I've been going to the saloon salon for about 5 or 6 years now and cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate Miller, Sasha, and Nicole. They have been nothing but responsive and professional as long as I've been coming in. On the off chance I want something changed after getting home Miller will always stand behind her work and seems to hold customer satisfaction above all else. My mom has been getting her color done here as well by Miller and is always ecstatic with the way her hair comes out. Miller, who did my hair is super sweet but I have to say I'm pretty unhappy with it. I had super long hair and I wanted about 4 to 6 inches cut for my longest layer. She cut about 10 inches off. To put it in perspective, my hair was below my waist and at the end my hair length wasn't even half way down my back). I wanted layers throughout the hair with some face framing layers. There was absolutely no texture placed. The back of my hair was literally cut in a straight line. I expected more from a master hair stylist. It took me years to grow out my hair and now I just want to cry looking at it! read more

Went to The Saloon for the first time yesterday after being recommended by a friend. It is fairly new so I wasn't sure what to expect. He told me to ask for Sabrina so I made my appointment with her. I was not disappointed. First off, Sabrina was very attentive, personable, and did an excellent job. She might be young, but is extremely talented and knows her stuff. Also, they have an excellent location with an awesome interior. Its small, yet very open with fantastic wood work inside, which creates an aesthetically pleasing environment. The place had a laid back relaxed vibe and after my long ( hungover) day at work, that was what I needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good experience. I will admit this salon is a little bit more expensive than my old stylist, but my stylist was less expensive than most. I would pay this again for Sabrina and for the experience I had here. I walked into this Salon with a mop of split ends and uneven edges BUTT thanks to Sasha, I walked out looking and feeling like a model who regularly has her hair done up!! It had been over a year since my last hair cut and I was fearful and nervous about a new person touching my locks, I chose the best girl! She was not only sweet and professional but listened exactly to what I wanted and delivered way beyond my expectations. San Clemente is laden with salons literally everywhere, and I feel like I've tried about every one of them, usually leaving somewhat satisfied or somewhat disappointed. I have never been happy enough to leave a Yelp review , because I'd never gotten consistency, until NOW. THIS salon is a tiny bit off of Del Mar and is absolutely WONDERFUL! To start with, it's small, which lets you have a relaxing experience as there are not a million women chattering away. The Owners Sasha and Lotte, always make you feel comfortable and welcome , and have an excellent and inspiring sense of style. I'm 45 years old, and have NATURAL blonde hair that is past my shoulders. I have been coming here for a year and consistently have gotten the BEST HAIRCUTS and COLOR, ever in my life!!! The amount of compliments I receive about my hair, is wonderful, and makes me feel great! I like to add Fuschias, and other random colors to my blonde hair, and Sasha has done it perfectly and exactly what I wanted, every single time. Her color lasts awesome, especially considering that I don't use bleach in my hair, and her prices are great too! It is small and intimate with a relaxed vibe that is perfect for San Clemente. Sasha not only does my hair, but my son and daughter, too! She does an excellent job with both women's and men's haircuts and we all always leave Sasha feeling like a million bucks! She is fabulous with color and my daughter and I always love the way our hair looks when Sasha's done with us. Often times we will tell her what we want and show her pics. She tells us her thoughts, explains her techniques/methods as to how/why, and then proceeds once we are ready. You can tell right away that she's super knowledgeable and so helpful with advice on how to best style your hair. She is always very professional and prompt, allowing plenty of time for her appointments so you never feel rushed. LOVE this place! I know Sasha from her days in Chicago. As soon as I moved to LA, I made an appointment for a color and cut. I drove 2 hours for this, and it was totally worth it! I brought my dog and we felt right at home. Sasha is lovely and so sweet- and she always makes my hair look fabulous and completely on point. The salon itself is nicely decorated, warm and comfortable. I love that it's small and personal. Price is reasonable for the quality, but not cheap. I cannot recommend highly enough. read more

I will admit that I am extremely boring when it comes to my hair. I don't dye or drastically cut it...just a trim every few months. I still of course love to be pampered at the salon every once in a while even though I am not adventurous when it comes to my hair. I made an appointment with Sabrina and asked her for a 2-3 inch trim with a few layers. She washed, cut, styled my hair and even made me a cup of coffee. She was very personable and didn't rush or pressure me into cutting more off like other stylists do. She even walked me through how she was styling my hair so I could repeat it if I wanted to.
