylist lol. Pictures are included! The salon itself is very quaint, it is very well thought out and the interior design was well executed. It doesn't have a lot of that "salon vibe" going on... instead, it's very comfortable and clean looking. Wires aren't hanging out of all the furniture, they are actually genius and have hanging outlets near each station. They have mini cupcakes, muffins, waters, crackers, etc... all to make for a more enjoyable experience. I also love their hair products, I bought some on my way out because I loved how the products made my hair feel. I definitely will come back here when I'm back in town (yes, I will schedule my family visit with a haircut/style!).
