Update: I want to share what happened after my original review. The extensions I paid over$1,000 with a horrable partial weave and some excuses of a hair style at all that did not blend my real hair with the extensions but began falling out the very next day, and continued to fall out for the next 10 days. I reached out to the salon multiple times and asked for help or a refund. I even sent a registered letter giving them a chance to resolve it. They refused to refund me and told me not to return. I had to spend more money at another salon to fix the damage. This was a significant financial loss for me, and I'm sharing this so others don't end up in the same situation. How they can take money and know they in no way delivered what I paid for and it all fell out in the first two weeks?! Is beyond me and I recomend you consider your going there after hearing how they handle a client who spent over $1,000.00. The professional salon I turned to and had to pay the same again , has don't it correctly and not a single one has fallen out in over a month on top of fixed the color and roots and were shocked at what salon bamboo allowed anyone to pay for and treated so poorly! read more

I went in for a wash, cut and blow out with Val. All I can say is WOW! She's a natural and so talented - it felt like I was catching up with a friend all whilst getting the perfect set of layers and a face frame. I have straight fine hair so it's really tough finding someone who can layer it well. On top of that, the station was immaculate and the vibe was super laid back. Needless to say, I walked out flipping my hair over my shoulder and feeling fabulous - I mean, what more can a girl ask for? If you're looking for a new stylist - look no further. Always a good vibe. Stylist listened to what I wanted and I am so happy with the cut and color. The salon was clean and fully stocked with professional products. I am always offered tea, coffee, water and the music is just the right mix of feel-good calm. The stylists get along and seem to be actual friends. I saw extensions going on, color treatments, deep conditioning treatments and customers were excited about their hair cuts. Leah was great and gave me a great trim! I normally cut my hair short but I've been growing it out recently and Leah worked with me to clean it up to be more manageable but still be long and flowy. I have short hair, which I find can be a challenge or a shortcut for some salons. Not here! They properly gave me a scissor cut vs trying to clipper the way through it which often leaves my hair spikey like a men's haircut. In addition, I have thin hair which was worked with well and left no thinning spots due to the consciousness of the stylist. Appreciate the service! read more

I absolutely love this salon I have gone to this salon for almost a year now with my lovely Natalie who does phenomenal facials. I highly recommend her because she so sweet and caring and meets the needs your skin needs. They also have amazing facial products that Natalie always helps me with. I always enter and leave so content and relaxed. Natalie's sweet and such a great listener she'll get you glowing. First off, this is a review purely based on the stylist that cut my hair, Drea. Have you ever had a cut that made you cry when you got home? That was me yesterday. Asked for about 6" to be removed in my overall length, for hair that was once down to just above my butt is now barely past my shoulders- and is now approximately 10" shorter. I also have very thick hair so I asked for it to be thinned out. The ends weren't tapered at all, I basically had this square bulge at the bottom. It was also longer on the right side. I was so upset I went back the next day to have it corrected. Not a single apology from the stylist, who was extremely cold to me the moment I arrived for the fix. She began to make corrections on dry hair which I agreed to. She turned me opposite the mirror so she could cut my hair without me seeing what was being done. Part way through, she proceeded to tell me that I had more hair on top of my head than I did underneath, and it wasn't "normal". I'm absolutely furious and have never regretted a 20% tip more. Walked out of there visibly upset, and won't be going back. read more

So disappointed. I called at 9:35 AM to reschedule an appointment that was scheduled for the following week. They offered me a same day afternoon appointment at 3:00 PM which worked out with my need to be somewhere at 5:00. It was a hair cut and a wash which has in the past taken about 45 minutes to an hour. At 1:17 I get a call asking if they can change it to 3:45 or 3.30 a client before me was running late. I called back at 1:33 and explained I needed to be somewhere at 5 and 3:30 would work but not 3:45 as I needed travel time. 3:30 it was. I got there at about 3:15 just in case they got caught up. I went and checked at 3:40 as I hadn't been called and the hairstylists was just finishing blowing the previous clients hair dry. I waited a few more minutes and saw that the stylist was separating the hair into parts to cut. There was no way that I would be done by 4:30. Very disappointed. Poor service for me. read more

She followed all of my requests perfectly, made my appointment very calming and any worries I had with going to a new hairstylist were completely gone when she sat with me and talked about how she would go through the process! So disappointed in not only my daughters haircut if that's what you would call it but also the way it was handled. Just went in for a trim. A trim off the back. She did nor have layers and we did not ask for layers. It was curled after so this am she walked downstairs and it looks like she was given choppy layers. I reached out to the stylist who wanted to fix it and after taking to many stylist friends and not feeling comfortable having it fixed I asked for a refund and said I was not comfortable coming back. She told me they don't give refunds. That was the end of her conversation with me. I called the salon to talk to a manager to just explain the situation and was told she was in a meeting and would call me back. That was 10:30 this am and it's now 6pm. I know the stylists rent space and hope all would not handle the situation this way but wow. If I was the owner I would have at least returned a customers call and handled it more professionally. I called 4 different salons before I found one where stylists were vaccinated! (Personally I don't know how they stay in business. I cannot be near unvaccinated folks b/c I take care of my baby grandson.) I was given an appointment with Katelyn for the next day--another plus! I found her to be very easy to talk to, and she listened to what I wanted. I needed about 3 inches off the length, and layers so I didn't look like an old hag! I was really happy with the cut Katelyn gave me, and she also gave me some styling tips to help. I am almost 70, and determined to look good as long as I can. I feel like I have found "a home". 03.18.2018 H wanted her hair cut...TODAY. So this is where we found ourselves after spending a couple hours at the San Clemente Outlets. A cute little salon in downtown San Clemente. H wanted a blunt cut bob to her shoulder. Tamara was friendly and easily cut about 6" off the length of H's hair. The $65 price included shampoo and blow dry. There were shelves of hair products in this clean and quaint store. They were also having a 70% off sale on bare minerals make up products. read more

Hayley is by far my favorite hair stylist I have ever been to. I am super picky with my hair and she was able to give me exactly what I described to her. My hair has never looked as good and I am beyond pleased with how it turned out. My family recently received services at this salon. While we were waiting for our stylist we sat in the back stations which were unswept probably from the day before. The stylist who took care of us was unprofessional. My boyfriend wanted a men's scissor cut. The stylist said and continued to say this cut could have been executed with clippers much easier and efficiently. If this was the experience I was looking for, I would have gone and gotten a $10 hair cut. Our stylist made us feel bad that we were asking her to do a basic scissor haircut. With my haircut, I was left unclear, even after showing multiple pictures, whether or not the stylist understood what I was asking for. I felt resistance from her even wanting to cut my long hair short. Which was when I should have left. My hair was cut dry with a razor and as a result a ball of frizz. My experience was 25$ haircut not a 75$ one. Overall, the stylist didn't listen or fully understand what we were asking for, almost to the point of arguing. We all received cuts and styles but our experience was, in the end, frustrating and disappointing. We sent this email to Salon Bamboo and got no reply which shows how much they care for customers. Was weary of trying out a new salon considering I've been going to the same gal for sometime. However, my usual stylist was booked and I desperately needed a cut and color. Was so impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of stylist Hayley. She understood what I wanted and alleviated any of my aforementioned stress with her kind demeanor and knowledge. It has taken me months to write this .. hopefully that will show my unassertive personality . I had 4 visits in January to talk about highlighting or low lighting my hair without bleaching . I was told by the owner it could be done .. then she passed me on to a very young person Nicole. I had 4 visits in one month repeatedly checking on them to make sure I wasn't stressing anyone out with this new concept.. N insisted she knew what to do there was NO problem. 2 consults and on the 3rd visit she cancelled an hour before appt. I have the text of absolute understanding and kindness from me .. 4th appt she waited to cancel when I was in the chair seconds after entering the salon. I had brought cookies and my vegan pink color in case it didn't work out. I was prepared for anything with no regrets. Instead she told me she decided not to go further. I was stunned . Confused . In less than 5 minutes she had a meltdown and started to yell for me to get out. I was still stunned because all I had said was "why am I here?" She flipped out crying and yelling like I was an animal to her coworker who never moved . I just stared at her still in shock not registering why I was there if she had no intentions of doing my hair . I swear I have never been so offended with contempt and disrespect. I am in my 60's . Never raised my voice never said an offensive word . Just stood there stunned and confused while she yelled to her coworker to get me out ! All in 5 minutes . I have never received a call from the owner , Abby , nor an apology from that young lady who I gather is related to the owner or something to have been allowed to show such disregard and contempt such unprofessional disturbing behavior. I sat in my car in shock and called back to speak with the owner and a young gal possibly her don't really know answered the phone and 'refused' me that opportunity. They had me come to Bamboo 4 times in one month to be constantly disrespected and frankly traumatized for no good reason . read more
